how is this an improvement for F2P players? By selling cards now?
"we've planned a limited time anniversary event beginning March 4 that will bring special Tavern Brawls, a new legendary quest line, and a heaping helping of log-in rewards"
So, no Tavern Brawl this week. Instead, we get free packs, and new Legendary quest chain.
I feel this is aimed at new players, since most new players come out the gate playing as Mage. It's a good way for them to get some cards for the class that they have learned to play the game on.
Oh yeah, the crime families are great. They technically did have a small mention-- since Kriziki formerly worked for the Kabal, but I would love more from them.
Perhaps they could do an "End Times" setting with a ravaged Azeroth for the future? Play around with Bronze Dragons and their time powers, reference the End Times dungeon from WoW's Cataclysmic xpac, and just have fun with as many post-apocalypses ideas as they could.
Lol bye bye mechs, removing all divine shields but Cobalt, as if they werent underwhelming already at this point. Now they r going to be borderline unplayable.
Looking forward to dragons tho. They look like they r going to be pretty strong in their first itteration for sure :)
Edit: Oh nevermind, now that the picture is up it says once per game, was gonna say that it was straight up broken, but this is nice and the determination by the player when they wanna cash in on it will keep it interesting.
Yay! I can pass more time until the new year announcement by playing BG's again! Here's for hoping demons get put in their place.
Also, can't wait to try Reno! That hero power could be extremely useful! Even if it costs 4 gold!
Edit: This reaction was before (Once per game) was added to the article. That's A LOT less insane now. But still very useful for those times you just can't get the triple you're looking for.
Yeah, that moment got me right here, and it was sad and beautiful to seem the make the heroic sacrifice against a foe they couldn't beat right after Geroge's redemption.
In the meantime, I had a 2nd game with Yasuo where my 2 early-game Navori Conspirators didn't count towards his level-up. Then I played Yasuo on round 4 or 5, played a stun spell the next turn, and that brought him up to 1/5.
I reported both scenarios in as much detail as I could via support ticket, and they told me they forwarded the data to the development team. Fingers crossed they'll be able to snuff out the bug.
Are you saying you didn't get the "PING" and Yasuo card flash by your deck at all when you played the Conspirators, or you did get that part but the number on the Yasuo card didn't change?
As I've said in other threads, I hate that their way of adding value to chests is by random upgrades. If I were into slot machines, I'd be playing a slot machine app.
They should be empower the player to make strong choices in building a collection, not drop a random mess in your lap to see what you can cobble together. If you like the latter, that's what Expeditions are for. If you prefer the former, maybe all rewards should be wildcards, in keeping with their cash shop philosophy of no random packs.
Yes, I probably sound like a broken record, but I really think this rewards system was not well planned at all.
I kinda hope that RAFAAM won because having the Horde and Alliance decimated makes for interesting story settings.
They could probably also cheese it out, too, like say "Renogos was able to fight off Galakrond, but Rafaam not wanting to waste any time flew off to cause havoc across Azeroth, only to then destroy the proto Dragon with the artifacts he'd stolen throughout the year".
Cuz let's be honest I doubt they'll kill off the League of Explorers.
...Rafaam maybe but I still want that ravaged Azeroth setting for future HS storylines.
Also please bring back the Crime Families of Gadgetzan they were so fun
Well, regardless of what the deleted comment was, I'm glad it sparked a response that improved my understanding of what (likely) goes on behind the scenes. I had always wondered what was done to keep players with and without an update apart, but not enough to look into it.
I'm honestly not a fan of any part of the current reward system, and I'm actually thrilled to see the cracks are showing. I mean, their heart is in the right place by not selling randomized packs, but it still needs a lot of work.
For example, there are a lot of feels-bad moments as you level up a region. You earn 2500 XP (or whatever) to open a golden chest and find 2 epics, 4 rares and a bunch of commons. Then you have to earn 2750 more XP to earn a single epic at the next level? So dumb.
If they believe their own statement about making every card playable, it seems to me they should just make all rewards wildcards. They could do away with shards altogether because there would be no such thing as extras.
Maybe add some sort of manual upgrade system where you can turn 4 common wildcards into 1 rare, etc.
Yep Thunderhead it is - I guess mine are pretty easy these days! YOu're right on the first two lines and that 3rd line mentioned minions since the Sparks have rush so good for board trading. The 4th line has no meaning just needed to finish the rhyme. Your turn.
From my understanding of how Hearthstone works on the backend -
They have multiple versions of the game available when new patches are about to hit. When you connect, you get routed to a pool based on your client version. This is due to mobile clients not getting updated as fast as desktop, but they can't just prevent them from playing.
So, because of this, when a Tavern Brawl hits right before a patch is about to go out, they only activate the brawl on the new pool of connections and not the old one. Maybe some tech prevents it from being live on both the old version and about to release version, or maybe they just don't really care much. The moment we can patch our clients and login, we'll be able to play brawl right away.
Edit: The comment I was responding to was deleted =(
Dragons Have Made Their Grand Entrance into Hearthstone's Battlegrounds! 7 New Heroes, 18 New Cards, and More!
They nerfed Divine Shield as a complementary tool but made it so it is its own archetype I guess.

This is amazing! I'm super stoked and I barely even play battlegrounds haha. Gonna play more now!

Yet poor Bolvar is still around even though they took a TON of his synergies. Another note is 4 non-tribe removals that may affect Tirion.

That's really expensive. How big is the cardpool? 27 cards?

Imp Mama??
Are you kidding me? Why do they keep giving Demons more and more tools!?!
Mechs and beasts are dead, but yeah, lets remove some mech divine shields and give Demons yet another tool in their arsenal...

Hearthstone's Tavern Brawl is Closed for Renovations - Is a Client Patch Coming?
Similar thing has happened in the past, and the very next day, a big patch came to hearthstone.
If it's the same, I could assume that we'll have a big update tomorrow, including the tavern brawl. (Tuesday or Thursday, I guess it's the latter)
Dragons Have Made Their Grand Entrance into Hearthstone's Battlegrounds! 7 New Heroes, 18 New Cards, and More!
So is there now a patch out for PC?
