My guess is that there will be a new mechanic where cards will gain particular effects depending on whether you play a League of Evil card or an Explorers League card. Could be an interesting way to craft decks. Also it makes sense with the card backs changing colour. Just a guess, guess we'll know more next weekend.
So this weekend a Mytgard tournament took place (forgot to advertise it here, sorry), and this little gem happened.
I'm going to explain what happens step by step:
The Ironbelly Wyvern is placed on Giant's Stairway, which gives it +3/+3
After attacking, the player replaces the Enchantment (which he can do because of his Path), killing the Wyvern
However, the new Enchantment is Stairway to Hades, which revives the minion that dies on it and gives it Frenzy (this doesn't work on Demons, and the revived minion becomes a Demon)
Because the Wyvern has Rush, he can go face immediately, and then play Wings of Abadon which also has Rush for lethal (the Enchantment there wouldn't have mattered)
All in all, a really awesome play. You can watch the whole thing here.
We don't have a filter for species, it is only for Tribes. Some other things are listed there that are internally relevant to Hearthstone at some point and we should probably hide them as to avoid confusion.
No plans to do a filter for ard text lines. I think this is a very niche need and a good chunk of the results would be inaccurate anyway without plenty of human intervention, making it too taxing to keep up with. I don't know about you, but I don't know anyone on our team that wants to go through over seven thousand cards to make sure they're correctly flagged with how many lines of text they have :D
I do appreciate your enthusiasm for the feature though. Let us know if you ever have any other ideas!
Well it's useful for card creators to have references for cards with few lines. We have a (non functioning) filter to sort by the species of the character in the art, so why not also have one for lines of text?
I think Galakrond is more likely to be raised. He's the big skeleton next to the temple and heavily tied into the origin of the Dragonflights themselves. Perhaps we'll get the past-versions of the dragon aspects when they fought Galakrond and get a version of Deathwing back when he was a good guy and protecting the earth. Would be different at least.
Galakrond isnt a wel known character in the WoW-lore, but he is very important. If the next WoW-expansion is about repowering the Aspects, a HS-expansion is a good option to retell that story. If Blizzard wants to go down that road.
Since both are announced at the same evening I hope this is true.
Given its between purple (for E.V.I.L.) and orange (for Explorers) my guess is it representing the uncertainty around which League will win. It sounds like there is no official winner until the player base has done something, probably like how MSoG had no official winner of the 3 gangs (though gameplay showed the Jade Lotus won that showdown).
As for cards themselves, I wouldn't be surprised if each member of the 2 Leagues were central figures of another legendary card (like they were in the Uldum quests), but I doubt there will be new twisted versions of them themselves. As you said, it would be a bit boring to have the more cards of the same character, but their appearances in card art can help tell the narrative.
Purple is the color of the League of EVIL, so a card glowing purple might represent a League victory. Right now in the Battle.net client I'm looking at an ad for the Hex and Flex bundles, of which the left side is Rafaam on a purple background and the right side is Reno on a yellow/orange background, so the other card color might simply represent an Explorers victory.
Based on hints from one of the brawls, I think there will be some additional twist that involves Nefarian, but I can't find any evidence for that in this teaser. I never played WoW though, so it's very much possible I didn't pick up all hints available.
Because Rafaam is only a puppet to a larger evil at work here! The Old Gods are influencing these events to a greater end of their own design. Why else would a no-name fortune teller like Lazul suddenly become a fixture in Hearthstone if not for her masters being the real puppeteers in these affairs?!
The cards on the table is constantly switching colors.. any ideas what it means? I say maybe we will get a redeemed/corrupted version of our lovely heroes and villains, albeit a bit boring, though.
I just wanted to express my hopes and wishes. Why do you assume something negative?
Because the internet?! A place where the majority of things posted are negative. And to be fair I wasn't necessarily trying to be negative either. Sorry if it came off that way. But yes, DRAGONS!!
She's bundled up for the cold weather, and the mask around the eyes was part of the League of EVIL theme when they were robbing Dalaran of their... well, of Dalaran. They all had them in the trailer while dropping into the city.
I actually speculated on that a LONG time back earlier this year when discussing the possible third expansion with a friend. But at that time I was thinking Caverns of Time and maybe a trip back in time to stop the early aspects from defeating him, at which point the Old Gods would try to corrupt him to do their bidding. Which was my reasoning for why Lazul was brought into this mess in the first place: she's the real puppeteer, pulling the strings to do the will of her masters, the Old Gods! Rafaam was simply played to think it was all his idea, but he too has been manipulated by the whispers from the shadows. I mean, how could a low level villain like Rafaam steal Dalaran in the first place, if some influence of other powerful beings wasn't already at play? The Old Gods look to try and return in WoW at the same time they try to return in Hearthstone!
That was my theory anyway, and some of it still may fit.
The location is Wyrmrest Temple in Northrend, you can see Dalaran floating near the temple. So the snow and clothing is definitely due to the location.
It would appear that the community's thoughts since the first teaser for the entire year in April were correct: Dragon themed expansion to end Year of the Dragon. But what? What will be the story of the third set? Personally, I want to see something with corrupted Dragon Aspects. As in an alternate reality where they were ALL corrupted by the Old Gods, not just Deathwing. Not sure what the effects could be, but could be pretty sweet! We've already seen some potential alternate versions in WoW. Norzdomu has his crazy alternate version Murozond, Malygos went mad and had to be killed so a Malygos the Mad could be possible, Ysera was plagued with the Emerald Nightmare before her death in WoW... All we'd need is an alternate version of Alexzstraza. Maybe a more Deathwing-like figure where she really only brings death as opposed to life and death (as her current voice line suggests when played).

There are new villians in WoW:
1 Mua'Zala, Father of Sleep.
2. Nozdormu seems to time travel, he seems corrupted as well as his alternate counterpart.
[Mythgard] Awesome Lethal from Moonlight Masquerade

1) The video is 70 seconds long.
2) This is the 3rd expansion in the year 2019.
3) 2019/(70*3) = 9.6.
4) Round down to eliminate 0.6 since Dalaran crashed = 9
5) 9 is the square of 3
HALF LIFE 3 CONFIRMED YOU GUYS! IT'S CONFIRMED!

It would be cool if they let us vote what will happen in next year. Maybe in single player adventure.
And also, the purple and orange colors are not just the league of EVIL and the league of explorers colors?

How is Rafaam the leader of the league of EVIL and yet the warlock is the weakest since the rotation...?
