Thanks. I'm still swimming in credits now, but I've been planning around the assumption that I'll eventually run out. I'm "only" playing about 20 games/day, though, so if I keep up that pace maybe I'll hit the sweet spot where they even out.

Yeah, being unable to link acc before tutorial is upsetting as well. I unlinked my acc just to see what happens on another device (that was on launch day) and had to sit through it again. Thankfully I was able to link it back.

I do not understand why we are not allowed to choose from all possible heroes when starting a new run, so annoying. We are able to retire a run and the decrease in MMR is negligible, not that anyone really cares about that number anyways, I think. The decks is still going strong by the way, I hope you all enjoy it as much as I do.

It's not even a matter of belief, just simple facts. And for a player who is just starting out on their journey, more than likely to be true. Going by how the game itself values boosters and credits where it even gives you 50 of the latter for free daily from the shop, we can clearly tell that 30 boosters > 50 credits. It's the same on the Collection Level where (initially) you get 25 credits for every 5 boosters. But there isn't one ultimate answer, actually.

To elaborate: this is very much going to depend on the type of player you are or plan to be long-term. Reddit in general = more dedicated, grinders, hardcore, etc. But the majority of audience for such games tends to generally skew toward a far more casual crowd (we've seen as much with Hearthstone and the likes), whose time spent is in turn considerably limited. If you're knocking out dozens of games every day, you will be swimming in boosters. But if you aren't (but keep up with most daily/weekly missions), the opposite will be true. As it stands, there is a certain average you would need to hit daily for these scales to outweigh one another.

So all the usual advice you'll be seeing from streamers (there might be exceptions) and very engaged players will typically be the kind of advice based on their own perspectives and experiences, living and breathing Marvel Snap. Not necessarily applicable to mere mortals just hopping in on the side and occasionally playing a small-ish amount of matches. People who play a lot conveniently tend to forget how it might be like for somebody doing half of what they do, or even a third or a fourth (at best).

I can tell you some staff members here have seemingly now counted games well over hundred(-s),  and so far I've managed but a fraction of that amount. But we've all had the same amount of daily missions/weekly challenges and refreshes available (i.e. credits). In the end, time might not be a clearly visible in-game resource, but it's the one that always ends up being the most important.

Mind that I'm not even mentioning all these people who might be willing to pay more/some while actually playing less (for them money being less valuable than their time), and aside from the Season Pass they can only really buy gold to turn it into credits and card art variants, but not boosters. And that's also the audience the game is currently banking its entire business plan on.

This is the second time I've seen an OOC article call boosters more desirable than credits. Is this a long-running inside joke, or do you truly believe that? The universal opinion on Reddit was that people were excited to get credits instead of boosters, and disappointed when that was corrected the next day.

Didn't knew about such a feature, were playing for some days, luckily in my box were rewards for previous days.
    Ty for the post.

  • MARVEL SNAP's Hot Location is Kamar-Taj - Decks to Play!

    • Sunday's Hot Location that appears 60% more frequently for the next 24 hours.
    • Wednesday's Featured Location that appears 40% more frequently for the next 48 hours.

I'm pretty sure it's actually that Hot Locations have a 60% chance of appearing in the match.

Wouldn't "60% more" mean that a location's normal 1.54% chance of appearing would change to merely 2.46% chance of appearing? Which clearly isn't the case.

(Math assumes 65 locations in game and ignores the fact that there's 3 slots but you get my point.)

  • Merc equipment randomly switched?

    Pro

Yes, you can change equipment in specific parties, or in general. However, I have not changed the equipment for either merc any time recently. Even if I had, it would have changed their default equipment, not the one assigned in that specific squad. Feels like a bug to me.

As far as I can tell, I'm gonna just have to disregard everything I did on my PC, start over elsewhere, maybe redo in on PC and link it immediately, and just hope it works. . . or i just give up on the game now because I'm so annoyed by it. I've now done that stupid tutorial 3 times.

That is really unfortunate to hear. Yeah, while logging in via gmail might be more convenient for some, I can see how ppl without it might not like it too much. Then again, think of it as an account you would have to make for the game anyways, so imho not that big of a deal in the end.

The inability to link your account on PC is quite bad tho. Have you tried to verify integrity of game files via steam, or to reinstall it?

  • Reminder: Don't Miss Out on the Final Set of Your Free MARVEL SNAP Launch Celebration Rewards!

Well, I like the game, but so far it's forcing me to install it on my phone AND make a google account just to actually enjoy it fully. That seems sort of intrusive and unfriendly to me. Also, attempting to link it via PC afterward has so far been completely unsuccessful - nothing happens, and the support team has thus far ignored e'mails.

  • Merc equipment randomly switched?

Havent noticed it myself, having played some amount of mercs recently.

Its very likely you've set the equipment in general and not in the specific deck. It works the same way as the portraits, you can set different stuff for different decks. Even if youve selected a merc that's not chosen while having a deck up, it'll record it for that.

  • Steam account, different computers

You could say that - if you have Gmail set up, then you basically have a Google Account (that you should see in the top right corner if you use Google as your search engine). It just happens to provide some other functions as well.

It's also possible to create a Google Account with a different (non-google e-mail), for what it's worth.

  • Steam account, different computers

Ok, and this is, like, a Google mail, or do i have to make a google play account of some kind, and then link that? Ahh, Ben, making me jump thru needless hoops :P

  • MARVEL SNAP Is Now Live - Play on PC, iOS, or Android

I'm not sure about iOS, does Apple not allow to change place of residence for your registered account every once in a while? I know Google does, I believe every 6 months or so.

  • MARVEL SNAP Is Now Live - Play on PC, iOS, or Android

Yeah, the PC version can be considered lacking (so it's Early Access for a reason), and it can indeed be messy trying to link Google Account across devices. Probably not the best first impression in that case.

At least you gave it a proper chance afterwards. ;) The gameplay is indeed more engaging than I would've expected!

  • Steam account, different computers

There is a Steam customer review that seems to go into more detail on this, currently ranked as the 3rd most helpful on the store page. But yes, that's basically it: you would need to link your Google account *after* playing through the tutorial (the way it's been set up, it sounds like it might be safest to play through the tutorial separately on each device, and only then attempt to link to the main Google account afterwards).

You should've been given an in-game prompt to do so by that point (otherwise it can be found in the settings, the gear icon in the top left corner), and then your collection shoud be shared across all devices.

The Hearthstone community contains more people than just you you know? I'm a part of it, and I think that you stink.

  • MARVEL SNAP Beginner Tips and Early Decks To Play - Free Stuff, Helpful Hints, & More!

Tried it recently, might have a bigger addiction to this game than Hearthstone honestly. I knew I was going to enjoy it after watching a couple of gameplay footage but man this game is real bussin. It's pretty f2p friendly too and the cards are pretty balanced. I've only experienced pool 1 though.

It also has a very nice matchmaking system, which is based on your rank and your collection level. This means you won't be playing against people who have unlocked cards that you get way later. Excited to play more in the future.

  • Steam account, different computers

I've heard of this problem a lot in the pc version, kinda scared might happen to me too. Maybe link to a google account after tutorial might help?

  • How Progression Works in MARVEL SNAP

And yet this particular case seems to be far more layered than that. I've seen this particular advice a lot and have already had this argument several times, so care to tell me how I'm supposed to get more boosters over credits if I'm just casually playing a few games here and there, while mainly sticking to completing my daily/weeky missions? Hardly anything beyond that, time constraints let's say.

Even with using the shop upgrade several times I remain close to 4k credits, but no spare boosters. And for higher rarities it does take a lot more of them. If I haven't, my Collection Level would've been a lot lower, which in turn means having far fewer cards at my disposal. All the people telling me the same thing as you have stated above are pretty much the ones who've been playing dozens and dozens of games daily, which is a far different reality and a vastly different set of conditions.

Also there are a lot of cards you may never want to use past a certain rank, especially of the starter category. There is no casual mode or any other mode in Snap currently where you can play with such cards or even go to complete missions. Or at least it's not the kind of risks to take until you get to the guaranteed ranked floor level of 100 for Infinite, and how many players realistically will in these early weeks?

  • Steam account, different computers

Hey there, can't figure this out. . . downloaded and played Snap thru Steam account on PC. Like it, so signed into steam account on a laptop, but my account and collection aren't there, have to start over completely. What can I do to play my account on another computer?

  • Relic Demon Hunter

After the recent Maw and Disorder launch, the Relic Hunter bucket has worsened considerably. None of the mini-set Demon Hunter cards are related to Relics at all. Only Prosecutor Mel'tranix is worth picking. Developers being lazy and dropping the ball, IMO.

  • Lagging issue with every pageload ‼️

Since the big site update a couple of months ago, EVERY pageload is accompanied with a very annoying lagging issue in mobile browsers.

This always results in misclicks and very often causes you to navigate to a page you did not wanted to go to. Other times when the rich text editor is nearby an unexpected BBCode button gets misclicked.

Why has this lagging issue lasting several months not been acknowledged or fixed yet? Are bug reporters being ghosted on OoC now? Very frustrating!

Technically it would seem you did comment a few times in the past (then went dormant for a couple of years), just to similar head-scratching effects. I can see the Caps Lock button wasn't at least permanently stuck on your keyboard yet.

Trying to make sense of whatever "creative stink ideas by admins" and "trash highrolling the community" could ever mean is best left for brains far greater than mine.

So I suppose we shall await your hopeful recognition in our lives once we manage to snap some truly bad ideas into this stained existence.
