I was just playing against an ETC warrior, fully aware that I was going to lose, but hey!

I'm not salty about the loss but I have to admit that the way I lost got me a little upset:

E.T.C., God of Metal reads After a friendly Rush minion attacks, deal 2 damage to the enemy hero.

However I was given the final blow by ETC itself - with a trade that killed ETC.

I'd reason that ETC wasn't alive after the attack, so I do not understand why he procced at all.

Is this a bug or is this interaction working as intended? (I can't recall any other card that procs after it dies)

Hey, just two comments about the ranking system I didn't hear anyone talk about much:

1) One small aspect: The fact that you don't get 10 gold after three wins leave you with coins you will never be able to use. I have 40 coins that once in a while turn to 90. It is an endless circle that will never turn to a- 100 (or 50) Gold that will allow me to purchase anything. 

2) Second bigger issue: With the new system I am actually playing less.  Before, completing a quest you got an instant reward. 50, 60, 80, 100 gold, and so on. You actually felt that if you are going to fill your quest log and not play, you will miss on gold and you will not be able to get as many packs. Now, I am free to play, so this is a big thing for someone who wants to use the next expansion. 
With the new system, I don't have that. I complete a quest, gives me a 1000 XP, and I still have 2000 XP more to go to get the next 100 gold, which I will get some time in the next three days. That removes the urgency of logging in. 

It is great for other things I have to get done, like studies and work projects, and teach my kid some school stuff, but not good for a company that wants to get its login ratings up and not down. 

Anyway, that is my experience, don't want to beat a dead horse, but just wanted to share a personal observation. 

Enjoy the post-nerf wild, I will probably not get in to play before tomorrow.

First off, I just want to say Out of Cards is my one and only source for all things Hearthstone ... you guys are killing it!

Occasionally we have a big news day, and I am confronted by numerous articles on the various topics of the day. On these (admittedly rare) occasions, I feel overwhelmed by the sheer number of articles, and wish there were just one big post with "Here's everything Blizzard announced today" or something. As sort of an example, today there was a post about Dean Ayala saying there would not be new classes any time soon, then another about the full Q&A containing that info and more. Why not just do one article?

I am curious what the rankings are for the 10 classes for wild players and why for which classes you like to play the most and are your favorite.  By rankings I mean ranking the classes from number 1 to 10.  Obviously this can change over time but it is still interesting to see what it is.

So Regiskillbin uploaded a new video featuring this really cool deck, which highrolls off of Tip the Scales and reportedly, it was apparently a “top tier deck” (I can’t tell if this was trolling or not). Has anyone actually fought it before or if it really is all that “good”?

I'm really loving the deck spotlights you've been doing recently. The guides are very well-written and the featured decks are very unique. However, I think it's a missed chance to not take community submitted decks from right here on OutOfCards. I think this would be a nice feature for the following reasons:

1. A lot of them already have written guides, minimising the effort for you guys.
2. It would be an extra impulse for people to submit their decks and write guides for them, since I think quite a lot of people would love to see their decks on the front page.
3. I think it would strengthen the community feeling on the website much like the custom card contests do.
4. You could spotlight good comments on the decks as well, giving an extra reason for people to comment on decks.

Anyway, keep up the good work!

Have you had a match where a player drops out early but, instead of falling to 0 HP, they're just permanently locked at their current HP? It's happened to me twice in the past week or so. They keep their player portrait on the sidebar but are Kel Thu'zad during battles. It's not just a visual glitch, they rank above me at the end and knock me down a place. Battlegrounds has always been a broken mess but this is just ridiculous IMO.

anchorm4n created a thread for book recommendations, and Koetti asked if comics counted (recommending Blacksad). I figured "hey, why not create a new sister thread just of comic recommendations? First a note though : actually buying comics is terribly expensive and impractical. If you're interested, I recommend trying to borrow trade paperbacks from your local library -- they are collections of 5-6 issues in a single ~130 page book, and most collect them just like normal books. Alternatively, the following online resources are great:

• If your library participates, https://www.hoopladigital.com/ is incredible -- you'll get ~6 free downloads every month, and they have a very respectable library
• "ComiXology Unlimited", "Marvel Unlimited", and "DC Universe Infinite" are subscription models, like Netflix for comics.

OK, recommendations (disclaimer, all these will be on the mature side of things) :

Saga, written by Brian K. Vaughan illustrated by Fiona Staples - 54 issues and going

Frankly, you should be suspicious of any list of great comics that doesn't at least acknowledge Saga -- it's just that good. Saga is a one-of-a-kind sprawling space opera that's like Romeo and Juliet meets Star Wars. Be forewarned that it is very R rated though and often goes over the top.

Hawkeye, written by Matt Fraction illustrated by David Aja - 18 issues

You know all those jokes that Hawkeye is the weakest Avenger? Matt Fraction doesn't just lean into that schtick; he buys it a steak dinner. But the real magic trick is how, in a universe full gods and world-ending threats, he gets you to instead care about the residents of a crappy apartment complex and a one-eyed dog. 

The Boys, written by Garth Ennis illustrated by Darick Robertson - 72 issues

OK yes there's a very popular Amazon series based on this series, but the original comics are fantastic in their own right! And they are different enough that, even if you're fully caught up with the Amazon version, the comics can still surprise you. The final twists near the end of the series are what really do it for me, though -- I don't think I can name another villain I've sympathized with so much yet at the same time needed to see him stopped.

Invincible, written by Robert Kirkman illustrated by Ryan Ottley - 144 issues

Another comic that's about to have an Amazon series! This is Robert Kirkman's homage to classic superhero comics, and he does a fabulous job reproducing all the standard tropes...only to break them when you least expect it. The story starts with the titular character in a "son of Superman" role, but it certainly doesn't stay there. Fantastic combination of engaging characters, thrilling plot lines, and some surprisingly bloody action sequences.

Lazarus, written by Greg Rucka illustrated by Michael Lark, 28 issues and going

I generally enjoy all of Greg Rucka's work, and he's done some premiere world-building with this series. It's set in a dystopian future where everything is ruled by 16 rival families who are constantly warring and making and breaking alliances with each other. Each family is allowed one special champion, a lazarus, to be imbued with death-defying regenerative abilities through either cybernetics, nanites, pharmaceuticals, or some combination thereof. The whole thing takes on a modern day Game-Of-Thrones vibe.

Red Sonja, written by Gail Simone illustrated by Walter Geovanni, 18 issues

I'd always been dismissive of Red Sonja -- the whole "barbarian in a chain-mail bikini" appearance felt like a trap. Gail Simone does some incredible work with the character, though, forcing me to reassess everything. The opening scene sets the series perfectly : bandits come across a half-sleeping Sonja, who lazily admits them she's probably too drunk to stop them from making off with her horse but not so drunk that they wouldn't regret trying more. What follows is a beautiful blend of drama and comedy that makes me wish it wasn't only 18 issues long. 

With the arrival of Darkmoon Races, we might have gotten the final pieces to revive the old Freeze Mage archetype!

Erodos' Imprisoned Phoenix OTK deck was the first list I've come across. The goal of this deck is to stall and draw until you've got your combo pieces together, a task Mage is really good at. The major difference between this deck and older lists is that you can't play around the Imprisoned Phoenixs. A really cool side effect is that you're able to mill unsuspecting opponents. In my own experience, you usually have to go to turn 10 to pull off the combo. It's certainly possible to do it earlier if you gamble to draw missing combo pieces during the 2 turns the Phoenixes need to prepare.

Bonus tip: Don't play Doomsayer the turn before your Imprisoned Phoenixes wake up :D

All in all, I have high hopes for a return of the Freeze Mage archetype. Both of them don't look like Tier 1 decks to me, but Tier 2 or 3 seems possible (Secret Mage is a bad matchup and Odd Warrior is insta-concede). Have you tried those decks yet? Do you think they will end up being permanently viable? And if so, is that a good thing?

So for those who don't know what the Jungle lab is about: both players have a jungle monster on their side of the field which is vulnerable and immobile. Killing it grants you very powerful Spells- the buffs.

The problem with Spell Thief here is that you can steal Jungle buffs that your opponent played  and paying 1 mana to steal a 0 mana jungle buff that is worth about 5-12 mana is pretty unfair and basically punishes your opponent for playing the game.

Therefore I think Riot should eighter block the steal of buffs or remove spellthief from the game mode simply because it is way too powerful for 1 mana

I've played literally too many games to count since the patch. I've played all f-ing weekend. It must have been 100 games by now. I'm at the point where I'm just tanking my MMR conceding to try to find the new hero. 

I payed real money for "perks." Why can't I play the new content? This is really frustrating.
