I believe that hero cards and huge end game minions like the Old Gods were super fun for the game. Sure a couple of times it could seem unfair when you played against Deathstalker Rexxar and he created the perfect zombeast for the situation but I believe that is more enjoyable than playing against decks that need 0 thinking when it comes to decision making. A perfect example would be Odd Paladin and the board spamming strategy (which is super infuriating to go up against.
I always loved big expensive minions with crazy effects. The Old Gods are some of my all time favorite cards. Moreover you required to build a deck around them if you wanted to find any success. That makes it even more fun because YOU got to decide what cards would best compliment your big end game powerhouse Old Gods. I really do hope they add cards similar to them in the future.
Symmetric effects that could last for a few turns or even for the rest of the game is a card type I would like to see implemented into the game. Let's say a card that would damage any player that would cost a spell for example. Effects that would act the same way for board players but you would make sure your deck could make use of that effect more than your enemy.
There are many things that could be done and new card types that could be made. My opinion is that the developers want to keep the game as simple as possible because they are afraid the player base would decrease if they were to add more complicated mechanics.
This is not a legend in ancient books, neither a god/demigod from the Warcraft lore, but a very cool ancient animal I used to be fascinated with when I was a kid: the Archaeopteryx.
It has a cool name and a very cool real life background from a scientific point of view. Maybe you can use it for your custom card, it seems kinda "inspirational" to me and I believe it fits the Hunter theme. ;)
As of now we have Quest cards, and Hero cards that have been added since the game launched. SoU will be the second expansion to show case Quest Cards. When creating custom cards it's often a challenge for me to either introduce a new card type, or a new mechanic in general. Do you think that the game of Hearthstone itself is self limiting to new mechanics/cards?
If you boil it down enough, Reborn becomes 'Deathrattle: Summon this minion with one health remaining.' which really isn't a mechanic but rather a rewording of an existing mechanic with an additional effect.
I ask because it's often difficult to come up with something that is absolutely a new concept to the game. [Hearthstone Card (Jaraxxus) Not Found] was the first 'Hero card' in the game but was also considered a minion so I don't know if it falls into that category.
And another question comes to mind. would the game benefit from big end turn minions like similar to the Old Golds for the wow factor?
I suggest hitting up https://wow.gamepedia.com/Wowpedia for finding names. Once upon a time, I used to name all my in-game pets within WoW and this was always my resource for finding some gems. Not to mention you can also get lost in some of the lore (if you're into that sort of thing).
Thank you for the deck highlight! I also love seeing what everyone else has been experimenting with too.
Also, shout out to MalcomReynolds for catching that my warlock deck actually doesn't need the Summoning Portal anymore. I honestly didn't notice it wasn't needed anymore after making changing post Summoning Portal stealth hotfix.
Btw, in lieu of Plague of Murlocs incoming soon I have to smile to also see non-shaman decks popping up to curbstomp Big Priest ;)
Good catch! It was an oversight by me, my bad. Prior to Summoning Portal getting stealth nerfed a few weeks ago I only used Emperor Thaurissan and not the Drakkari Enchanter, but after the nerf even having a tick of Emperor on every combo piece was no longer enough so that was when I added Drakkari.
You are absolutely right though about not needing the portal. Must have been on auto pilot and not doing my basic head math right when adding the Drakkari in the later version xD
I will replace the portal and update the guide later today or tomorrow when I get the time :)
I wouldn't let the legends of big priest scare you out of wild. they are not as bad, or as relevant as some people say.
I think that if you want to get back into wild than there is no better way to start than highlander decks. because they only require you to craft 1 copy of each card.
Well, after some googling, there is Akil'zon, eagle loa of the Amani trolls (https://wow.gamepedia.com/Ban%27thalos), but I think he's not that interesting. There's also Arikara, who, while not exactly a demigod, is a spirit of vengeance that manifests as a wind serpent (https://wow.gamepedia.com/Arikara) and is connected with Tauren, who are for me the archetypal hunters.
The truth is... I'm super excited and can't wait for the f..king release!!! :D :D :D The expansion doesn't seem to be perfect (which is understable in the end... that would be too much to ask to anyone...) but it seems to be a very good one overall!!! :D :D :D

Love the flavor of the deck and work you clearly put into both it and the guide. Keep it up, I'll definitely have to try it later!

you should craft him golden before opening any packs so that you don't accidentally crack a normal one

GrovesK's Reno Warrior
I want to try a greedy version with both N'zoth and Elysiana. I'll try to cut the Ghoul maybe. Good list otherwise. I love reno decks.
I'm excited! Are you?

Deathspeaker Geist Warlock
you don't actually need summoning portal for the combo to work. if you get the emperor to trigger twice than the combo goes like this:
Knife Juggler, which is 0
Tuskarr Fisherman, which is 0
Deathspeaker X2, which is 2 mana
Necrotic Geist, which is 4 mana
and Defile, which is 0 mana.
that all comes down to 6 mana. why is summoning portal even here?
How'd Your Pack Opening Haul Go?
133 Packs, 5 Legendaries and 33 epics. But I am happy, out of 33 epics i only got 2 duplicates. I will open 90 more packs with gold on Tuesday.
Some of you that got 10+ legendaries on 133 packs should be super happy.
I still have 90 packs to open on Tuesday with gold, and then of course the 2 golden Legendaries and the free quest.
Good luck to everyone
