Maybe the name of the year doesn't require all sets in that year to have Dragons? I know it's likely sarcasm, but these types of comments are a bit ridiculous as even if the first set had a lot of dragons, the second and third would likely not have. It would be terrible in a design sense to just push a ton of Dragon cards all year long.
That said, the name for the year was likely on purpose and leading to this final set. The community was mostly guessing something dragon themed in expansion three since the first teaser image for the entire year, and with Wyrmrest Temple in Lazul's crystal ball I'd say that a dragon-themed third set is all but certain now.
The main question to ask is what will we see? In the solo content for Uldum **SPOILER** there is a mention of a "final plague" that unleashes evil long since dead. In the solo content it puts the four old gods on the opponent's board, but could it be a reference to bringing Deathwing back to life? Elise already has three cards, why not Deathwing? He was serving the old gods in his attempts to destroy the world through the Cataclysm after all. Another option could be bringing the Crazed Aspect Malygos back to life. Or perhaps we'll get corrupted versions of all the dragon aspects!!!
Anyone think there’s any significance to the snow? They were last in a desert area which can be cold, was more of your stereotypical hot desert. This time out the window was snow, as well as you can see the characters bundled up for warmth. This could just be because it’s a December launch? Or is there a more snowy location for this next expansion
I am intrigued by the Ra Warlock. It's the first unique and impressive thing that the class has been able to do in some time. It's probably not enough for the class to catch on, especially as the greediest decks love to play Hakkar. But I'm glad that it exists.
I mainly play paladin and just open Sir Finley of the Sands from a pack, always wondering should i also craft Zephrys the Great for all of highlander paladin variation out there..
Zephrys the Great is probably the most all-around craft-worthy legendary from the set--it's used in 28% of all decks right now. Unless you already have that dust earmarked for something else, you probably wouldn't regret crafting it.
I think the RNG aspect of Shaman is being overplayed. The deck is absolutely overpowered right now, but not because of RNG.
Off evolve, you are almost always getting better than what you gave. That is consistent. How much better does vary, but it's nearly always better. The mana cheat is why Evolve/Hare/Mogu/Mutate hurts so much.
And sure, sometimes every roll is a titanic lackey. But with double battle cries, variance evens out really quickly. And besides, all the Lackey's are incredibly powerful for their mana cost. That you get so many of them is where the real power comes from.
TL;DR Shaman is undoubtedly overpowered right now, but RNG swings aren't really to blame.
Hey Wizards of the Coast reprints older cards into new sets for MtG all the time, no reason Blizzard can't do the same with HS.
This is basically Kibler's argument for having a rotating "Core" set rather than a forever in standard Classic/Basic set. It allows old stuff to come back, change it up from time to time, keeps the Standard meta feeling more fresh! It's an idea I'm all for, even if it becomes a whole new constructed mode as opposed to just the new Standard mode.
It could be something like "The last four or five card sets PLUS a mix of Classic, Basic, and Cards from older sets to make up a "core" of cards. They could even offer "core packs" in the store, with the current mix of Core cards available to pull from the packs... Could be dope! A good name for this mode? "Modern"? Since it's a newer type of Standard game? Or maybe it becomes the new Standard format and current Standard becomes "Legacy"?
I'm just itching for any change to the game that continues to make it feel fresh and new. Maybe bringing small Wild sets in like this on a regular basis can be that change.
Sometimes, when an opponent ropes me every turn from turn one, I rope him back starting turn 3 or 4, and most of the times it tooks like 2 turns before they start to play in regular speed.
When I see that my opponent is playing slow because he looks like he is thinking I never rope back.
Personally, i value my time more than that of my opponent, so i would never get into a rope battle, for a sealed match, just to fight fire with fire...
1) If I get roped first, almost always on Turn 1 - that tends to get people to knock it off.
2) If I'm playing in Casual and come up against someone playing Tier 1 netdecks to gold farm those of us playing memes (as just happened with 6 Secret Highlander Paladins in a row this morning). As soon as I see what you are I rope every. single. turn. You want that easy win? Sure, but I'm going to suck up as much of your time as I possibly can. The more time you're stuck with me, the less time you can bother other people and I can just as easily read the news while I wait for my timer to burn down each turn.
Fundamentally, my philosophy is the same as that of 2nd century Chinese warrior-sage Zhuge Liang: "If you don't give a damn, we don't give a fuck (Hey!) Don't start no shit, it won't be no shit!" Truly a wise, wise man.
I guess that would be helpful if you're looking for cards with small or no effects... Normally when I'm searching for a card with a specific effect I just name the effect. Like "draw" or "destroy", and other things that both start with "D". I sometimes even search for effects that don't start with the letter "D"!
But I digress, I usually am searching for a card with an effect I want to include, and want to see all options I have regardless of how many text lines they have. Which can be done by searching a specific word/term.
I tend to get roped more than this one friend of mine (who rarely does) so I told him once "I just do it back when they do it". I'm often watching something while playing anyway, so who cares! But he told me that's immature and I'm just adding to the issue. When I told him it actually gets them to start playing faster because they are annoyed that roping isn't annoying me. He was almost shocked that it works that way.
And also, thank you! I appreciate you and the good you do for this community! LOL!!!
So, did you ever made something in hearthstone that felt like a public service? I just though about it while I am still battling a 2xxx armor druid. He won the moment he got to that armor count. I had no way of winning, but then... He started roping... And well I just followed him... So here we are... 20 turns into his fatigue still roping. And I feel is the best someone can do with this kind of players. Just make sure they dont do the same to anyone else. And get them in a game for as long as you can. if you were about to stop playing and just wanted to watch some youtube.
All because he started roping...
Did you ever had a moment like this when you thought... Oh.. This will make other peoples day better? Wanted to know your thoughts...
Hearthstone Expansion Teaser - Choose Wisely
Yes, we are seeing Wyrmrest Temple, the headquarters of the Dragonflights in Northrend.
Hearthstone Expansion Teaser - Choose Wisely
My guess is that the snow is a sign of Northrend, the coldest continent.
Lazul is probably speaking from a tavern in there.

Of course Supreme Achreologist Rafaam will win.
