Hi all - we’ve temporarily disabled the Tavern Brawl mode and expect it to return tomorrow, Thursday the 14th. Some players were encountering some issues after matches have concluded, and these were serious enough that we wanted to take the mode down entirely.
We’re planning to bring the mode back tomorrow and will be rotating in a different Tavern Brawl for the rest of the week. We’ll provide an update at that time to let everyone know that the mode has been enabled again and give you a heads up of what Tavern Brawl we’ve rotated in.
Brann Bronze even more amalgam cancer why don't they remove this card completely also they have to do something with tribes being too strong over normal minions beard
fixed so it's more easy to read since he got a point
Nightmare Amalgam is indeed too strong, why wouldn't you pick it? how it is still a 2 star unit? should definitely be a 4 star unit at least so it doesn't reach late game so buffed and isn't just something you ALWAYS buy.
about tribes being better than "normal" minions.. what are normal minions? are there even any normal minions who have a game plan.. it's like in any auto chess game there are tribes.. this game is no different you can't win if you just buy stuff that have no tribes.
I chose to make Kel'Thuzad, because it doesn't seem right that he would just be the "I'm dead" portrait :/
Your minions get first crack at the table, while the enemy thaws out. Freezing enemy minions would stall cards like Foe Reaper 4000, Cave Hydra, and Zapp Slywick. It would also slow down Deathrattle minions, especially the throw-away kind that want to die first.
Hello there. I’ve played Hearthstone for the past 2 years or so, so I have seen quite a lot and have a pretty good understanding of how the game works. Since the launch of the open beta of Battlegrounds, I’ve played quite a lot of games, so I've gathered some thoughts here to provide as feedback.
First of all, positives:
+The UI is great. Although different from the usual Hearthstone UI, the Battlegrounds one is quite enjoyable too.
+The heroes are pleasing to play as. Save for the fact that it'd always be pretty cool to play as The Lich King or Yogg-Saron, or Ragnaros, they are all thematic, their hero powers fit them quite well.
+The music is thematic as well. Both tracks that play in the Battlegrounds make you feel like you're in a tavern, chatting with a stranger, while waiting for your beer to come. I’d also like to suggest one of my favorite OSTs from WoW, the Kul Tiras Tavern Day 2 track: https://youtu.be/x9jH1UM3IbA
Now, negatives:
-The turn time is not enough, especially for mobile. I know this would be hard to balance, as if there was more time, it would get boring and tedious because of the waiting, but neither is it okay to have 20 seconds at Bob's Tavern sometimes. What I'd suggest would be to shorten the animation times, or add the option to.
-There are not so many strategies to adopt. I guess this is harder to fix, as it’d require adding more cards, but I’d quite like to see some new tribes being introduced as cards. It would be interesting to see Dragons with their in-hand synergies and Elementals with theirs and so on.
Now, some nitpicks:
-It’s a little disappointing that there are no voiced emotes. Remember how earlier I said that it’s cool to play as The Lich King or Yogg-Saron, or Ragnaros? You know what would be twice as cooler? Yeah, playing as those same heroes, but with fully voiced emotes. I know it would be hard to have 24 and soon more fully voiced heroes, because of the casting, but it would be a great improvement nevertheless.
-There are no clickables in the background. Sometimes, especially in the early game, you finish your turn quickly. And what is there left for you to do? Nothing. You can’t click on candles in the background to make them explode, you can’t brew potions, you can’t activate traps in ancient temples. It just breaks the whimsical and silly feel of the game.
So, those are my thoughts! I know it's only still beta, but I thought it'd be useful for the developers if I provided some feedback, you never know if they'll read it!
So many changes! I'm glad to see that they're already eager to make some fixes after just one beta round because it probably means that they'll be fast even if during the future there will be some broken interaction.
Extremely excited for tomorrow and for what's next in store for the game. Frequent balance changes - much like what Gwent is doing - is the way to go with digital card games, as it guarantees longevity to different tactics and strategies
I would like to see how this will effect the existing decks. It seems like I need to tweak my own decks. Especially the ones with Kalista, Thresh and Lux.
Weird change for Lux tho, Seems like buff and nerf at the same time. I guess it is more useful then the older one.
I liked the spell changes of Burst to Fast, Fast to Slow and also some spell and unit changes from Deal all to deal units only. Especially Intimidating Roar in Yasuo decks. It was needed in my opinion.
Liked Withering Wail change too. It is not a dead card in some situations after this change.
I don't think that Garen, Draven, Shen nerfs will affect their playrate. Garen might even be more playable with this change since it isn't a buildaround card like, for example Draven. Draven seems still ok with this change. It is a Discard/aggro card after all.
I hated She Who Wanders in first preview and I still hate her after her new mana cost. It doesn't change anything. Units to Followers seems reasonable but still takes a huge advantage among other strategies. Most of the champions, especially aggro ones can't answer this huge threat along. Sorry but I didn't like the change of her. In my opinion, She must be able to obliterate the units on play, not hands. Let's see how she who wins will be after this change.
Ah and, I had tried to make Mageseeker Investigator work and liked her design. I really disliked her change. Let's see how a tech card she will be.
Edit: I have yet read all and watched the video and see that we can see which champions the opponent has in decks ? That's great, I guess ? I mean, It may help for mulligans. Liked it.
and "While it was flavorful, Ruination will no longer occasionally crash the game." That was funny. :P
Four New Heroes Leaked for Hearthstone Battlegrounds!
So glad they are expandin it!
Custom Class - Time Traveler (Updated February 17th - Return to Naxxramas added!)
I'm now realizing how OP Tharon'ja might be with Sathrovarr.
This could even be combined further with Chronos and make the Tharon'jas you get in your hand and deck cost (1).
Well, shit.

So if we were mid-run are we getting credit for the wins? Is it going to pick where we dropped off? Not that big of a deal - just wondering.
Ben Brode Presents Grilled Cheese
Mayo is basically margarine with a little egg, vinegar and spices. All perfectly fine things to cook/brown.
Can you imagine what aioli would be like? It's based garlic bread grill cheese.
