Heya all,

The past month or so I've been notable absent from the site, which put a pretty large halt to our continuous updates we had coming out, my apologies for that, there were a lot of things running very well and hitting the internal deadlines and then, poof, it stopped.

I felt weird saying something about it but I also feel weird not saying something about it so I'm going to say something about it and intentionally keep it vague. I've had some pretty intense shit come up in my personal life and I'll be honest with y'all, it's been destroying me pretty damn good. I'm hoping I can get back on the train, at least slowly, this week, so we can continue our goal of pushing out great updates and to continue our re-commitment to Hearthstone that I previously spoke about.

Wounds certainly heal with time, we'll see how that goes.

Happy Hearthstone Violet Hold release day everyone!

Today we're putting out the second largest site update of the year - the first being our major redesign. There is a ton of stuff that is a part of it and I'm sure folks will find something that doesn't work quite right so be sure to let us know what doesn't feel good in the comments.

Some of the things in these patch notes were released over the prior two weeks, so if you've already seen them, don't worry, you aren't going crazy.

Let's jump right into it.

PRO

• Fixed the incorrect price displaying on the PRO page.

  • Previously this was showing some bad math and it made it look way more expensive than it actually was.

• PRO is the Out of Games premium feature. It removes ads when you browse which gives you a way better experience and it opens up more XP earns for your activity, points for our upcoming website cosmetic shop revamp, and is the best way you can support the site. Our cheapest plan is a year of Out of Games PRO for $15 CAD (which is around $11 USD). We don't have a subscription, it's a pay once and we won't charge you again until you decide to renew.

• Note that anyone who has previously been PRO and no longer has an active membership will be receiving an on-site message and email detailing the cheaper price point and how you can reactivate. We will also send you messages when your plan is about to run out as a reminder. Thank you to everyone who has supported Out of Games / Out of Cards / HearthStation in the past. You're seriously awesome for that and it is with your help that we've been able to come as far as we have. To think how little we had when the site first came online all those years ago... wild stuff!

General

Search

• Realms can now be searched

• Added a new feature which allows you to quickly activate site search with your keyboard. By hitting "Ctrl+K" ("CMD+K" on macOS) on your keyboard, the site search will highlight and give you a box in the center of your screen to start looking for things.

• More searchable things are coming in our next deployment. Stay tuned!

Collection Managers

• We have a brand new feature on the site for collection management. Our original collection management feature was... it existed.

• You can see your collection stats, add and remove cards, see your favourite cards, and even create binders (PRO).

• You can make parts of your collection public so that anyone can see the cards you've collected. If you want to show off your golden card collection for mages, you could make a custom binder for that.

• Note that binders are primarily a PRO feature, but everyone can create a binder to play around with it and share a smaller subset of their cards.

TCG Decks

• A large part of Out of Games has been the ability to share decks with other members of the community and the public. What if you don't want something to be public though? We now support three visibility options for your decks:

  • Public: Everyone on the site can see them, they will appear in listings.

  • Private: No one on the site can see them, you can share them with specific members.

  • Unlisted: Anyone that knows the URL can view your deck, does not appear in listings.

• Do note that staff can always see your decks. Anyone trying to do anything funny will get a swift banhammer (like spamming our database with nonsense).

Member Profiles

• Removed the Decks tab and replaced it with Creations.

  • Different types of guides you create will appear here now for others to find. That includes right now decks for various card games and for staff, our literal guides.

  • We only show a specific type of guide when you have created a guide for that thing already. So if you have no Hearthstone Decks, that won't appear in your profile.

Guides

• Comments no longer span the entire width of the website.

RSS

• RSS feeds are now detectable again in our site markup on news feeds if you use an RSS reader.

Advertisements

• Added a new siderail ad that will display on higher desktop resolutions on non-full width pages.

  • Currently testing the slot for the next 2-4 weeks to see how it improves our monetization.

• Fixed an issue where ads were causing layout shifts at the top of the site as they loaded in which was an awful experience. Yes, ads are still an awful experience. You can join Out of Games PRO for a low yearly cost if you want to support us <3

Deckbuilders

• We have a bunch of new deckbuilders. Looking forward to feedback on them to help change the way we integrate with each specific card game. Most builders right now are quite "generic".

Social Media

• We have resumed posting to our social media accounts when new news articles are written, though we will likely be posting other things too! Follow us on X, Bluesky, and Facebook.

Newsletter

• We are starting up our newsletter again, though we are targeting daily instead of weekly digests. You can opt-in via account management.

• I don't expect this to be immediately daily as we tweak things and test stuff out over the next week or two, but afterwards we're going full steam ahead.

Arcade

• You can now rate games on the arcade.

  • This is a rating for the game as a whole, not just that day's unique game (in the case a game has daily games like our "dle" style games.

Hearthstone

Card Pages

• Added a button to add the card to your collection.

• Added a button to favourite cards.

Decks

• Decks with 0 cards will no longer appear in listings.

Deckbuilder

• You can now press "/" on a keyboard to gain focus of the search box within the deckbuilder interface.

• Azalina Soulsever now correctly restricts deckbuilding to 20 cards.

Collection Manager

• Moved over the old collection manager to our new one.

• Do note that we have some work to do for Signature and Diamond cards still. That part of our card database needs some serious work.

• Originally I wanted this to go live with the previous Hearthstone expansion and most of the work was done for it, but my personal life got flipped upside down for a few months and so it got put on the backburner.

• Do note as well that currently our HSDT plugin is still not working. I'm going to be taking a look at that soon because we should be able to have automatic imports of your cards. There is also a dedicated Out of Games desktop application in the works though as well which will have this functionality (and for other games).

Data Importer

• We now automatically import basic Hearthstone patch data without the involvement of humans. Woo automation! This isn't the full picture, but expect very fast updates now when patches hit and there are data changes.

  • Long-term I'm looking to get more automated aspects out of Hearthstone patches so we can be the fastest to update our data.

• Fixed issues that were preventing data imports from non-client sources (battlenet) during card reveal period.

LEgends of Runeterra

Card Pages

• Added a button to add the card to your collection.

• Added a button to favourite cards.

Deckbuilder

• Rebuilt using our new deckbuilding technology so that you can once again create decks for Legends of Runeterra.. not that anyone asked for it.

  • This was one of those things that was never migrated over to the new site, so I'm glad to have it for the sake of history.

• Added listings for gems, items, and uniques. These are all quite early and based on initial datamining so we're still working on improvements to them.

• Our ultimate goal is to add in build guides for Path of Exile 2 and to support imports from Path of Building 2.

Hello everyone. We are on the halfway month of the year already. Happy Pride Month everyone. I'm celebrating as we speak with my profile picture.

I've started EA Sports WRC, and after some driver updates, and a bit of luck, surprisingly I can actually run the game. I realize that my strategy of buying the game and hoping my computer can run it is not a great one, but it hasn't failed me yet so far. I definitely need a new computer though. One with more than 8GB of RAM and 475GB of storage space.

I'm representing Out of Games with my team logo.

And thus, I also tried to do something that I don't normally do. I've played around with this in other games before, but for the first time in any meaningful capacity... try to use the livery editor in a game. I don't usually touch on this because most people who know me know that my artistic ability is 0, but I went ahead to try to represent the Out of Games color scheme on the car.

If you're wondering who H. Morisoto and C. Supra are supposed to be, then they're both original characters I've been workshopping my brain for a long time. I actually took a playwriting class a while ago, and wrote a play about two race car drivers and these two are them.

• Comments

  • Users can once again upload images in their comments.

    • If you are under level 5, you are capped at 10 images uploaded.

    • There are no limits, but if you start using us as a personal image hosting service, your images will be deleted and you will be banned. Normal users don't need to worry about this.

  • Added a new call to action for logged-out users to come and join the community.

• Web App

  • Updated the logo to use our site logo instead of Derpcorn for phone screens.

• Editor

  • You can now highlight text and quickly make it bold, italicized, underlined, or linked.

  • The comment editor no longer loads on pages by default, instead, you now must click on "Join the conversation".

    • Mobile users, you get to tap.

    • When clicking this, the editor automatically gets selected.

• Voting

  • Added tooltips to describe the upvote, downvote, and likes buttons.

• Notifications

  • Clicking notifications now marks them as read like the old version of the website.

• Profiles

  • Small tweaks to the about section, now only shows 6 Reps instead of all.

  • Tweaked the comment section styling.

  • Updated the tabs appearance to match our newer look.

  • Fixed an issue that preventing you from choosing cosmetics.

    • Note that Out of Games Premium is now Out of Games PRO.

  • Fixed an issue with the display of email fields on the site.

• Ads

  • Logged-in users will no longer see the bottom anchor ads.

    • This is a tough one because that ad slot is our best performing one, but it interferes with the ability to do modern bottom-of-the-page things too much on mobile.

    • We haven't show anchor ads to logged-in desktop users for years.

    • So yeah, create and account and join our community and you'll see one fewer advertisement.

Realms

• Navigation

  • Realm navigation can now be clicked for the main navigation item (Like Cards for Hearthstone) as one would expect a good navigation to be able to do.

  • Headers on mobile now are more seamlessly integrated into the design.

• Threads

  • Reworked the thread creation experience to work better on mobile and modernize it on desktop.

  • Redesigned the look of thread detail views to integrate better into the page and more closely match other content on the website.

  • Updated the Edit, Delete, and Move views to our modern interface.

Hearthstone

• Made tweaks to the expansions navigation to bring it up to date and flow better.

• The deck widget on mobile no longer overflows to the right of the website.

  • Also made the class icon smaller, it was taking up a lot of space.

Deep in the desert of Vul'dun, there exist a group of people specifically adapted for the desert. These people has little to no premanent home, moving from place to place. Now with the Alliance and the Horde expedition to Zandalar, these people are ready to join the world

Hero and Hero Power

Hero Power and Upgraded Hero Power:

The hero for this class is the leader of the Devoted Sethrak Vorrik - the main NPC of the Sethrak WoW players interact with during their time exploring Zendalar. Their Hero Power is another 1 cost Hero Power that give them not only sustain and minion healing but also activate their main gimmick: Moving minions and minion positioning, as befitting their nomadic nature of not staying permanently in one place for too long.

Class Exclusive Keyword: Migrate

Their exclusive class keyword plays into the fantasy of the class of not having a permanent home and on the move constantly. Migrate is a minion / location / dormant structures (that will be explored further in the future sets) keyword allow you to have a bonus whenever this minion is moved by an effect (so that means natural minion shuffle like whenever a minion die or being removed by a removal / board clear doesn't count).

Example cards:

Flavor:

• Sethrak and Vulpera - two of the main species living in the Zandalar desert
• Moving minions and minion positioning

Example cards:

• Multiple spell school - the class play with 4 spells school - much more than the usual classes Fire, Holy, Shadow and Nature, representing the complex relationship between the people and the natural desert. They will have a big pay off for these multi spell school in the Core and Supplemental set.

Example cards:

• Mirages - temporary 0/3 minions that has Charge and is destroyed at the end of their owner's turn. This not only help with activating Migrate cheaply but also helps against Control match ups where the enemy will typically has 1 or even 0 minions on the board. These Mirages are also crucial to activate the class's tribal Beast and Elemental synergy.

Example cards:

• Elemental and Beasts synergy - living with the desert environment is a harsh life. Sand Elemental at every corner threaten the Nomadic people. Luckily the Nomadic not only master and command those Sand Elementals but also raising and taming beasts like Pterrodax and Hyena to help them survive

• The class is divided into two main playstyles: a token aggressive decks that focusing on summon cheap Charge temporary minions and then buff them or maintain them on the board through other effects and a late game minion combo oriented deck that move key Migrate minions multiple times

Hey everyone, welcome to Sidequest!

What is SidequesT?

When we launched a new design earlier this year, one of the things we mentioned was "RPG". Since then, we've been slowly introducing new mechanics to the website to solidifying this experience and today that goes one step further: it has a name.

Sidequest is a permanent fixture here on Out on Games; The game within our community. Last month you saw the re-introduction of community events here through Reelfest, our first season in the new system. This introduced Fishing as a skill and added an Inventory to the website where you could collect fish and a Marketplace where you could trade items with other members of the community.

The goal with Sidequest is to create an even better community experience on the website. Together we are going to go on quests, some by using the website itself and others by performing sidequest-specific tasks, build towards a grand village, and take on boss battles, all in the comfort of our browsers.

Boss battles on the website was something that was planned with our first-ever Snowpocalypse event and we just didn't have the technology at the time to make it happen. Now we do.

Skills

Sidequest currently has four different skills, and they are all for gathering materials:

• Fishing (enabled again and now with 70 different species of fish!

• Foraging

• Woodcutting

• Mining

You can see the levels of your skills on the Sidequest Dashboard (which is linked on the sidebar) and although they don't do much, they will be more fleshed out in the future with various perks at each level.

We've also introduced a new chance that allows you to sometimes gather more often when you're browsing the website so it's not always a static cooldown. Neat!

Next month, we will see the introduction of crafting skills, which are going to be instrumental in getting us to the next big feature we can expect for Oozefest...

Boss Battles

Starting next month, Sidequest will be adding in our very first number of boss battles. with a Halloween theme. Together we will fight against evil trying to ruin our celebrations. Will we be able to take on strong enemies together?

We'll have to wait to find out! In the meantime though, you should probably go and...

Build a Character

The cornerstone of any RPG is being and making a character, so welcome to the Sidequest Character Creator.

There are a handful of options to customize your character including your feet, lets, chest, hands, and head. There are also accessories, though they are quite limited for now. This character will represent you throughout the community and level up alongside your participation which will include...

Journaling Your Experience

The Journal is a revised interface to the Tacklebox that we introduced during Reelfest. This is where all the materials, and creatures, that we encounter are documented. It's a mini collection to complete and it will, hopefully, give you all the information you need to help chase down the completion.

The Town Square

It wouldn't be much of a game without an actual game inside of the website, now would it? We have a new page under Sidequest called "World" which begins with a Town Square... well part of one anyway.

As we level up our settlement, new features will unlock inside of the area and the map will begin to open up more with new events. At least we've found a small place to call home so far!

The goal with the world is to try and keep most of our interactive elements inside of it, though you will see bosses that can take over pages and REDACTED plus sometimes REDACTED.

Oh right, we can't talk about that quite yet.

Understandably, loading up Sidequest's World may be a bit of an annoyance at times, so we're going to try and find the right balance between on-site and in-game elements. It's possible some things may take place on both, with the on-site element being a fast way to getting to the in-game one, but it's also possible that we might make it that people must discover something in-game to make it show up for everyone out of game. This is a part where feedback is going to dictate the direction of it all.

The Sidequest REalm

Everything relating to Sidequest will have its updates posted within the Sidequest Realm and the expectation that this "forum" is where we discuss things. If people want to try and plan an expedition together or if you want to find someone to trade some items with because you really need a certain type of material to finish your new piece of gear, or you're looking for someone to make a craft for you, this is the place to go.

Sidequest is always going to be a work-in-progress and the hope with it is to turn it into a major part of our community here on Out of Games.

Sidequest is a game at the core, it just expresses itself on an unusual medium, a website. In a way, we're a bit like a Neopets or some of the other browser-based games of the past, though the goal is to be a more modern version of those.

Next month, Oozefest will make a return for the first time in a while and yes, we will see the usual Trick or Treating on everyone's profiles, but it will be a bit more than just that. There's only two weeks to go until we get there, so until then, enjoy poking around at our construction site and be sure to contribute materials to our Breaking Ground effort =)

I can't wait to share more with everyone as we push out more updates to Sidequest and we finish the more interactive elements of it.

That's a word I bet you probably didn't know. I found it while looking for a J adjective, and it describes the beauty of a woman with a figure resembling the Roman goddess Juno.

For this month, not much has changed. But at the end of last month's thread, I mentioned becoming more of a Stardewer by the second. I'm currently on the degenerate strategy of crafting 99 staircases to get to level 100 of Skull Cavern. On the topic of Stardew, I've been seeing some friends of mine playing Sun Haven, which I know is another farming game, although it seems that the game has come under some controversy due to the creator's lack of payment towards the artists.

I haven't played my PS5 in like months. Hopefully I get back to it.

This month is also my birthday month, and it happens to be during the Steam sale too! I love my birthday so much. It and Christmas are almost exactly 6 months apart from each other, so I get a celebration every half year.

I got gifted Meccha Chameleon early, and I'm really excited to finally play it with the friends.

General

• Optimized backend for additional connections to the site via scaling changes.

• Added a new Shoutbox feature.

  • This is accessible on the homepage and displays the previous 50 messages.

  • You are allowed to send messages if your account is level 7 or higher.

  • Links are allowed if they go to pages on Out of Games.

  • You may send a message to the shoutbox every 5 minutes.

  • Abusing the shoutbox will result in a ban from the shoutbox.

WHiteout Surival

• Gift Codes can now be added by anyone who is logged-in and has a character claimed.

  • This allows the community to add codes before we get to it. Thank you to everyone who is helping us out by finding codes!

A few updates have gone out over the weekend and today, here's the latest patch notes for Out of Games.

Arcade

• Now introducing the Out of Games Arcade, a place to play games on Out of Games!

• Currently, our Wordle-style games are available here for play, but more cool games are coming in the future.

  • Note that these are still on our activities page, but we will be promoting them through the Arcade more.

General

• Notifications

  • Changed how we deliver notifications on the website to be more optimized.

  • You can now customize your notification preferences in your account management.

  • Email notifications are available, turn them on if you so desire!

  • Browser notifications are now available.

    • If you are using iOS and using a browser, this will not work. Thanks Apple! Instead, you have to install Out of Games as a "Progressive Web App". We've added a mention of this on the notifications panel for users on iOS.

    • To add Out of Games to your Home Screen, you need to "Add to Home Screen" which can be found in the "Share" menu of your favourite browser.

• Comments

  • You can now like comments! Again, technically.

    • Previously we allowed upvoting and dowvoting comments.

    • When we did the site redesign, we removed voting on comments entirely.

    • Now it is back as a positive-first like feature instead. I don't know if we will always keep it as likes, some people sometimes do deserve to be downvoted, but for now we test positivity over negativity for commenting.

  • We once again show the number of comments left on news articles on the homepage article cards.

• Editor

  • Tables are easier to insert and adjust, with new editor-specific styles.

    • You can now use the @ symbol to mention a user and give them a notification. Sup @Nirast @sinti @Demonxz95 @FrostyFeet @Noxious

• RPG

  • Banned users should no longer appear on leaderboards.

• Backend

  • Several updates to the big parts of code that run the website to gain some performance enhancements.

• Dle Games

  • Added link icons beside the names of picked objects so you can go visit them in the database.

  • Fixed the guess number being ordered incorrectly.

  • Updated the display that gives you the game results when it is over.

Hearthstone

• Hearthdle

  • WILD: Fixed an issue where core set cards were included that were from older sets.

    • We only want to show you the oldest version of a card for the wild format. It doesn't make sense to show you Chillmaw twice! Thanks to Nirast for making me realize we did need to keep the Legacy set.

General

  • Added as a new activity!

  • All Pokemon are a part of the puzzle... can you

  • Sunday, daily puzzles will start. Right now, only the practice mode is active.

• "Dle"

  • Activities can now properly be played while logged-out.

  • You can now press enter to select an option in the box on Dles, if only one option is present.

• Homepage has a more condensed view on mobile to help with the excessive amount of scrolling.

Welcome to "the big one". This is a compilation of all of our changes that have gone out to Out of Games over the past couple of months, and some that escaped patch notes even before that! This is long, possibly boring, but it is well worth reading if you want to gain some knowledge in what's been changing.

Staff

Normally I don't talk about the staff-specific updates in these threads, but I wanted to make an announcement that we've put a significant amount of effort into retooling our common workflows to modernize them and provide a better user experience for us.

Personally, I'm able to create content much faster now with our new article and guide tools, and I know other staff members have been happy about improvements to the workflow - though some are still using older tools still as the newer ones mature.

My personal favourite addition is we now have drafts and autosave. You'd think a website that was so focused on content would have had these on day 1. Nope. And it's already saved my bacon a few times!

General

• New Editor

  • TinyMCE is no longer the default editor on Out of Games.

    • You will still find it on any pages that have not been converted to the new website theme. These are very few.

  • We have a custom version of TipTap now powering our content creation tools and commenting.

  • This is a much more modern editor, and everything is more customizable for us.

  • Markdown shortcuts work reliably.

  • You can use a "/" character to pull open a menu to quickly format content.

  • Better live previews - check out quotes and images!

    • Quotes are super duper awesome now. Trust!

  • Autocorrect suggestions actually work now.

  • Syntax highlighting while you are in code mode, along with prettified code. Wooo!

• Fluffy Filters

  • This is our internal name for the filtering system that powers card listings, deck listings, and all kinds of listings.

  • A complete rewrite to focus on performance.

  • No longer do we load in all data for fields on page load, improving the page performance.

  • Filters are now on the left-side of the page on larger displays instead of on top, improving user experience.

• YouTube videos now correctly embed again.

• Added a page for our Editorial Standards.

• Added an About Us page.

• Reintroduced spoilers.

  • These were gone for a moment!

• Comments that are deleted and spammed (staff only!) have updated styles to make it more obvious what their status is.

• Child comments now have correct indentation.

• Improved performance of pagination site-wide.

• Pagination is more consistently styled across types of content.

• Reimplemented countdowns.

• Added a new version of lightbox, our gallery script.

• Fixed an issue where structured data on comments was incorrect. This is for search engines.

• Fixed comments being unable to be edited.

• Fixed replying to comments showing an ugly, unstyled chunk of comment until the page was refreshed.

• Fixed comment buttons sometimes not appearing.

Realms

• We can now easily force refreshes of caches for the realm navigations.

• Realm navigations can now be managed by staff members in a much cleaner UI, allowing us to make very quick updates.

• Navigation on mobile now uses a drawer to improve the user experience.

• Headers are now more condensed on mobile so they don't take up so much screen space.

Hearthstone

• Misc updates for Cataclysm expansion.

• Rarity colors have returned to card links.

• Tooltips work again! Sorry that we didn't have these immediately with the new website theme.

• Decks

  • New theme migration.

  • Decks have received a major style overhaul on both the listing and detail pages.

  • You no longer have to scroll far down the page to read comments, now you can read them beside the deck list (unless there are a ton of them!)

  • Condensed buttons into share and settings dropdowns to clean up the interface.

    • These are not commonly used, so it makes sense to add a tiny bit of friction for their use. It makes pages look cleaner.

  • Rewrote the mana curve feature.

  • Added a "Test Your Mulligan" feature that allows you to draw a sample hand from the deck and mulligan cards away. Give it a try!

  • Deck embeds look the sexiest they ever have.

• Cards

  • New theme migration.

  • A major style overhaul in how these pages are constructed vs the old versions.

  • Card images now show as Normal first and then buttons appear to switch between the various cosmetic types if they exist.

  • New Legality feature showcases what formats a card can be played in.

  • Explore card pages to learn more about them.

  • Hearthstone's internal DBF and String IDs now appear on the card pages.

    • These aren't useful for the vast majority of people but they might help someone, they certainly help us debug cards, and they may show up in search engines more easily if people ever need to search for the ids.

  • Note that many of the newer cards don't have audio data. We are working to improve our card data importer to start extracting this data from Hearthstone again so all card pages can be as beautiful as can be.

  • Fixed issues where tooltips for cards would load the card page itself instead of the tooltip creating a messy experience.

• Deckbuilder

  • Brand. Spanking. New.

  • Everything is completely rewritten.

    • The deckbuilder has gone through so many iterations of rebuilding before being released to the public.

    • Our old deckbuilder was very basic and when Hearthstone started getting more complicated, we couldn't augment it to make it fit the new game.

  • This new deckbuilder is built upon a generic set of features which will enable us to build other deckbuilders for card games much easier.

  • Specialized card interactions are now supported to make deckbuilding more Hearthstone-like:

    • Prince Renathal updates the maximum card count to 40.

      • Not new but the way we handle this is!

    • E.T.C., Band Manager now has support so you can build his warband!

    • Reno Jackson and other Highlander cards now warn you when you add more than 1 copy of a card to your deck.

    • Baku the Mooneater now automatically filters the deckbuilder by Odd cost cards.

    • Genn Greymane now automatically filters the deckbuilder by Even cost cards.

    • Tourist Cards are now fully supported.

      • When you add a Tourist card to the deck, a new tab will appear with cards that can join this tourist.

      • If you remove the tourist, the cards that were in the deck from this new set of cards are also removed.

    • Fabled Cards are now fully supported.

      • When you add a Fabled card to your deck, the tokens associated with the card will also be added into the deck list.

    • Zilliax Deluxe 3000 is now supported.

      • Yeah, too little too late on this once considering rotation. But it proves how much more flexible our new deckbuilder is.

      • If Blizzard adds any other cards like this in the future, we're able to support it trivially.

    • Twist Mode support!

      • This was very easy for us to implement, we'll have to wait and see if Blizzard ever brings it back.

      • For now, it is disabled until a new season begins.

      • Similar tech will be able to be used for Tavern Brawl, but we have not yet implemented that one.

  • When you add 4 or more of a tribe/race or a particular spell school, the deckbuilder will suggest that you filter by this type.

    • Its completely optional, and you can easily undo it when you click the new "Show Me" button for these suggestions.

    • This will only show you one tribe/race and one spell school suggestion; It's whichever one has the highest count in your deck.

    • Just a fun little feature that can help make finding synergies easier for players of all types.

• Card Backs

  • New theme migration.

  • Additional updates are planned for the future.

  • As of posting, we know some card backs are missing. The next Hearthstone patch will solve this problem.

• Card Pack Opener

  • New theme migration.

  • Rewrote the frontend code to make it slightly more fancy.

• Secrets Calculator

  • Added this as a new feature.

  • Understandably this is not very exciting for most veteran players, and it is questionably important in modern Hearthstone, but its a fun little tool.

Guides

• Moved to the new site theme.

• Now support a sidebar which shows you the different sections within a guide and other guides in the same category.

  • This allows us to make guides more concise while allowing easy one-click access to other related information.

  • The sidebar is hidden on smaller screens and on mobile, you can show it with a simple click of the sidebar button.

  • This went through three different iterations on the live website, quite happy with the current one.

Other Card Games

Other card games that have seen support on the website in the past have all been migrated over to our new theme systems. They still need some more love though, so expect that to come in the future.

There is still a lot more to come and I will be sure to post patch notes more often so everyone can follow development closer. Considering potentially doing weekly reports on site updates instead of daily, but we'll wait to see how it goes. The goal right now is to ship updates as soon as they are ready which means the site could see half a dozen updates over the course of a day.

Hello everyone. It's a new month. What are you all up you? There's not much in the ways of new games for me, but what I have been doing is making progress on my custom Hearthstone year, Year of the Serpent.

The Eldritch Fate (Set 1) - Lazul predicts (or more accurately, manifests) a terrible tragedy for everyone with her skills as a fortune teller and her corrupted tarot deck. - All 22 cards of the Major Arcana have been adapted into Hearthstone cards. When there's Lazul involved, you can bet that the Old Gods are only a step away from spreading havoc across all of the land. Foretell is a new mechanic that gives you the option to place a card in your hand on top of your deck to activate an optional bonus effect. With the dark, disturbing sounds and stories constantly beaming around in your head, Echo has come back for the entirety of the standard year and all three sets will use it.

Last, but certainly not least is the new Aberration minion type, and their gimmick is that they copy the gimmicks of every other minion type. Some of them have the "holding a Dragon" condition. Some of them have the "if you played an Elemental last turn" condition, etc etc, you get the idea. A secondary gimmick is that they also have two effects chosen at random, but are worth roughly equal amounts of mana (i.e Upside Down Mothergate) because they're a bit chaotic.

Ascent of the Redemption Peaks (Set 2) - Throughout Hearthstone's many years, there have been several archetypes and class mechanics that have failed to make any real impact on the game and/or were abandoned by the developers. Archetypes like Freeze Shaman, No-Spell Mage, and Heal Druid. Left in the dust long ago when people stopped caring about them. Some of them died after the first wave of support, never to be returned again. Each class represents a past archetype or mechanic in the class that the team doesn't support anymore and give them one more chance at glory.

Those who seek a new chance at fate climb Mount Everset, a mountain known to have magical properties, and legend has it that those who reach the top of the mountain will reach enlightenment and change the course of their life itself. Kaytu is a pandaren monk who lives on the mountain whose job it is to help guide climbers on their journeys to the top. He knows better than anyone that everyone and everything has a story to tell. Legacy is new keyword that gives you a second Hero Power with the base card's effect when you play it. It expires after one use, but if you play more Legacy cards, their Legacy effects will stack onto your existing Legacy Hero Power. The mountain range also has stories to tell all around it, with each class getting a Sidequest that summons a location when it's completed.

Jackpot at Casino Rafaam (Set 3) - After the League of EVIL disbanded, Rafaam sought new job opportunities, and opened his own casino in the process. Casino Rafaam became the most popular gambling paradise across all the lands, though given Rafaam's past evil nature, we wouldn't put it past him if this was part of a scheme. As you'd expect from a casino run by Rafaam though, the fairness is a bit questionable. Cards with Marked are visible to you while they're on top of your deck. From here, you can either pay 1 mana to draw them or play them straight from the top of your deck as though it were in your hand. If you're feeling really lucky, there's a secondary Raise mechanic which puts an effect into a prize pot and if you win, you get the effects Raised into the prize pot. There are only a few of these cards, but feel free to use them if you feel like high-rolling.

Where is Rafaam in this? He's not only running the casino, but he's also gathered some of his Ethereal friends to help run the place up. Ethereals are a new minion type coming to Hearthstone in this set. As traders and collectors of all sorts of weird items, Ethereals are largely about giving you extra cards. Lots of Ethereals have effects that draw cards or create them into your hand, and if a card was put there specifically by an Ethereal, it may have an additional synergistic bonus.

General

• Site search has been rebuilt from the ground up.

  • Cards from all eight of our card games are searchable in one place, along with the Pokedex, the games catalogue, community threads, and sealed products.

  • Typos and partial names work way more reliably. "chariz" finds Charizard.

  • The results page uses the current site theme (oops) and shows cost, stats, rarity, and set for every game's cards, not just Hearthstone.

  • Results lean towards the realm you are browsing in more reliably (not perfect though).

• Images in articles, guides, and card pages now hold their space while loading so text stops jumping around as a page comes in.

• Many pages got noticeably faster: comment sections, listing pages, embedded cards and decks in posts for every card game, galleries, the shoutbox, and member comment pages.

  • Sealed product pages no longer wait on eBay and Amazon prices before showing you anything, which saves about a second.

• Every page now has a proper description and share image when it shows up in search engines or gets shared on Discord and social media. Page titles no longer repeat the section name.

• A stray ">" marker no longer shows up beside every comment on the site-wide comments page.

• New Today's Challenges that are always open, during events and between them.

  • Say Something: your first comment of the day anywhere on the site pays 5 Gold.

  • Join the Conversation: your first reply on a realm thread each day pays another 5 Gold.

• Every currency in the shop now has a short guide on its page explaining how to earn it and what it is for.

• Blurred background art on card, deck, product, and article pages now fades smoothly into the page instead of ending in a hard line.

Notifications & Email

• There is a "send a test notification" button on the Registered Devices tab in Account Management so you can check a device actually receives push notifications.

• If you have push enabled in several browsers, you now get notifications in all of them instead of just the first one.

• The daily newsletter is now built and sent by our new email system.

  • The deck section is now "Trending Hearthstone Decks" and shows each deck's class crest.

  • Card reveals show two per row, or one per row on phones.

  • Guides can now be featured in emails, not just articles.

  • No newsletter goes out on a day with nothing new to report.

• Email preferences now do what they say.

  • Saving the page without changing anything no longer re-subscribes you after opting out of everything.

  • If you hit "Stop all email" you can switch email back on again.

  • Newsletter unsubscribe links unsubscribe you from the newsletter itself.

• Addresses that bounce or report us as spam stop receiving email automatically.

Oozefest

• Oozefest 2026 is live for the whole month of October!

  • Two new currencies (Ectoplasm and Ooze), new October gathering items (Spider Silk and Mythril), three Halloween fish, eight camp defense meters, a 50 level pass, 62 daily and 6 seasonal challenges, The Ooze Emporium, and an avatar border.

  • Trick-or-treating: knock on member profiles, realms, and articles published during the event for treats, tricks, pranks, and Sugar Rush. The old trick-or-treat achievements were replaced by new Oozefest ones.

  • Community bosses: everyone attacks one shared boss with live HP. You get three attacks a day (four for Premium), loot on every hit, and a storyline across five bosses. This is just the beginning!!

  • Bosses hit back. Your character loses HP on each attack and recovers over time, with an HP bar on the boss page.

  • Eight new Oozefest achievement types covering trick-or-treating, boss fights, crafting, shop listings, and candy donations.

• Oozefest fixes since launch:

  • The Ooze Pouch no longer hands out Ectoplasm.

  • Ore that does not fit in your bag no longer turns into candy, and rewards no longer vanish when your bag is full.

  • Boss kill rewards can no longer pay out twice, and a refused attack no longer blanks the boss page.

  • "Sell from your shop" challenges now credit the seller... oops.

• The homepage shows the boss you can fight, with its live health bar, how long is left, and how many people have joined in. Hits from other players pop up over the boss as they happen.

• A Combat Log on the boss page shows every swing as it happens, with crits, Sugar Rush, the camp bonus, the boss biting back, loot, and kills.

• Trick-or-treat buckets got an overhaul.

  • Every member's bucket now holds real candy. Each treat a visitor gets comes out of your bucket, and an empty bucket means everyone who knocks gets tricked.

  • Buckets under 10 candy get 5 more every night at midnight.

  • You can buy a Bucket of Candy in The Ooze Emporium to top yours up, up to 12 candy a day.

  • Hitting a boss can drop candy straight into your own bucket.

  • Your own bucket now shows on your shop page so you can see how full it is.

• The Ooze Emporium has arrived in the Shop.

  • Oozefest Watcher, an animated avatar border with dripping ooze, popping bubbles, and an eyeball that blinks back at people visiting your profile. 100 Platinum.

• The pass reward at level 15 is the Oozefest Night profile header, made from the pumpkin patch art.

• Throwing Ooze at someone actually shows green ooze flying across a spooky moonlit pumpkin patch now. It used to show the water balloon from Reelfest before we ninja fixed it before going live.

Sidequest

• Sidequest got a huge update of its own, with profession trainers, a new crafting interface, Woodworking, and more. Check out the full Sidequest update in the Sidequest realm.

Shops & Marketplace

• Every member now has a personal shop with listing slots, decorations, themes, and critters. Sell in any currency, barter, or run free daily giveaways.

  • A new Shop tab on member profiles shows your shop to everyone.

  • The Marketplace is now a search page with filters, and each result links into the seller's shop. "My Listings" moved to your shop page.

  • The site shop sells shelf upgrades, a Cozy Cabin theme, shelf decorations, and critters.

• Shop prices are now "price each". Buyers pick a quantity and see a running total, and sellers see what they receive after the fee.

  • Previously a whole stack could sell for one unit's price. The affected sellers have been credited and notified.

• Shop owners can take back part of a stack without removing the whole listing, and a decoration on a shelf can no longer be lost when removing it.

• Every purchase now counts towards the shop sales achievement.

News & Guides

• The news page has been rebuilt.

  • A featured band shows the newest article plus the two most-read articles of the week.

  • The same design covers Opinion, Reviews, and every realm's news list.

• Realm guide listings have been rebuilt too. Full readable titles instead of pixel titles cut off at two lines, category chips with counts, title search, and a featured band.

• New Steam games widget for articles and guides. It shows the game's art, a live Steam price with any discount, a link to the game on Steam, and a link to our review when we have one. We should get to see this in play today when the steam sale starts.

Realms

• The realms page has been rebuilt as a shelf of realm tiles with art, instant search, and pagination.

  • Members get "Your realms" and "More realms" tabs, and searching shows both together.

  • Join or leave a realm straight from the page now. Logged-out visitors get a prompt to sign in and follow realms.

  • Tiles are denser on big screens so a 4K display is no longer a wall of giant cards.

• Realm navigation now sits inside the realm header instead of a separate bar below it.

  • The tab for the section you are in is highlighted.

  • On phones the tabs are a scrollable strip instead of a "Menu" button.

  • More of the banner art shows through.

  • Realms without their own navigation (most of them) now get Discussion, News, Guides, and Game tabs.

• The realm page sidebar has been redesigned.

  • A card with the realm's art, game links, about text, and member, thread, and guide stats.

  • A guides card that switches between Most Read and Newest.

  • The daily challenge and recent activities now actually show up there.

• Realm hubs load faster.

Games

• Games on the games page that had a blank grey tile now have cover art, and any game still missing art gets a placeholder instead of nothing.

• Games now show up in site search.

Hearthstone

• The deck widget on the Hearthstone realm now defaults to Hot this week without requiring a guide, so it is no longer empty most weeks. It also has a Build a Deck button.

• Adventure boss and hero listings work again and only list their own adventure, grouped by chapter.

• Faster pages: cards, decks, deck listings, Tavern Brawl, expansions, Mercenaries, parties, bounties, card galleries by day, deck card history, and patch balance changes.

• Tavern Brawl link previews no longer show literal template text, and Mercenaries pages got proper share titles.

• You can no longer create two top-level deckbuilder folders with the same name.

Marvel Snap

• The card database is back. It went from 265 cards to 779 and now includes series, pool, and season pass info. Please note we're still working on card images in some cases.

• New deck database pages: Hot Decks ranked by how often decks are being shared, archetype pages, and an Infinite leaderboard with the month's player count and the top 100.

• Deck codes work in every format including the game's short code. Copying a deck gives you the short code the game uses, and the deckbuilder imports all of them.

• Card and deck pages got better share descriptions and the deck listing loads faster.

Whiteout Survival

• Gift code announcements on Discord now link to the real redeemer page.

• Redemptions are recorded correctly when the same player and code show up twice.

Kingshot & Lordrush

• Gift Code Redeemers are now live for Kingshot and Lordrush, built on the same system as Whiteout Survival.

  • Link your Player IDs and we redeem new gift codes for you automatically.

  • Submit codes you find and see site-wide stats.

  • Accounts that have not logged into the game for a week are marked inactive so we stop trying.

• Both realms have navigation for the Code Redeemer, Guides, and News.

Legends of Runeterra

• The card database is back up to date with the missing cards from sets 7, 7b, 8, and 9 and the Darkin Saga, and it now checks for updates hourly... not that Riot updates them much at all anymore

• Card pages, keyword pages, and deck listings load faster. Cards no longer show a "None" rarity.

Pokemon

• Cards now import nightly with images so new sets fill in fully. Perfect Order and 30th Celebration were sitting mostly empty before - oversight and a half.

• The Pokedex has its own search category and partial name search works.

Other Games

• Magic card embeds in posts load faster and the nightly card import is running again.

• Mythgard set pages load faster and cards got better share descriptions.

• Path of Exile 2 gem, item, and modifier pages now have share descriptions.

• Yu-Gi-Oh card images in posts load faster.

• Palworld TCG deck codes load faster and card imports work again.

Bug Fixes

• Password reset, email confirmation, and first-time social sign-up pages work again. They were showing an error.

• Pages still on the old theme work again: Mercenaries, member collections, events, tavern brawls, and fan creations. Some of these we don't really link anymore though just for the record.

• A guide for a game with no realm no longer breaks the homepage or the guide page. Hilarious bug.

• Game news feeds work again for games that were imported twice.

Characters

• Pick a class (Warrior, Mage, or Archer) and create your character.

• The character page has twelve equipment slots, a stats panel, and your spare gear.

• Your character has health. Bosses hit back when you attack them, health recovers over time, and food heals you.

• On the Sidequest page, the old Look card is now Character and takes you to your gear. Your wardrobe is one click away from there.

• The skills panel on the Sidequest page now shows every skill you have with a progress bar, and each one links to its workshop or gathering page.

Workshops

• Introducing Workshops!

  • Recipes are listed down the left, grouped by tier. Click one to see everything about it on the right.

  • Search recipes and materials instantly, or filter to what you can craft right now or what you have materials for.

  • Materials show their icons and how many you have against how many you need.

  • Tiers you collapse stay collapsed the next time you visit.

  • Recipes you have not learned yet show greyed out, so you can see what is coming. Each tier also tells you how many recipe scrolls are still out there to find.

• Each recipe's color tells you how much skill XP it pays at your level.

  • Orange pays full XP

  • Yellow pays two thirds

  • Green pays a third

  • Grey pays nothing

• Workshops now sit under Sidequest in the sidebar.

• Each workshop card on the Workshops page shows its profession and your level.

Profession Trainers

• Every workshop has a trainer who teaches recipes.

  • The Forge: Brannoc Emberbeard, a dwarf blacksmith.

  • The Loom: Sylvaine Moonweft, an elven mage tailor.

  • The Tannery: Arachney, an orc hunter.

  • The Kitchen: Mei Lingbao, a panda chef.

  • The Sawmill: Hollis Timberjaw, a lumberjack.

• Trainers sell recipes for Gold. The first tiers are free, and the most expensive recipes currently cost 7 Gold.

• Recipe scrolls you find teach you new things for free, and you can sell scrolls you do not need in your shop.

• Expect special recipes in the future for holiday-themed items.

Woodworking

• New profession! The Sawmill turns two logs into a plank. Pine, oak, and maple planks can all be made from level one. We'll get more wood types in the future!

• The camp's Barricade now takes planks instead of raw logs, and each plank is worth twice what a log was.

Cooking

• Cook food!

• Dishes heal you or give you a Well Fed buff when you eat them.

• I want to point out a very important dish: Battle Stew. Eating one gives you a bonus boss attack for the day.

Gear & Crafting

• Hundreds of new pieces of gear across eight tiers, with sets that give bonuses at 2, 4, and 5 pieces worn.

• Named gear leans its rolled stats towards what its name promises.

• Found gear: realm-themed loot can rarely drop while you browse the site.

• Every ore and bar has new art.

• Crafting professions level about 25% slower than the gathering professions so don't expect it to be quite as easy.

General

• Staff now get notifications when we've run out of scheduled daily polls and activities.

  • Our insights for activities specifically were poor, that's now fixed as well so this is just an nice addition to making sure we're staying ahead of the issue.

• We have a new system now that allows us to break cache on articles and guides based on bbcode we're using on them.

  • This is primarily for the Hearthstone card reveal period, but it's so much more. We now track what bbcodes are being used in different places on the site so that we can break cache when those bbcodes would normally have new contents.

  • For Hearthstone, this means as soon as cards enter our database with images, caches break on articles and guides that would include them and we can immediately show you those new cards.

• Refreshed the look of comments.

  • Comments are a bit less heavy feeling and the text is a bit nicer on the eyes.

• The leave a comment box now floats on desktop if you scroll past it to make it easier to actually leave a comment on longer threads.

Notifications

• Added new notifications to account management:

  • Private Messages: This isn't new but it's been reworked so it works more reliably.

  • Staff now have new notification types for reports and previously mentioned scheduled content.

• Added the ability to have Discord Webhooks!

  • One you reach level 5 on the website, you can create up to three webhooks to receive different kinds of content on the website.

  • Premium users do not have a level requirement and you may create up to 10 webhooks.

  • Webhooks for News Articles, Guides, Polls, and Activities all have optional game restrictions that you can enable. Want Hearthstone news articles? No problem!

  • We also have Webhooks available specifically for Whiteout Survival codes if you want to have those sent to channels.

Housekeeping

• Removed a bunch of old code from our codebase from the old version of the site, which also let us remove some old dependencies. Small resource savings woo.

Today's patch notes also includes things pushed during the BlizzCon weekend.

Hearthstone

• Card data during card reveal period syncs again from Blizzard's API.

• Brought back our rating system for Hearthstone cards, which was absent from our major site update.

  • This also adds the same rating stars to the card detail pages.

• Discussion buttons for cards during reveal period now point everyone to discuss cards on their database pages.

  • This is very important for us. It helps add custom content to our database pages which will help them perform better on Google which is why we are doing this instead of discussion threads.

• Fixed an issue with our Battle.net data where tokens were not being associated with the cards they belong to. Hello Mastermind Yogg-Saron.

• Fixed the appearance of our countdown timers for card reveals.

• Removed the Cataclysm box from the bottom of the homepage.

• Fixed an issue with us incorrectly importing Spell Schools and Tribes for cards, resulting in "UNK_" or "Invalid" being displayed.

Articles

• Added a new live blogging feature.

  • If you tuned into any of our live panel coverages articles this weekend, such as at the opening ceremony, you came across a new way we are able to deliver instant updates to articles.

  • We will be using this system going forward for live events!

  • Any feedback you have for it, we're open ears.

GEneral

• Added new functionality to the site which allows us to clear the caches for Articles and Guides based on other events taking place on the website.

  • Right now we are using this specifically for Hearthstone. When we add new cards to the database, any articles or guides where these cards should appear will now have instant updates instead of us having to re-save articles and guides.

• Fixed multiple pages which were using excessive amount of memory to load pages.

  • A crawler took the site down a few times during the weekend and so I found the pages responsible, profiled them, and as it turns out we were doing some dumb stuff with our site maps causing them to use more memory than they needed to. Loading multiple of these in quick succession was causing the site to lock up.

  • As a part of this, I profiled the entire website to look for other moments of high memory usage and fixed those too. There was only one other one.

• The global comments page has been moved to the new site theme.

  • This was the final page that hadn't moved over. Goodbye Out of Games v3.

  • I know most people likely don't even know this exists because we don't link it anywhere. It is primarily used as a moderation tool to help us find spam comments across the site.

Activities

• Hearthdle now includes Violet Hold cards.

• Hearthdle now has working spell schools.

• Fixed issues that prevented daily challenges from going out.

• If for some reason we do not publish a daily challenge, streaks will no longer be reset.

Seasons

• Breaking Ground has begun!

• We also have month-by-month breakdowns for upcoming game releases.

• You can now leave a review for any game on the site. Why not give Hearthstone a rating?

  • We ask you to review multiple points with ratings out of 10.

  • You can optionally write a written review as well.

• You can mark games as "Wanted", "Playing", and "Played".

Content

• Articles now have a subtle fancy background near the top before written content.

  • You've seen these faded blurry backgrounds elsewhere, like Hearthstone card pages.

• We can now embed live steam prices in articles.

• All articles with an associated steam game now show a promo block at the end of articles promoting the game.

Misc

• Fixed video embeds not appearing in threads, comments, and guides.

I'm still playing Clickbait Tycoon. Pretty fun incremental clicker game. I wonder who made it, hint hint.

My Steam backlog continues to grow, and it's going to keep growing forever and ever. But I am slowly working my way through all of the motorcycle racing games I own before I inevitably need to buy others.

RollerCoaster Tycoon Wonderworks was announced. It looks shit. This video from Marcel Vos basically explains it all, and it looks like a pile of crap.

Every attempt at bringing the series back, minus RCT Classic, has been a shitstorm.

If you want to play a game that's "RCT, but modern", just play Parkitect instead. That game perfectly captures the vibe of being like the old RCT games but with some little modernizations. It's great.

A small patch has been deployed to fix a few bugs that have been reported and add in some additional quality of life adjustments. Work is still going strong on the 0.6.0 patch that is coming in September.

Discord Connection

• You can now connect your Clickbait Tycoon account to Discord.

• You get a special in-game reward for doing so: The Daily Ping clickable!

Upgrades

• Added a button to purchase all available upgrades. This buys out the cheapest upgrades first and repeats until you are out of money.

Research

• Added 50 new researches for "Warm Blankets". Each provides 1% Daycare hatch speed increase. Most of these are for the late-late game economy where egg grinding is the most grindy.

• Knowledge Points from Breaking News and Contracts now scale with websites owned and buyouts earned.

Mugs

• Mug inventory is now 30 slots by default. This is a temporary tweak that is going to be changed in 0.6.0.

Bug Fixes

• Golden and Trending notifications should no longer hide behide fact checking countdowns.

• Hire and Upgrade tooltips now appear beside the panel instead of on top.

• The fact check bar can no longer take over other tabs, it stays to the newsroom.

• The custom styles applied to your writer no longer reset on prestige or buyout.

Our first patch in early access! We've had a great start to our launch and to keep the momentum going we're making some early game balance changes to help smooth out the onboarding process and to put good stuff in your hands sooner.

Pals

• Pals now can be unlocked after the writer questing is unlocked. No longer does this require the Office Tower room.

• Daycare room in the Office Tower now unlocks the Pal Expedition mechanic.

• Improved the UI to condense information and make it more clear which Pals are in your party.

• Eggs can now drop from publishing articles... more reasons to click.

• Pals now follow writers when they go on quests.

Quests

• Improved the end of quest popup to show all the rewards earned by completing a quest.

Balance

• Research tab now opens after 5 published articles (down from 10).

• Field Reporting now costs $500 (down from $1000).

• Tutorial Trending Topic now appears at article 3 (down from 7).

• Office room upgrade levels have been made more expensive and now also require knowledge points. More decisions to make!

• Click Bot Network empire upgrade now costs 1 Domain Point but clicks once every 10 seconds at the first rank.

• Click Bot Network empire upgrade has had ranks 2 through 4 see Domain Point cost reductions.

• Each additional website unlocked via empire prestige provides more Domain Points. Existing saves will now have additional points to compensate.

Name in the Game

• Early Access purchases can now use the Clickbait Tycoon website to submit a name of their choice into the game.

• This feature works with Pals. There is a random chance when hatching new Pals that you can encounter a community-submitted name.

• All submissions go through a human to verify they are safe before we add them to the game.

• Note that it requires a game update for us to push new names to the game, even after we accept the name submission.

Bug Fixes

• You can now correctly hit escape when any modal is open to close it. This mimics the controller functionality where "B" closes modals.

• When first equipping a mug the icon now correctly appears in the writer equipment frame.

• Fixed an issue with how Typing Speed was being calculated.

• Mugs with Caffeine now correctly apply stats.

• Mugs with Clout now correctly apply stats.

• The Click Bot Network empire upgrade now correctly progresses the publish bar.

This is our final major Early Access build for Clickbait Tycoon (Official Site | Steam). Full launch is next Friday, August 21 at Noon Eastern! It has been a journey and a half to get here and we can't wait to continue developing the game during early access and into the 1.0 release next year.

Visual Polish

• Best Value tags no longer cause hire buttons to increase in size when upgrades have been purchased.

• Moved the name of the quest you're on to keep the box the same size.

• Writer tab now has a more character sheet feel to it.

• Writer tab glows while any writer has unspent attribute points.

• Every research project and every achievement now has an icon.

• Questing now shows stats and rewards associated with that quest after first completion.

• Every quest now keeps a permanent career record

• Added a "Fog of War" to the quest interface so you can't see very far...

• Improved the appearance of our patch notes in the client

• Added comparison tooltips for items.

• Increased some character-related font sizes.

• Reworked the paper doll frame for gear and stats for each character.

Accessibility

• Added an option for reduced motion (combat, news ticker)

• Added a new option for "boss fight pace". You can slow down combat to make it easier to hit attacks. This does not make fights weaker.

Boss Fights

• You can now switch between Weak Spot boss encounter style and Typewriter style.

• Typewriter is a DDR-inspired mini-game that instead of clicking on the boss weak spot, you instead can press keys on your keyboard (WASD or Arrows)

• Added new controls settings tab with rebindable fight keys.

Balance

• Building office rooms now costs Knowledge Points on top of money - 1 KP for your first room of a type, then it scales up

• Some researches now require Knowledge Point in addition to burning funds.

• Field Reporting (the quest unlock) costs $1K now, was $4K.

• Seed Funding is now useful: each rank starts every new website with $10K x rank x your website count.

• Six new permanent Domain Point upgrades keep gear through prestige.

• Hire mastery researches: own 30 of a hire to unlock its "Squads" project.

• Quills now drop from publishing! Also added research to make it more common.

• AI Summarization Tech is a newsroom button that makes your next article click ship the article out immediately.

• The Pen is Mightier I-X research now increases critical damage - helps fights!

• Boss money is now scaling based on quest length.

• More total Pal eggs can drop from more difficult quests.

• Quests will now always drop a piece of gear on their first clear.
