Demon Hunter has my attention. It seems like it's gonna be an aggro/tempo/mid range class. I would like to see it counter balance rogue, Hunter and shaman.
Pretty strong on paper, but without self damaging tools it doesn't seem that great.
Why is it a demon though? None of the other Illidari have a demon tag
It isn't self-damage, it's attack based. "After this minion is attacked". That certainly makes it worse, but it's an interesting new mechanic at least.
Also, I already replied this on the article comments but I'll restate it in a more visible spot. She's a Demon because she's in Metamorphosis, which is a DH ability that turns the user into a demon temporarily. There's a separate version for each spec - Havoc has it as a DPS stim and grows wings while using it. Vengeance has it as a survivability tool and grows spikes. This is a Vengeance DH using Metamorphosis.
I just realized they turned Iceborn into a slow spell??? Not even fast? WTF are they thinking, its stated as a buff... but this is actually a BIG nerf, might even kill the card completely =/
The last patch's nerf to The Rekindler will slow it down a bit and, on top of that as @OldManSanns said, it's a very linear and predictable deck so it's not that hard to setup up for a good answer to its plays (draw luck be on your side).
It still a very powerfull and easy to pilot deck, so if it'll keep be that strong maybe another nerf to some core cards (once again The Rekindler) may be on its way in the near future.
It's a well rounded patch that touch some of the more problematic cards that had risen up recently in the meta, while also buffing or reworking completly some other undertuned ones. It's also good to see they're keeping and eye on some of other "problematic" cards for future fixes becuase it shows how they're at last aware of what may be in need of changes.
I repost here what I've already wrote directly in the article, for a more detailed discussion.
What a nice round of changes! I was expecting a nerf to Troop of Elnuks, since it can lead to a victory too early in the game and only by sheer RNG. It would probably not see play anymore at this point.
Flash of Brilliance is a surprise: it was so good to cycle it for Ezreal and Heimerdinger while also gaining a low cost spell most of the time that this change feels more like a nerf, so I don't know if it will be good enough to be included in such archetype anymore but I'll test it out.
Hecarim and Kalista seems both more balanced now, the first because was tuned down (but I don't know if this will be enough) and the second because seems far more interesting, solid and powerfull than before (time for some testing!).
Also nice to see another nerf to Elusive units and Mark of the Isles. I'm a bit disappointed for the change to Mageseeker Investigator, since it was one of the few "silence" effects in the game but this new one allows probably more counterplay while adding also more flexibility to the card itself.

Consider that all those who went to the HS Summit almost a month ago haven't taken position on this leak yet. Totally. Kibler is like: "ok you can talk about whatever you want, but I'll wait for tomorrow's announcement because hype because effort the team put bla bla bla".
Unless they change something in the remaining 5/6 hours (which I doubt), I dare to say it is all legit.
Oh, didn't see that it doesn't do damage to enemies, but enemy minions now. Still, while I had a couple games where Consecration was lethal, it's still super underpowered.
I'm largely happy with the balance changes. Especially regarding Black Spear, which other people (including Swim) seem to be iffy about; the balance between this and Get Excited! was way out of whack, so I'm super happy it had its cost adjusted.
Mageseekers are looking sick right now. I was actually planning to build a Lux/Heimerdinger deck next, so this change is perfectly timed for me.
I'm cautiously optimistic about Hecarim. I don't think he'll continue to be as dominant as he has been. Honestly, the nerf to Spectral Rider is just what needed to be done in my opinion (although removing Overwhelm on his level 1 might still be warranted).
The Rekindler still seems way too ridiculous. In addition to the increased cost, he should have his stats reduced to 3/3 and/or switch his summon effect into a Play effect and/or have the game mechanics adjusted so a player can never have 2 instances of the same champion on the field, period (That's actually a pretty drastic game change that I would like to see in general, irregardless of Rekindler).
As for Shadow Assassin, I think a mana cost of 4 would be perfectly appropriate.
I think second slice is like you said, I would've hoped they used Twinspell instead. They did actually use it in SoU and Galakrond's Awakening. So I don't understand why they wouldn't keep on using the keyword.
The comparison with Elven Archer seems is appropriate, and because of that it doesn't look 'crazy'. Gain +1 attack at the cost of taking face damage if you hit a minion. Plus it's a demon I guess, we'll have to wait and see how much that means for the class.
Can someone give some background information about the lore? Why does a Demon Hunter class run demons for instance? Are they enslaved prey or something? Or do I get the class identity upside down and they aren't hunters of demons but hunting demons?
Demon Hunters, following Illidan Stormrage's lead fight fire with fire, so to speak. Simplifying it a bit, they decided the most effective way to fight demons and defeat the Burning Legion was to absorb a demon's soul and become part demonic themselves. It seems the Hearthstone team have decided the illidari are counted as demons when they make full use of that soul (i.e. when they grow wings and look very demonic) but not otherwise.
As for why they use other, non-illidari demons, I am pretty sure they're not against making use of demons if it helps, but someone else (or Wowpedia) might be more helpful here.
Welcome to the Demon Hunter Forum!
God: You’re a Demon Hunter.
DH: Cool, what’s my job?
God: You hunt demons.
DH: Ah… demons? Are you sure? How am I supposed to do that?
God: You go face.
DH: I go face?
God: You’re a special kind of Hunter. You go face. Face is the place.
DH: Okay… and what if I meet another DH?
God: Guess.
DH: We perform a secret and fancy greeting ritual?
God: Kinda. It’s called a face-off.

No, right?
Then all good.

New Demon Hunter Minion - Wrathspike Brute

Also whoops, I misread it.

Kinda weird that they're adding the Demon Hunter after the approach they took with Death Knight...
Thoughts on Zombie Garen? Will it last?

Legends of Runeterra Patch 0.9.2 Arrives this Tuesday - Major Changes to Hecarim & Kalista, 23 Card Changes
What a nice round of changes! I was expecting a nerf to Troop of Elnuks, since it can lead to a victory too early in the game and only by sheer RNG. It would probably not see play anymore at this point.

Glad to see they're looking into Shadow Assassin and Glimpse Beyond for future fixes.

Is it out of season April Fools joke? While DH cards look ok,the priest's basic cards look way to overpower to land in Basic(Classic) set.

Flavor-wise, I am not really excited by DH (I'd have preferred Monk).
And I am sad that the Priest overhaul didn't add any new Power Word: X or Holy Word: Y, again, for flavour.
And who's this Seline, where's my good boi Faol(undead)!
Finally, I wish Friars were included into the Priest theme. Friars are cool!
But well, the overhaul is still for the best I guess. Better than before probably.
Let's see what's left with the release.
Card Design Conversation - Demons VS Priests
Inner Fire - Divine Spirit will still the main priest win condition (FML).
Will Velen and Cleric pass away?
Welcome to the Demon Hunter Forum!
Is this going to come with a massive Illidan buff? Can't have the progenitor of the entire class be a meme anymore.
If my profile picture and banner don't make it obvious, I am so hyped for this. Blizz had to pull some magic for me to carry on spending money on HS.
Curious to see how long it takes people to get him golden or the alt 1000 win picture
