I was a bit confused of the card description at first because "summon a copy" usually summons a creature on the same side of the board as the original one. So the card lets to choose an enemy minion and resummons it with no buffs for the Mindflayer Kaahrj's owner with it's deathrattle, right?
If Mindflayer Kaahrj work this way it's a very strong card even with no any effects it's a 3-3 for 3 mana which is decent. It may be good against aggro because it lets you trade an enemy's board and have a sticky minion. Or it may be a high value card in late game cuz not every single deck plays silence. I hope we'll see Mindflayer Kaahrj on ladder, the card seems interesting and promising.
This just seems good. Reasonable cost, great upside, just exactly what you are looking for in Dragon Paladin. I wish this effect didn't seem repeated in so many of the classes to just overly force it being good though.
For dragon decks it’ll see play, beyond that there’s not too much you’ll play it for, since it doesn’t really do much for you unlike the other explorer dragons
The fact that this is a 4-cost (edit: oops) dragon that can viably be dropped on turn 4 is not something to overlook. Something that most dragon decks would love is dragons that don't clog up your hand all game, because they're either situational or expensive. There are very few dragons in standard, especially neutral ones, that you don't mind playing on turns 3-5.
It's not immediately obvious whether or not this can pull quests. Some cards like this have omitted quests in the past, and hopefully this will also, as getting a quest your deck isn't built for is going to feel really bad.
"Drawing" two cards is worth 3, and a 3/5 is certainly worth more than 2, so the back-of-the-envelope math suggests this card is good. The tough thing is that it's so low tempo for the turn you play it, and you could always just include a particular 1-cost spell you want in your deck instead, so the bar for entry into any deck is a little high. To see play, Cobalt Spellkin needs a dragon deck (because this probably sits in your hand activating your better dragons) in a class that either a) gets value out of having cheap spells regardless of their effects, or b) has mostly great 1-drop spells.
Obvious contenders here are Rogue (where the 1-drop is at least a combo activator, and might also be a useful card), Warrior (where the pool of 1-drops is small, and chocked full of good stuff), and Mage (basically the same argument as Warrior, with the added bonus of spell-casting synergies). I don't think any of the other classes get enough value out of this to be excited about it.
Lightfang and Amalgam nerfs? I can’t wait to see how the meta will evolve after that! The new murloc also helps to dilute the tier 5 pool for anyone not playing murlocs, so thats a relief.
I expect menagerie to lose a bit of popularity, but it will probably still be very powerful. I guess we just have to wait and see what the new dominant strategy will be. Probably any strategy that can utilize Brann to its fullest. Those double battlecries cannot be underestimated
Fun card, another board clear for priest. I’m curious to see if this makes its way into battlegrounds as a tier 6 card, seems suited for a way to make the dragon tribe unique in battlegrounds
Meta dependent for sure. If Aggro dominates, this card will do nothing to stop it. Sure, it will have 6/6 in stats (on average in the early game), but against a wide board, this doesn’t accomplish much.
Now if the meta shifts to more dragon/control based decks, I think this card is going to be crazy good
There are some other ways to steal life other than bloodsucking. It is just a way which some beasts and cursed creatures (like vampires) can do. It should be named as lifedrain which is a lifesteal too.
Some other way can be described like how spectral cutlass does. It steals the life from the soul not from body. You can call it souldrain. It is also a lifesteal.
And paladin's way of lifesteal should be about the Light in living. I mean it drains the source of life. Paladins are religious types tho. They fight with faith. If they think they are fighting for their duty, for their faith, they might feel more poweful so it might give them health. You can think like that. I always imagined it like this.
So lifesteal term contains all of these like how music term contains jazz, Rock, hip-hop, metal etc.
The only thing worries me is how lifesteal works on mechs too. Mechs should have been invulnerable to lifesteal imo. I mean, how can you steal life from A robot? Even undeads are ok because they are biological creatures but mech stuff is ridiculous imo.
Yes, yes, yes! The fact this has lifesteal makes this card a huge winner in my potential Highlander dragon healadin deck. How to fit 30 cards in this type of deck is going to be an issue
This is a solid card. The stats aren't great and all the effects are small, but for the net value its not bad. Its always nice to get any amount of bonus armor on an incremental value card.
Yay! A few days without the Evolve meta before DoD drops! Domb in the Tomb has been one of the worst meta's I've experienced, and I lived through MSoG!
New Paladin Minion - Amber Watcher
Indeed, will be a staple dragon in dragon pala.
New Hunter Minion - Veranus
Haha really, for 2 more mana gives you a 7/6 and it only affects minions.
New Neutral Minion - Hot Air Balloon
I wonder if this could find a place in Inner Fire priests.
New Neutral Minion - Camouflaged Dirigible
Still this is really expensive for it and it doesn't even give itself stealth.
New Neutral Minion - Kronx Dragonhoof
Staple in Galakron Decks, nothing more to say.
New Neutral Minion - Zul'Drak Ritualist
I like this in taunt warrior, can be buffed and can be used with brawl.
New Priest Minion - Mindflayer Kaahrj

New Paladin Minion - Bronze Explorer
This just seems good. Reasonable cost, great upside, just exactly what you are looking for in Dragon Paladin. I wish this effect didn't seem repeated in so many of the classes to just overly force it being good though.
New Warrior Minion - EVIL Quartermaster
Bit of armor and a lackey to go along with it, what’s not to love
New Neutral Minion - Cobalt Spellkin
Probably would see play with things like gadgetzan or the new Mage legendary, doubt it’ll see much play for the effect alone
New Paladin Minion - Bronze Explorer
For dragon decks it’ll see play, beyond that there’s not too much you’ll play it for, since it doesn’t really do much for you unlike the other explorer dragons

Two New Cards Revealed - Cobalt Spellkin, EVIL Quartermaster
Cobalt Spellkin is great for dragon handlock. Yay, im so happy for this card.
New Priest Minion - Chronobreaker
Fun card, another board clear for priest. I’m curious to see if this makes its way into battlegrounds as a tier 6 card, seems suited for a way to make the dragon tribe unique in battlegrounds
New Neutral Minion - Cobalt Spellkin
The usefulness of this in Cyclone Mage or Secret Paladin is obvious, but I have a hunch this will see play in some other classes.
New Priest Minion - Mindflayer Kaahrj

Paladin Card Reveal - Bronze Explorer
You dont have to think like that.

Despite the competition, I have a feeling this will see play eventually.

New Warrior Minion - EVIL Quartermaster
Good card, I doubt it will see play in standard. In arena, this card is nuts.
New Neutral Minion - Cobalt Spellkin
Chenvalaa support for mage, secret generator for pally. This card will definitely see play. 3 stars
New Warrior Minion - EVIL Quartermaster
This is a solid card. The stats aren't great and all the effects are small, but for the net value its not bad. Its always nice to get any amount of bonus armor on an incremental value card.
