this is super helpful for newer players. when I started I had no idea what people were talking about, I could listen to a podcast and miss so much cuz I didnt know the lingo
Especially since so much of the lingo comes from other games! "Why 'Miracle druid'?" "Oh, you see, in Magic: The Gathering, there was a card called..."
I wonder if destroying a deathrattle minion in a deck will trigger its deathrattle.
I would assume it does. Ordinarily, "destroy" means "kill" (if the minion is on the board). e.g. Poison Seeds says "Destroy all minions" and it definitely triggers deathrattles.
One interesting question, though, is what if you play this on a minion that has a "resummon this minion" deathrattle? In that case, I'd assume the minion would be destroyed (along with all other copies), and afterwards, would come back as the only one of its kind.
(Same question applies to reborn minions, actually. I assume the ones on the board are killed but reborn, but the ones in the decks are just thrown away.)
I think many people are either over estimating or under valuing this. This card does a number of good things and does them better than some of its counter parts. Yes, its slow, slower than Twilight Drake or Mountain Giant, however its stats are split into 2 bodies, and one of those naturally has Taunt, and while the Taunt can be silenced, the stats don't get wrecked like Twilight Drake, and that body has some potential Demon synergy. The big deal is that the Taunt is rolled in, so instead of playing a Twilight Drake and then giving it Taunt, you just have all that, plus you have the small body which you could bounce and replay for value, or you could use either half along side Shadow Flame and still have something left on the board. And yes, it gets buffed by the new legendary, but that's just extra garbage, that will never truly impact this cards playability.
A huge taunt isn't just for protection against aggro, it's also very useful to kill your opponent. Handlock doesn't have to be defensive: I've been experimenting with an aggressive handlock built around Mountain Giant and Expired Merchant and while it's not quite there yet, with cards like this it may well become viable.
Also... isn't greed the essence of handlock? You take a risk by tapping often in the hope of a big pay-off.
I've seen a similiar card on Hearthcards, just like Sathrovarr. It's an interesting effect that counters lots of decks: Infinite, Holy Wrath Paladin, Mogu Cultist Decks, Pogo Rogue, N'zoth Rogue, and some others I can't list on the top of my head. The biggest weakness this card has is the existence of Highlander decks. Those who run 1 copy of each card won't mind you destroying their minion since they only had one copy to begin with while decks that aren't "pure Highlander" (having two copies of some cards) won't be too disadvantaged if you destroy a minion, unless the minion is part of a combo (like Holy Wrath Paladin). Overall, it's a solid removal card that will definitely see play, but whose power level will be determined by the meta.
Getting a 7/7 or 8/8 taunt on turn 6 would be pretty strong, right? I could imagine this seeing play, it allows handlock to put on pressure a little more consistently at least.
I'm not sure this card is actually good, but at least it does something crazy, so it will be played by someone at some point. I talked about this a bit with the previous card draw card [Hearthstone Card (Veiled Worshiper) Not Found], Warlock doesn't generally want to draw a bunch of cards, that's what the hero power already does, and this is a LOT of cards, however the extra ability is very interesting and in Wild at least Mecha'thun is a thing and this seems awesome in that deck.
Wow this card is awesome. The effect does kind of look like Vilespine Slayer, but its way different. Yes, against specific Legendary minions this is basically just Vilespine, but against non-legendary minions or tokens this is way crazier. This wipes out a whole board of Treants or all 3 parts of Doppleganster or just kills the second copy of something in your opponents hand or deck, it can punish cards like . Now, its is also true it can remove those resources from your deck, making mirrors even more interesting, or putting thought behind targeting commonly played neutral minions. But either way this card does some really powerful and interesting things at its costs, and its going to be ubiquitous in Rogue.
...Unless you shadowstep Flik to reduce his cost, then play your own Waxadred and kill it with Flik.
(Only works if you draw both Flik and Waxadred before your opponent's Waxadred has his deathrattle triggered, but that's going to happen in some games.)
Every now and then you want to dust off a res priest hate-deck. This can actually work well with Defile, [Hearthstone Card (Malestorm Portal) Not Found], etc. so it could see play.

Sprint is not even in the same class, so can't be powercreep. Nothing is made irrelevant here.
