I bought it with money because I like to horde gold for the next expansion starting about a month after current xp launch. I really didn't care for RR's single-player so bought Dalaran Heist with gold because of trepidation about quality, but that was a total blast so definitely have high hopes for this one. Just not super sure how Bob has a tavern open inside a millennium-old tomb?...
Dark Chronos now has the silver Legendary Dragon. The Adept and Expert Sandmancers have been changed to Jr. and Sr. Sandmancers. While originally an intentional diversion, it is better for the sake of consistency (thank you Cogito for the feedback on Discord).
Part of the problem with adding new quests like you mentioned for Boomsday or Uldum would be they’d Ben somewhat locked begin having more cards for that expansion (Magnetize probably isn’t coming back for awhile, and new players won’t have any quest cards)
I feel like there needs to be a "refreshing" of the daily quests - not so much the gold (though more would be great obviously) but just the quests themselves are feeling a bit stale and don't really "add" much usually. So am curious if anyone has thoughts on new quests they'd like to see and what quests would you be happy if they removed forever?
My additions would be more around deckbuilding goals. They already have the "play 6 pirates"/"play 6 cards that cost 8 or more"/etc. so I think they should expand on that to keep the flavor going on each expansion and to encourage using the new cards. This already happened once with Witchwood with "I Can't Even/The Odds Are Against Us" for even/odd costed cards, so it's a shame that seems to be the only time they've ever tried that. So for example on Boomsday they could have added 50g -"magnetize 5 Mechs" or 60g - "create a Magnetized mech that's at least a 10/10", SoU they could have 60g - "complete 4 quests" or 80g "defeat your opponent before they complete their quest". That type of thing.
As for what I'd love to see go, the "Win X Games With [Classes]" needs to be buried forever for two main reasons: 1) I don't have data to support this, but my strong belief is that for most people who don't tend to a play a class they get the quest for, they just grab the strongest netdeck they can build and jump in Casual to complete their quest. This sucks when I'm trying to meme it up in Casual and run into say Murloc Paladin. I've actually friended a few people over the years that have done this and most have actually said that's why they were playing a T1 deck in Casual - to complete their quest as fast and easily as possible or becuase they were new to the game and it was the only way they'd be able to do it. 2) Again totally anecdotal but whenever I get this quest I cannot seem to STEAL the win(s) needed to complete it. This is the genesis of my creating this thread today - Win a game with Rogue quest, so I'll just use my Quest Rogue I have a 51.4% win rate with. Oh look at that - I lost 5 games in a row before finally getting a win. This happens so much I cannot stand it because it just feels extra bad to lose when "there's something on the line" so to speak.
So what does everyone else think? Good ideas for new quests? Quests you want burned to the ground?
But without Siamat/Thalnos/Vulpera/Edwin (I dont got those) I have gadgetzan acutheneer the one that draws your cards.
Sorry: When i write this down i just realize this is a total different deck XD I use the shuffle 1 mana cards and the lifesteal weapon.
Wanted to ask dont u need more carddraw in this deck but its probally played way different. Still posting this tho gonna try this deck out with some different stuff
I've been watching sporadically through the season (usually leave it up on the weekend and watch/listen when I'm not busy outside) and I've received 7 packs so far, so I'd recommend to log in. I had it up prior to the pack drop incentive at times and the number of viewers jumped by 1000% (this is not exaggeration... went from 3,000 max to 30,000 when I've been on). Free stuff motivates!
League of Explorers, Dungeon Run and Dalaran heist are my top three. Of the classic adventure format, LoE hits the right balance between difficulty, fun, variation, etc. whereas Naxx and Blackrock have a couple of bosses that are stupidly powerful & require ridiculous cheesy highrolls to win, like Maloriak and Drakkisath. The later adventures like Karazhan and KotFT were disappointingly easy IMO.
Of the dungeon run types, the original K&C dungeon run deserves credit for being the first, but also for being one of the better ones despite several attempts at improvement. The RR version is too limited due to the reliance on Loas which really hurts the replay value, and the witchwood hunt feels anticlimactic because you don't get to fight Hagatha with the deck you collected during the hunt.
Dalaran Heist feels like 3 wings worth of content spread over 5, but there are a lot of improvements to the dungeon run format that increase the replay value, like extra hero powers, decks, random decks, anomalies, etc, which is why it still makes the list.
As someone who only played a little WoW I find these articles to be really great; please do keep them coming! As to your request for idea submissions, my suggestions would be:
1. A national geographic-style anthropology article of some of the minor races that seem to have decent backstory, especially the mobs or races that show up in a lot of card art. So basically more like the Tol'vir article you did last month. So maybe a Murloc article?
2. Family history type articles on some of the main players in the current cards. So take for example the Greymanes: how did the come to rule Gilneas, who/what killed Prince Liam and how did he come back as a ghost, what's their beef with any of the antagonists (Godfrey, Glinda, etc).
Naxx will be forever my favourite, maybe because it was the first i don´t know for sure. The recent model has been very fun too, but the old ones have the nostalgia effect in their favour.
if you made this deck a wild deck you could also include Sideshow Spelleater which would be a much more reliable way to copy the opponent's quest. especially because then you wouldn't have to complete the quest yourself, and also the window of opportunity would be waaaaay bigger.
Can't believe how many people are saying that this would "deny opponent's draws". Even after someone pointed out above that that's not how "Cast when drawn" cards work. Do people read the thread before posting? Or tooltips for that matter?
As far as I know, no one above mentioned that cast when drawn automatically draws you a card.
before cast when drawn was a keyword(s?) I am pretty sure it specifically mentioned drawing an extra card, but then they chaged it into a keyword that automatically drew you a card. The keyword is not a very common one so please excuse my mistake.
@Ravensun, after looking at all of your cards, I think I like the second one the best. I like summoning Taunts better than just 1/1's because I feel like the taunts would do more to affect the board. The third card looks super neat, however I feel like maybe a 5/5 for 5, or a 6/6 for 6 would be more balanced. just because then aggro decks would have a better chance of getting out their early cards.
An interesting idea, but one that might be a bid difficult. In general, only a minority of cards featuring certain races are of any relevance to the actual race. Boisterous Bard, for example, could really be any race, but they decided to make it an orc. This would make it difficult to be able to feature all the cards relating to a race and still have something to say about them. If you have any ideas about how to get around things like this, I'd be happy to hear them.
That's the plan, lol. I just couldn't do it because I wasn't writing for the site back then. When new cards come out, those are the top priority for me to help explain. I'm using this down-time in between story reveals to try and play catch-up is all. Current plan is to look over any lore related to Tombs of Terror when all of it comes out, but I'll need a couple more articles to fill it all up until then.
With Tombs of Terror Launching soon I was wondering wich adventure was your favourite after all this years and how would you rank them (if you want to take the time to rank them)
(NAX, BRM, LOE, Karazam, KFT, K&C, Monster Hunt, Boomlabs, Rumble Run, Dalaran Heist and in case you reply later, tombs of terror)
Personally my favourites are Naxx and KFT. I feel nostalgia can maybe help Naxx right now, but I just felt the litch king fight in KFT as well as the Intro were just amazing.
Edit: As I now have more time in my hands, I rated the adventures on each category (being last doesn't mean being bad, I really enjoyed all of them, some more for the gameplay and some others for their flavour.)

I first heard about it on a Hearthstone podcast I was listening to as they were talking about the Twitch drops. However, I have tried to find it in Twitch's T&C and I cannot find it anywhere. Some people on reddit tested it and found it to be true by seeing if the viewer was lost when a stream was muted. Then there are others saying that's not the case *shrug*.
I am not sure it would be something Twitch would advertise anyway. It could also be down to Chrome and nothing to do with Twitch.
I'll go with just turning the volume down if I'm not actively watching it just in case. I usually watch all the EU / NA games I can anyway.
I use Chrome, been watching all the streams so far ~6 hours per day by average. I just left my PC on and I MUTED the stream. I watched a few games, though, and so far I have received 4 packs.
Can I just say something that might help those that are not getting packs.
You might just be unlucky which is very possible, I personally only got two packs but I learned something that helped.
If you have the volume muted (so there is an X over the volume button) you are not counted as a viewer on Twitch and therefore not eligible for packs. I say this as I know there are lots of people (including myself in the past) that had a tab open and muted just so I was 'watching' the stream.
You can have the volume right down to just above the minimum and that still works. I don't know whether muting the tab (in Chrome) works or not, it should but I've not tried it.
That's interesting, but what I can add is that I have muted tab (of course not all the time cos I was watching too) and it was work.
Will you buy tombs of terror?

Yep, you're right, a 6/6 could be more fitting for such an impactful and versatile tech card.
Traversing Azeroth - The Troll Loa
Maybe delve into the Ogre backstory. I know there are several tribes and they have been a major part of the story going way back.
Here's hoping we get a Dire Maul expansion!

Dungeon Run was top tier for me because of the D&D flavour.
Heist of Dalaran comes second.
I wish i could say Monster Hunt close third, but i actually feel the Gilnean flavour was exceedingly dispersed there...
Then come all the others.
With Boom Labs being my least favourite, both for theme and mechanics.

Steal the Opponent's Quest!
I freaking LOVE this idea. Partly because of how terrible a win condition it is. I mean, doesn't Chameleos always start as himself?
Will I try this? No, probably not, but I congratulate you on building and sharing this!
Traversing Azeroth - The Troll Loa
Zul'Aman Loas are the best ones imo.
As for the next topic, what about the story of a race? Like Dwarves or Orcs.
