If you think for one second that I'm bitter about not being in their pocket, you are an idiot. Do you know how easy it is to be in Blizzard's pockets? Because anybody can do it, you just have to be willing to play by their rules. I've never played by their rules.
The stakes were never very high though. Hearthstone was young, they needed the big people in the community more than those people needed them so as long as you weren't hosting your own cosby suite that the world knew about, they didn't care and would work with you.
I have a record of calling them out on their bullshit, I have a record of datamining their games, and I have a record of ignoring their requests because I value independence. The new guard on the Hearthstone team doesn't like that and they really don't like when they make mistakes (like uploading their data to a public cdn) and then people talk about them publicly.
The Hearthstone team has every streamer in their corner, deciding what they can and cannot say. Notice how quiet people are during leaks and datamining? Yeah, it's not allowed to be talked about because people know if they do they risk ruining their relationship with the company and then they won't get invited to events. I'm not going to hold stuff back from being published, that's how you make money.
Out of Cards has always been for-profit and independant. No one dictates what we post and it isn't possible to run large websites anymore without a business model in mind. Companies can ask us if we'd like to post about a certain topic, and they do, but they don't dictate if the message goes out or what the message looks like. That's shitty content. Blizzard's Gear Store team regularly talks to me about the new products they have. Sometimes we post about them, but it's rare. In that scenario it has to be products I think would fit well with the audience and I'll tell you, Overwatch merch does not fit with the audience here.
They're more tight-lipped in a lot of the data in the client these days. Sometimes we see stuff that could be interesting, like the DK Location image, and I think I screwed up by not posting about that particular asset this time around because ultimately is gave us DK and it would have been a killer headline. I ended up not though because I didn't think about it very much.
I wrongly assumed they were just catching their assets up as a precaution. I would not have ever predicted a class at the end of the year, though it does make sense with Wrath of the Lich King back on and alive and the end of the Hearthstone year always being weaker for them than the start. It'll be very interesting to see the numbers and what the start of next year looks like.

I'm very well aware of what their intention was - to do something silly. They clearly had a second-thought about it though because the tweets referenced in the article have since been deleted.
I'm not at all embarrassed and never will be. I'll continue to hold Blizzard to a higher standard. Their staff complained on Twitter about news outlets dropping bombs on them when the company was up to no good during the start of a card reveal season, well, in my eyes, they're now the people that are putting up junk in their reveal season.

Misinformation is when you post something that isn't factual but your intent was not to deceive people. Disinformation is when there is deliberate deception involved. I don't believe Blizzard created disinformation here which is why it solidly falls into the misinformation category. Intent it what matters here. They made a mistake and they got called out on it.
If the Corpse mechanic was for every classes, then this might have been tinkered with, but as it is, I fail to see a real use out of DK or maybe arena?

Some folks call me a Blizzard shill, others call me a Blizzard hater, I just call it like I see it because we have witnessed one of the greatest gaming companies become a tenth of what it used to be. I really hope that Microsoft's acquisition of their IP and talent ends up being a positive for their titles because they certainly need all the help they can get.
That's a pretty decent healing effect for (3) mana, but I doubt that the mass-healing is really going to be that useful Depending on how the meta settle, this might see a few plays here and there
If you need an AoE, you certainly don't need an half-ass one like this, nor do you want this body to replace your previous board. Kinda lackluster, may be acceptable option (sometimes) in Arena
Sure, sometimes you are forced to draft an absolute poop of a deck. Personally I don't find it happening too often
I did.
I had offerings where not a single bucket -- not one -- produced a card that could make a deck viable. I've had plenty where I wasn't offered a single spell, as I've already mentioned. What you're missing is that there is no skill issue there. If every bucket offering is "you can't win," then you can't win. During these build processes, not a single actual decision-point presented itself -- much like Tavern Brawls where your cards available are so limited that you literally have no decisions to make all game save play and concede.
The counterbalance here is iteration. The parallel in poker is getting a completely nonviable hand that you shouldn't even bluff with given your shown cards. In poker, that's fine because a hand plays out in under a minute and you move onto the next rapidly. In Arena, you can experience deck-build times of several minutes. So a non-game takes longer to work out. People who love Arena accept this cost. People who don't do not.
With the new patch, post-game Boosters will favor cards in your deck for which you currently own fewer than 20 Boosters; so if you've got a deck with a lot of high-upgraded cards you can swap in one of those underused cards and have a better chance for getting Boosters for it.
Generally speaking, it's only more efficient to upgrade to Uncommon (25/5 for 1 CL) - every other upgrade gives the exact same Collection Level boost for the amount of Credits/Boosters spent (50/10 for 1 CL). So once you've got them to Uncommon there's not too much reason to keep grinding for their Boosters if you don't have a deck that wants to play them.
You might be onto something, and we have a day of Frost Rune cards ahead of us. With Frostmourne these days, I'm also not convinced. There weren't good conditions for expensive weapons for a longer while. But maybe if DKs can gain health and stall, you could justify face tanking larger minions. Although there is always that temptation to just hit your opponent straight for 5...

Perhaps it just got lost among Hearthstone constantly delivering on all cylinders, if you were mainly checking the frontpage and not filtered by game-specific news.
One way or another, this must've definitely created some confusion among people from what we saw and didn't go down all too well, since the Battle.net tweets appear to have now been deleted. Throwing out any fake/custom/other cards right during the reveal season is risky when you are the official account with a wide platform; it's the kind of lessons we have already seen in the past.
The people in the know and the dedicated players (like most around these parts) will be always able to tell things apart, but this might not carry over to anyone who maintains only a very superficial connection to the game. Or those press outlets that don't cover Hearthstone regularly, but might mistakenly jump on the opportunity with "look how crazy stupid overwpowered cards they made!!!" while never researching the context (you'd be surprised how many of those are there on the world wide web).
I'm sure it was well-intentioned and harmless (in their minds) fun by Blizz, just didn't quite land with the awkward timing. If they have only thought to wait for a better moment, could've been a good nostalgic joke with no strings attached.

We could debate the merits of what is and isn't misinformation; the initial tweet arguably treaded that fine line, while meant well. Personally I wouldn't want to see a precedent where it's suddenly okay to randomly go "hey check out these new cards, haha, not really" because we just wouldn't see the end of it.
It didn't make me angry or anything, there are ambivalent feelings at most; seemingly as with most of the audience out there. But we're all bound to have some different perspectives on this whole thing depending on our involvement. Shrug it off, didn't quite work. Making fun of them for this strangely timed attempt, fair game too.

Usually misinformation covers important topics which can make a big influence on a community or even an entire country, such as elections, laws and mandates where people's lives will be at stake. Meanwhile Hearthstone is just a video game, whether or not these virtual cards are real won't cause the apocalypse or anything.

How do I level up useless cards?
