RNG made the games a bit one-sided, but congrats on the win nonetheless ^^

It's a nice outcome for hare into evolve, highroll into 3 8/8's incomming for trolden.

Although by the time the expansion drops, evolve will be wild only again

She played brilliantly, had some of the best draws I have ever seen whilst her opponents had some of the worst. Almost too good to be true...

    Where is she from anyway?

  • Hearthstone Battlegrounds

It seems cool to me, lots of room for updates and new features! I actually like the simplistic nature of it, it’s not supposed to be an entire new game. Easy to get into, intuitive and refreshing!

The questions that remain are, how the ranking and reward system will work. I am a little afraid that this mode is closer to Tavern Brawls and Solo adventures than to normal play mode or at least arena.

I wouldn‘t blame blizz for coppying the autochess genre. HS itself is just a „coppy“ of MtG. New game ideas become popular and the big companys obviously try their Version of it. In blizzards case, the game is easy to understand and watch, probably not highly competitive (although i could see a high skill cap here aswell!) and prioritizes entertainment. If you want more balanced, skill dependent auto battlers, you got plenty of options already...

  • Hearthstone Battlegrounds

They're trying to jump on the auto-chess hype, but with minimum effort: over semplicistic, recycle of assets and just as a game mode for an already existing game (instead of a stand alone one). While it can be fun from time to time, auto-chess is something that if over semplified will become just pointless since strategy and complexity are key point of this genre gameplay.

I'm not too interested in this dumbed down version for HS, but I'll give it a try. I still hope that with LoR coming they'll rework how Ladders work and put some real effort in adding new things regarding the competitive aspect of HS, instead of just "side" modes.

rant as much as you want it doesnt change the truth. its confirmed by hs devs that the crystals are empty

  • New Paladin Minion - Nozdormu the Timeless

    Options:

    • Against Aggro: you play it on t4, if you know you are safe, and turn the game in your favor next turn.
    • Against Tempo/Midrange, or if unsafe: you play it on t7 with Time Out!. Followed by some big swing next turn.
    • Against Control: You play it in the lategame for sheer value: (4) mana 8/8 memes incoming.

All in all, i think this Nozdormu is more versatile than Temporus, in that a timely play has less chances to backfire.

However, considering an average meta, it is true that he's not as mad as it seems, because you must always plan ahead, and your opponent is likely to have still quite some steam on t4, no matter their archetype.

Otherwise seen: it is a less powerful Kun the Forgotten King, but with an extra option to be played earlier, with a measured risk.

  • New Paladin Minion - Nozdormu the Timeless

It's a nice outcome for hare into evolve, highroll into 3 8/8's incomming for trolden.

It's also a dragon so when you don't want to play it keeping it in your hand to activate other cards isn't the worst either.

And it's a 4 mana 8/8 on turn 10 aswell albeit less of an impact.

I can see this working against agro if you can play this on turn 3 with coin or turn 4 to ramp into board removal and maybe some healing, that is if you survive past that point tho.

  • New Mage Spell - Learn Draconic

    Quote From RavenSunHS

This is a Value card, as most Sidequests will be by design.

However minor, it requires setup, so it does nothing the turn it is played (poor Tempo), EXCEPT from turn-9 and later, which can still be considered as a Value move, within the economy of HS.

All in all, these cards can only fit Midrange or Control decks.

To be seen if worthy of the slot tho. Probably only specific Midrange/Control will benefit from them, despite the condition being quite generic.

UNLESS an efficient tutor is printed.

Learn Draconic might not be a tempo play, but the turn it activates it's a huge tempo swing, effectively a zero mana 6/6. In that sense it can be compared to cards like Arcane Tyrant and Anubisath Sentinel. Now I happen to think that 8 mana is just a pinch too much to make this card good in tempo mage decks(at 7 it'd be a LOT easier to complete with 2 spells by turn 4), not to mention the fact that that deck lacks a certain Flamewaker at the moment, but it's a mistake to look at Learn Draconic as just value. The fact that you can "pay" for your dragon over a number of turns while using that mana to draw cards, kill minions, deal damage, etc. makes this side-quest a very powerful tempo-swing.

Yeah, but as i said, it does fit only in Midrange or Control, because only there you can afford to have a card in your deck/hand with no effect on the play-turn.

In other words, it is a CONDITIONAL Tempo-swing, not a real Tempo-swing card.

Not to mention the fact that the real swing is applied by some eventual removals you play to unlock it: 6/6 on the board is no big swing per se, however cheap it is (it's not a Rat Trap that gives you a 6/6 ready on your turn).

Indeed, Arcane Tyrant is a Big Spell card: Midrange/Control.

I smell some fun potential with deathrattle abuse!  With Unearthed Raptor, Necrium Blade, and Necrium Vial, you could get a bunch of candles in your deck, so you just keep getting  a free board full of 7/5s!

Shadow of Death is pretty much objectively better than vial for this purpose, as it effectively shuffles 3 (rather than 2) candles into your deck for 1 less mana. It's only worse when cast on an Unearthed Raptor, but I think it will win out overall, especially in Standard where the raptor complications don't exist.

  • New Rogue Spell - Praise Galakrond!

    Quote From Ashkrell

    eeeew! It should be:

"Invoke Galakrond. Combo: Praise him again!"

That would've been a fun card. Probably too strong for 1 mana but great flavor.

Wow, 7/8 of them have the same pose. Interesting. This pose is a protective pose, which shows that another person tries to guard themselves or give comfort. But, I guess I'm reading too much into it.

  • Custom Class - The Astromancer (Updated 2/2 for Descent of Dragons and Galakrond's Awakening)

I tried to put "another" in the text but it ended up having 5 lines. It's the intention that it doesn't transform itself. I'll try to replace random with another to see if it can fit.

  • Everything We Know About Hearthstone Battlegrounds - Upcoming Autochess Game Mode

You are probably not the only one, but there are people who are interested. I've never tried autochess, so I'm pretty excited to see how it is, after watching Kripp and Toast.

Well, it's not like they force you to do those. It's just another game mode, like Arena, Tavern Brawl, Wild or Standard. So it's all good.

  • New Warrior Minion - Deathwing, Mad Aspect

Does warrior really need another removal ?? this is a joke .. half of their decks are removals and they print another one

  • Descent of Dragons

Still not good enough to save the game blizz, and even the apology was so bad, thanks, I'm out after my 3 years here, I cannot support shit like this

  • New Mage Spell - Learn Draconic

This could be pretty good to set up an AoE swing turn with Flamestrike or Blizzard. Sticking a 6/6 on an empty board is a lot more threatening than playing it into enemy minions, even if you're playing control.

  • Descent of Dragons

I feel you man. I want to have a warrior other than Garrosh SO BAD, but now both options cost money. Very tempting, but seeing as I regretted the only two preorders I've ever done for this game as soon as I finished opening all the packs, I think I'll learn from history and save money.
