Because Lion, rightfully so, won the tournament people seemed to disregard Feno. He actually made the EXACT SAME mistake that cost him a match against Casie in GM by not playing fast enough with combo Priest. He would actually win against Bloodyface otherwise.
I felt bad for him when he got relegated. This actually made me stop. You're allowed to make mistakes in GM. You shouldn't be allowed to make such a huge mistake and LEARN NOTHING FROM IT and still be a GM.
Also a word on the entire format - having only 8 players makes SO many great players not qualify. While I liked Hunterace and Justsayian as casters, they are two of the most consistent players in the game's history. They should have been playing, not casting.
yeah, no, we're all going to hate this immensly after about 3 days.
just slap a dragon package into Quest Shaman. Draconic Lackey already makes this more consistent. So aside from Sandstorm Elemental and MCT you'll also have to worry about getting flamestriked at 3....hitting coincidentally the exact same number of minions that you would play to not play into MCT.
I'm gonna give this expansion a chance, but I feel like I'm just gonna quit after two weeks.
It's not really possible to know whether this will see play until we see the full set of invoke cards as well as all the different Galakrond hero power/invoke effects. Bear in mind that the invoke effect only has to generate 2 mana worth of stuff to make this card cost effective, which is incidentally how much hero powers cost, and upgraded hero powers actually tend to be worth about 2 mana.
Four mana for a 2/2 rush, 2 1/1 Imps and a tick on my Galakrond counter doesn't sound like a horrible deal, for example.
I see how you did the math but the galakrond hero powers are not really worth the full 2 mana, it's still an hero power..
add random priest card to your hand is similar to the 1 mana classic rng cards.
add a random lackey to your hand is a 1 mana effect (Sinister Deal)
so I can assume this card is just not cost efficient but as I said if you really want more invokers this is probably the last one you add as a 2/2 rush is QUITE garbage.. but maybe the warrior one has synergy with rush cards so it might be worthwhile in warrior
or maybe shaman gets really expensive ones and you want to use this in quest shaman for the double battlecry (depends on how strong galakrond is you might want quest for mid game and galakrond as finisher, remember the galakrond effect is a battlecry, 9 mana double galakrond might be game winnning if it deals face damage or something).
Or maybe you want ALL the invokers in the deck for some reason, I mean if the payoff for invoking twice is as good as the 2 cards we saw that do that maybe you really just want all of them no matter how mediocre they are.
China is not part of the Grandmasters system so Liooon won't be getting a place there. Also I'm not sure if they would count the prize money here towards those spots anyway.
Zoo warlock cannot afford to wait until turn 8 to start getting minions on the board. The hero power would be useful to a Zoo deck if you started with it or accessed it on turn 3 or 4. A zoo deck that starts flooding the board on turn 8 will ... oh wait, a zoo lock that waits that long to get going will never survive to turn 8. The only way this is any good for zoo is if there are some really cheap invoke cards.
Umm, even with the invoke, this is an absolutely terrible card. 4 cost, 2/2 rush? Even as a 3-cost 2/1 rush, it would still be borderline unplayable. Other 4 cost rush cards include: Militia Commander, Restless Mummy, Swift Messenger, and Steel Rager. Compared to ANY of those cards, this is way, way below unplayable. Probably tops the charts as one of the worst cards I've ever seen Blizzard print. Full stop.
Edit: You can also compare it to the 5 cost invoke card literally right beside it on the reveal chart - a 4/5 taunt. THAT card is a totally normal stat-line for a 5-cost taunt with another effect (like Rotten Applebaum). But for some reason, this card has at least 2-3 fewer stats than any other normal 4-cost card. Completely unplayable.
Edit #2: A 2/2 rush is functionally almost identical to a spell that deals 2 damage to a minion, like Lesser Jasper Spellstone, Arcane Blast or Cheap Shot. Hunters have a 2/1 rush minion Hunting Mastiff - it costs 2 AND has echo. The fact that Cheap Shot deals 2 damage to a minion exactly mirrors the hunting mastiff. The health is basically irrelevant since it will almost always be trading into something. 1 health or 2 health makes almost no difference. So, for the Devoted Maniac, you are paying 2.5 mana JUST for the invoke (since a 2/2 rush is functionally identical to a 2/1 rush minion, and a vanilla 2/1 rush minion is valued right about 1.5 mana).
I mean seriously, I cannot get over how understatted and overcosted this minion is. It's mind-boggling. This will not make the cut for any deck, regardless of how much the deck wants to Invoke.
I'm having mix feeling on HS Battleground: On one hand, they are finally implementing a new mode - which is nice, even if it doesn't seem this exciting to me - on the other, tournament mode has yet to even surface and been on their ''to do'' list for quite some time now. I do hope it will be better than what I'm expecting it to be, that's my only wish.
Actually, Tournament mode has been off of their 'to do' list for a pretty long time now. They have officially announced that they are not going to ever do a Tournament mode, and yet there have constantly been people asking when that is going to come out.
There is no Tournament mode. And there never will be.
Positive thing is, that they try to do something new. But that's it in my opinion.
At first glance it looked like a really low effort, because practically all interface and cards - are reused.
After watching about 3-4 hours of Kripparian stream... my opinion got only worse.
Long story short - I think Battlegrounds will not have enough variety. Which means - low replayability, so probably it will not last long. It is not possible to survive without Blizzard support.
It's nice to try something new, especially before next year Standard rotation, that's it. I hate to be this negative, but that's what I feel.
We can really expect more effort from Blizzard. Personally I hoped they announce Auto Chess, but... based on Heroes of the Storm characters. They have so many nice characters there... (I play HotS casually sometimes).
In case of HS, I wait for some interesting new modes. For example I so much want to play Sealed format. I hope they can introduce new mode next year.
Well of course they would reuse the cards/interface. This is not a new game, it is a new game mode. Which means that you are still playing Hearthstone, and you are still playing with Hearthstone cards, but in a new way.
Arena exists as a 'sealed' format, so I am not sure why you bring that up as though it hasn't been a thing for ever.
I only play HS. All I use the app for is to launch HS.
It is surprisingly unintuitive where this option is. There are a lot of menus and dropdowns to click around on.
The only thing I ever change, when clicking the launch/play button, is the region dropdown. They've put that 3 clicks away.
So, yes, it looks prettier, but for my particular use case, it is a step back.
Still, it is beta, so things can change :)
Not sure if Im misreading something but if you just want HS at the top menu bar - you can right click and "Remove from Favorites" and get rid of all icons except HS. If that's not enough, you can just click the pixelly box on the top left and check/uncheck the stars so that HS is the only one that is starred. Is this not intuitive still?
Regarding the region thing, yes, they did make it an extra click for you to change regions. Send feedback so they know something has gotten worse. This is a beta. Give them the feedback they want.
yeah, no, we're all going to hate this immensly after about 3 days.

yeah, I have a feeling this will quickly get nerfed to 5 mana. Just compare it to any other damaging spell shaman has access to.
Why is blizzard hating warlock so much? Ridiculous! Not a single good card this year, nothing... It's most notorious in the invoke cards, every one is terrible, as if the hero power was worth it. Late game summon 2 11s is trash, and random demons will be summon 2 trashy imps most of times. Sad...
I think the issue with Battlegrounds is that there aren't a lot of winning strategies. Most of it is just "Buff your minions to heck" or "get all the deathrattle/summon interactions" and most nuance comes from positioning and attack order which, depending on your opponent's setup, may not matter a whole lot. your biggest minion gets sniped by a lucky poisonous one? Your key minion gets obliteraed by the guy that targets th elowest attack minion first? That's it.
I enjoy the mechanic of combining minions into golden ones but that just ends up being confusing during the battle phase. When combat resolves, it turn into a mess that is incredibly hard to follow and not that fun to watch either. I gotto be honest, I am already burned out on the mode from just watching streamers play it and I havn't even tried it myself... I still will but it definitely didn't get me hyped.

New Warrior Minion - Deathwing, Mad Aspect
I hope this can help my Big Dragon Warrior deck until next rotation.
New Shaman Spell - Lightning Breath
Probably.
As far as i understood it, only LoE classes get old dragon aspects, while EVIL classes get entirely new Dragons (+Galakrond).
The only exception being Warrior, for unknown reasons (since Malygos is just as mad and hostile as Deathwing).
New Shaman Spell - Lightning Breath
Excuse me, since we get all the breath cards based on the class dragon, which dragon has lightning breath? Or maybe someone new like Waxadred?
New Paladin Minion - Nozdormu the Timeless
I like cards with risk attached to it, it makes every turns more thoughtful instead of sleep society.
Dragonbane
The key words are "random enemy." Not "random enemy minion." This is a turn 6 play most of the time; or it's a base for Zilliax. Very good card.

Is the game unstable since UI patch? (Nov. 2 2019)
I've noticed the last two days I've been kicked off Hearthstone after a match or the game crashes on the PC more often.
Thought it was bad enough I couldn't play it on my tablet as we await the mobile patch/expansion purchase options there.

Class cards can only be discovered by the class they belong to, not any other classes. Rogues could get it randomly, but not from the Lackey
New Hunter Minion - Dragonbane

Refreshing win, she had a great run even to get to the finals, and it continued there.

Malygos, Aspect of Magic
Not gonna lie, it's a bit strange seeing Malygos as a 2/8 when we're so used to him being a 4/12.
