What if.

they made it so at the end of a hearthstone year, you could buy these kind of class packs for gold. But, only 10 of each class and if you wanted to more then that, then you could pay that ridiculous price. And i know this is Activision Blizzard were talking about, so it will properly never happen, but still, it could be an interesting  idea. At least for the F2P players.

Ps. I dont think anyone should buy these packs.

You took the words out of my mouth. Kraken was too abstract, Mammoth had bad color design, and Raven is just a bit on the bland side compared to this. Glad to see they can make ones with energy in them. 

So there will be 16 free packs, did I count right? Thats pretty big. O.O

This feels like a even worse deal because we’re close to the end of the Standard year. This is the point where we should be getting actual deals on old cards, not more expensive ways to buy them.

These packs would be a lot of fun if we could buy them for gold. We’d all do it to trigger the pity timer, or to try for specific cards we are missing in specific classes. And it seems that that would be good for Blizzard, because if they give us a reason to spend all our gold right before a new expansion, then more people will want to pay money for the next set.

Note that it's Mage cards from Standard, so Year of the Raven + Year of the Dragon. Which makes it worse, since half of those are going to rotate soon.

I have very mixed feelings on this one. 

Things I dislike are the same as stated already here, it is a terrible deal. Just too expensive, for the odds of getting something you actually can play. 

But on the upside, I do like that they are experimenting with new pack types, bundling expansions with that deal the other day, and now bundling class cards. 

The pricing is really weird to me though. Who are they targeting? If it is new players, I don't think that is a good strategy. Sure, some people might impulse buy, but probably not be too thrilled with the outcome, thus unlikely to buy something else. Imagine paying ten bucks for 25 cards, and ending up with a bunch of "meh" commons, five rares and two epics, not necessarily playable. 

Also, for new players it might be better (or at least advisable) to also invest in classic cards, which makes this deal even worse for them.

For collectors it is also not that valuable, considering that you have to invest at worst a minimum of $20 to be guaranteed that last legendary you're missing, and getting exactly a missing epic is even more of a gamble. 

I hope they are changing their pricing, for a somewhat reasonable price ($1 to $1.20 per pack) they might be able to target a broader customer base than just the newbie impulse buyers, who are likely to sooner or later regret their purchase.

10 bucks for 25 mage cards and no confirmed epics or anything? Although I guess it seems like a different pack so maybe a pity timer will kick in? but it still seems like it should have either been bundled with Khadgar or a bit cheaper

It would be helpful to include in the post the "Dev insights" regarding Tier 6 and removed minions. And also the animation speed up from 0.8 to 0.2 seconds.

i think, coz of higlander mages, who needs a lot of legs, i mean, somethnig like 6-8 and a lot of them from new sets and mage class.
