  • Will you buy tombs of terror?

I think I'll be sitting this one out as well. Been a while since I've skipped additional content, but a third rehash of dungeon run just won't cut it for me.

Just two months later, the situation is totally different lol

Absolutely not, for a f2p is such a bad deal using gold and I don't want to spend real money on this, there are a lot of games less repetitive with a better value than this kind of adventures, which are the same (more or less) since dungeon run (released on December 2017, not yesterday). I hope next time they will create something brand new...

yes it's kinda of the same content but it's always feels different somehow, dalaran's heist was really fun don't know if you really played it or not but it was worth it.

on the bright side the free content (the first wing) grants 3 packs which is great really.

I couldn't afford to spend the money on it this time, so I would have bought it with in-game gold as I just love singleplayer content, the reward for completing itis just an extra for me. Also if buying with cash, I would have waited until after the release so I could buy it cheaper.

I'm not 100% sure about it since I'm waiting to play the free wings in order to draw some conclusions, but I think I won't buy it.

I have quite a few reasons to do so:

    1. Except minor changes, it's the same Dungeon Run stile adventure: yeah, the Bartender stuff is cool, different treasures and characters, but it doesn't differ that much (e.g. Boom Puzzles), but the free wing may change my mind
    2. It has less rewards than Dalaran Heist (ok, Zayle is trash and you can't even disenchant it, but at least it was something: maybe they should bump the rewards to 4 packs in order to compensate, I don't know)
    3. Saviours of Uldum has a lot of strong cards and, unfortunately, I've found very few good stuff in my previous 80 packs (yeah, very bad luck)
    4. If I just want to have fun, I have a second profile with 9k gold created just for that purpose (and arena)

To be honest, as things are now I'd rather buy the last two wings of One Night in Karazhan than buying Tombs of Terror.

Will buy it with gold, and complete it on both Normal and Heroic because the cardbacks are rad. I also suspect that they might be an extra reward to be announced with the last chapter. Can't wait to play it!

Gonna have to try that quest rogue! Seems fun

  • Will you buy tombs of terror?

I've been saving up gold and plan to keep my F2P style while still getting the story.

  • Will you buy tombs of terror?

I bought the Dalaran Heist for gold because I didn't preorder Rise of Shadows. I did preorder Saviors of Uldum, so I'm going to buy Tombs of Terror with in-game gold. I have already saved more than enough gold for it.

    Guys, forget about secret mage

There is a new cancer from 5 up, that's Sn1p-Sn4p/Mecha'Thun combo.... if you like playing Reno decks, like me, then you'll find a hard time against it, since they run at least 3 different combos in it and can trample you as soon as turn 6.

About hand-buff paladin, it is beatable with Reno decks...

    Good luck with that...

I bought Dalaran for gold, even if it was not worth it for the gold/dust ratio, simply because it was Dalaran.

I don't feel the same appeal for Uldum, so i think i will just skip and save the gold this time.

I mean, if you consider any deck that’s able to beat you before turn 10 to be aggro...

    Most are midrange and tempo.

  • Will you buy tombs of terror?

Sadly there's no poll option here yet will you buy the adventure?

if you do did you preorder, plan to buy after release or will you spend gold on it?

personally I spent 2800 gold on dalaran's heist and I am not regretting it at all I already have 700 gold for the adventure's first wing and I am planning to gather all in gold since more or less you do earn 700 gold a week.

I shot to rank 5 pretty quickly with a budget token Druid with a Beast twist (See here https://outof.cards/hearthstone/decks/7553-budget-tokenaggro-druid , look, upvote, give me presents! I'll write a guide eventually). I'm currently Rank 4, and climbing, albeit slowly. What I've found so far:

    1) Secret Mage is strong, but definitely skill dependent. Some matches I dominate, some matches I lose hard, and I feel a basic level of skill in the mage player is the deciding factor. I don't think Flame Ward is the biggest concern, but printing Arcane Flakmage and Ancient Mysteries in the same set was a mistake. I'm managing a slightly over 50% win rate against them, but it's always a tough game.

    2) Reno decks, especially Reno Mage have gained a lot, as well as fitting in well as a counter to Secret Mage.

    3) Weapon tech is back on the menu. A lot of Reno decks I've played in the last few days has been running an Ooze.

    4) There's not a huge amount of board clears being run at the moment, so I'm anticipating decks like Even Shaman and Odd Paladin to make a comeback. The main board clears I've seen have been Arcane Flakmage, Flame Ward and stuff generated by Kazakus/Zephyrs. This is helped by a lack of Warrior and Priest.

    5) Quest Druid seems to have fallen off hard.

  • Amet - beaming sidekick interaction

Not unless you change Amet's wording from "Whenever you play a minion.." to "After you play a minion....". "Whenever"-triggers always happen before the thing that triggered them resolves.

As for changing the interaction, I think Amet & cancer priest are strong enough without additional help.

  • SoU Wild meta

Reviving this thread, because it seems to me we are approaching some shape of a meta in Wild.

Surely Secret Mage keeps shaping the meta, primarily contested by the plethora of Reno decks.

However, I think Secret Mage is losing part of its initial traction, if anything because people are now used to play around Secrets, and toppling that skill with a Secret tech can often be game winning.

On the other hand, I noticed pretty soon a surge of Handbuff Mech Paladins, but today, curious about these Paladins being probably more common than Odd Paladin, I looked for them in HSReplay, and indeed, they appear to be incredibly consistent, at least in the current meta.

    https://hsreplay.net/decks/#playerClasses=PALADIN&gameType=RANKED_WILD

    https://hsreplay.net/decks/Vod0Nr3NxaOiWT4m62PV1f/#gameType=RANKED_WILD&tab=overview

I find them incredibly vulnerable to my typical Wild decks, because I appear to prefer decks that happen to include techs against Buffs (Devolve, Freezing Trap, Spellbreaker), but looking at those charts, the decks seems to be the new Meta Enemy. So I wanted to ask, how can this deck be so apparently consistent, given all the efficient techs that Wild can include against it, starting from the neutral and evergreen Spellbreaker himself?

Also, this deck uses no new cards from SoU, but I don't remember seeing many of them pre-SoU. What happened here? Secret Mage can't account for this alone.
