Damn, nice job dude. I really like the flavor of some of these and in addition they would work great as secrets because there are so many different ones that trigger in different scenarios (although it would take quite some time to get used to if they would all be implemented into the game at the same time lol).
Quite a while ago I came up with these possible shaman secrets, and to my surprise they got a high enough rating on hearthcards to be put into the gallery. :D
I have to admit that your idea for overload secrets sounds even better than just 0 mana secrets for shaman though. I guess for storm trap and unstable mind the numbers could just be increased in addition to making them overload for (1). I'm not sure how I would change totemic protection though, maybe either give the totem divine shield or +1/+1 just before it is attacked?
What is also pretty funny is that when I tried to make some warlock secrets, I made them 4 mana as well:
As for a possible change to sudden betrayal, maybe something like:
'after a minion attacks your hero, it attacks one of its neighbours as well' OR 'after a minion attacks your hero, it attacks the enemy hero as well'
I wanted to ask for some opinions of which variant of Highlander Hunter is strongest or most efficient in most situations. I have seen many variants but can't quite make upmy mind about it. Would appreciate as many answers as possible :)
..though I need to face some really challenging matchup like secret mage or quest priests.. I did brick pretty hard once when mulligan gave me all my 6-drops.
I guess it comes down to whether you want to go for a massive C'Thun win, or an infinite Shudderwock win. The infinite Shudder can be super fun, but also inconsistent since he might Grumble before Doppel.
I feel more drawn to completing the Quest (which is worth the slot in your opening hand, and gives huge value later), then double-buffing C'thun with all his minions, then Shudderwocking for even more C'Thun buffs, then just playing a single huge C'Thun.
I also really like the idea of Cho. Stalling with clears like Earthquake and Hagatha's Scheme would work well, and giving them to your opponent would only stall longer, which is good for you. I might swap Devolve with Plague of Murlocs, since you'd rather Cho share that one.
As for Warrior, i think they should have no Secrets at all, as Secrets are not just an automatic reaction, but also something that is prepared, an ace up your sleeves. Warriors are not subtle enough to fit that concept (even Paladins are marginally so but one could argue the ways of the Light are subtle, but Warriors are not at all).
Are you saying that a nutkick is not subtle enough.
If a Warrior could arguably perform a nutkick, then why not Mage or Druid too?
In fact, a nutkick is something I would expect much more fitting for a Rogue.
That's a lot of work you done there. But Warriors seem to straightforward as a class to have secrets, they attack, they defend and they control the field. Secrets- at least under this name- do not really fit the tone.
Priests on the other hand, can be quite shady. Silencing, Copying and gaining insight and bringing back lost minions all could fit a secret theme.
Like, 2 mana:
Measured healing: at the start of your next turn, heal all friendly minions back to full.
Shade's shield: the next damage dealt to your hero heals him instead.
Memory trick: after a friendly minion died, shuffle two 1Mana copies in your deck.
Powerword retribute: after your hero was attacked, silence all enemy minions.
Shadowcopy: at the start of your turn, you get a copy of every card the opponent drew last turn.
The secrets are nice, but I still think secrets don't fill Priest playstyle because it's not a tempo class.

If Shaman gets Secrets, they should have Overload - with the twist that the Overload only triggers when the Secret is revealed. That lets you make Secrets with "different mana costs".
That would certainly be a unique twist but it wouldn't work gameplay-wise because it could backfire, and WILL backfire if your opponent knows how to play around them.
I see, just offering any suggestions to help. Looks like card draw isn’t as needed as we thought it was. Mind saying how the deck is working out so far?
Cool ideas like the Oozeling and Wurm stuff, they probably complete the quest super fast!
Probably cut the Secrets (except maybe Snake Trap?) + Subject Nein stuff, and replace with Cult Masters/Master’s Call. They are not impactful enough and too slow. Can also recommend maybe Bone Wraith or something? Unless that is way too slow for Wild.
Springpaws and Razormaws seem great, you could probably cut the Hunting mastiffs for them.
Piper is once again probably too slow, so how about Halazzi or Flark instead since Cult Master can handle the draw problems?
Cool idea but needs a bit of work. Atm curve seems a bit wonky, you could also cut one copy of Revenge and the Wildtamer for Animal Companion
Yea after testing I found out I consistently complete the quest before turn 10 . The secrest are there for early game and survival .. they're also good no matter what turn they're drawn so I kinda like em.. animal companion's strong but springpaw might be a dead draw.
You're right about piper though it's been useless so far.. tutoring the timber wolves don't really do that much. I don't have Flark but it'd work- not even conflicting with the silver vanguard.
I gotta test Cult master but in this matchup it'd be a liability:

We got two different boards in the original League of Explorers. The first one was the dig-site and the other was was the museum.
Forgot that those were both from the same expansion. Also, I'm noticing a theme here... the Explorers get together and bring two boards.
EDIT: I wonder if the original LoE had two boards due to the adventure taking place over several locations? Maybe we get two this time simply as a nod to the fact that LoE had two.
i would consider replacing acidic by gluttonous and vulpera with scarlet webweaver or with the 3/12 taunt ww bear. (just some thought upon first inspection). will give it a try, that's a neat winrate you're boasting there with a non-meta deck

Amet - beaming sidekick interaction
If I play the sidekick with an Amet in play. Targeting the Amet with the sidekicks battlecry.
Shouldn't the battlecry of the sidekick trigger first, giving the amet 9 life, and then gain 9 life itself?
Now the battlecry triggers, but the sidekick comes in play with 7 life.

Yeah, its “Clear the path!” Listened to it for a bit lol

You probably want to squeeze in Scavenging Hyena and Tundra Rhino.
Possibly some Cult Masters too. Or, maybe better, get rid of non-beasts and include Master's Call.

Just trying to have fun with the hunter quest and I figured I might as well get help from the neat people here.

-I'm definitely adding another Rat Pack in there- it's just great in this deck.
-Don't like the SN1P-SN4P- Oozeling interaction and the microbots are not beasts anyway..
-speaking of beasts, there might be a way to use the fact that all the tokens are beasts but Idk it yet.
What is Kobold Lackey saying?
In French she says "dégagez!" which means "get out". So "get back" sounds close enough.
