I think this is great personally, I'd love to see Ruinterra tackle all these mtg staple mechanics.
Just by having them take a place on the board already makes them far more balanced
Hopefully we don't get any mana cheating like fires of inventions because that killed standard for everyone.

There were difficult times. I had to leave the city and move to the village. Here is very very slow Internet and I can not connect to any game (HS or LOR). I asking those who are familiar with card games (which are not for the computer). What games do you advise to play? I played once a couple of matches in MTG, but I did not particularly like the mechanics of lands. So, on which game I need pay attention and which set can I buy for start (2 players)? Or do i need to look at MTG again?

Anyone else experiencing this over the past few days? Every card I play or attack I cue up takes an extra few seconds to happen, and I'm getting disconnected and reconnected almost every single turn. So far, I've only lost one game due to this, since the disconnects are generally very brief. It's so annoying though!
Internet seems to be working fine for other purposes around the house. I tried shutting down and restarting my computer, as well as power-cycling my router.

I'm a little lost because there's a lot of stuff to experiment with. The game has a bunch of different modes and there's an exp based progression system that rewards you constantly for just playing the game. I spent this entire afternoon just playing against the A.I. to understand how some of the mechanics work and it was pretty simple to get through the Prologue rewards. The F2P factor is as good as people constantly say. After finishing the tutorial i was really surprised with the fact that all three decks were given to me for free. It seems that i will gain more free stuff in one week of playing Runeterra than the amount of free stuff i got from HS in about three and a half years.
The game has some really cool level up animations for each champion and for some of their spells. It isn't as complicated as i thought it would be but i'm still getting used to the whole blocking thing. HS was the first competitive card game i played so i got used to playing blockers (taunts) during my turn and praying that my opponent has no way of getting through them. It adds another layer of complexity because i need to determine which units to sacrifice, if i should block or just let damage get through to protect valuable units and i need to consider spells as well. The only A.I. opponent i had some trouble with was a Shen/Karma deck that had quite a few barrier spells and lifesteal and that caught me off guard during my attacking phase. Other than that, the A.I. opponents are extremely simple to deal with for someone with previous card game experience but they are still a great source of information before diving into the actual competition. I don't know if the basic free decks are good enough for the PvP experience though.
I still don't know if i will keep playing the game but i'm going to need some weeks playing it to see if it catches my interest permanently. It's pretty hard to play two online games like these simultaneously and i already put a lot of time and money into Hearthstone. What is going to be a big factor is the variety of decks (a good balance between aggro, midrange, combo and control) and predictability of matchs. The excessive RNG in HS pisses me off a lot but it's also the thing that hooked me to the game in the first place since i really like games with random generation (mostly roguelikes/rogue-lites but games like Terraria as well). Is there any other site besides this one that provides good information about decks? Or a good content creator that can provide information and help me learn more about the game?

Everybody knows that Lee Sin is a top tier card along with the new bastion but for whatever reason the decks all have a below 50 percent winrate currently, indicating that A these lists are super hard to pilot or B the lists are not properly optimized.
Either way there are solutions that can fix both of these issues.
The first is tempo Lee/Zed similar to the old stand alone lists, you essentially present a big impossible to remove body that swings for lethal.
https://lor.mobalytics.gg/decks/code/CIBQCAICBEBAEAQBAYDQGCITDMRSSM2WLQBAEAICBQ3QEAYJGBKQEAIBAISQCAYJMA
It runs tools like goat and mentor, and it's a list that was popularized by Swim
Only issue is that it also has a 47 percent winrate due to either being unoptimized or too big brained for the average player
But nobody has explored Lee's control potential, what if instead of being all in on tempo in Targon, a region that's really bad at tempo
We went the opposite direction, we went control. Well what are good control cards in Targon/Ionia
You have Karma or you have Asol.
I think control Lee hasn't really been explored and I'd like everyone to post their ideas down bellow.
Here's one to get started

Guys this has to stop. Why in the freaking world do people need to contemplate which one they want this long or get up to stuff more junk food in their face while innocent folks like me have to suffer this wait, like every other game?
i know it will never stop, but at least for the BG players on this website, can we make a vow to make ours picks quickly?

I have been having this idea for a while now, and i finally sat down and put it on paper, so-to-speak.
Fury warrior!

Basically it would look like this(ignore my lazy edit on the weapon background and yes i know they're in class colors now), Basically what would happen is on this card:

Or something similar, it would turn your hero power into an extra weapon slot. The first weapon you equip would be normal, but the second weapon, would not override the first weapon like it normally would, instead it would rest on your hero power, making it unusable but giving you the power of two weapons at once(you would still get one attack a turn like normal), just like in WoW, if you want to dual wield you have to throw away a shield. For instance.
Let's say you have a 3/1 Fiery War Axe equipped, and you attacked with it last turn, this turn you drew your second Fiery War Axe, you would attack for six, and after attacking the fiery war axe in the left spot would break like normal, and it would shift the newly equipped axe into your main hand. Same would happen if your opponent used an ooze against you, it would only break the weapon in the "main hand"

If we go to the stats page of mobalytics we notice a total overhaul to how the website is calculating win-rates instead emphasizing individual deck-lists with smaller sample sizes aka games played.
Unfortunately, this approach is uninformative I could for example look at ash thresh and see that they have a 57 percent win rate over 100 games and logically think they are top tier. But this would be incorrect.
Typically we would want to see 500 - 1000 games played over multiple variants of a deck list to get a realistic statistical picture of a decks true potential.
Ultimately, mobalytics needs to return to grouping similar decklists together into one statistical category if it wants to be of any use at all.

Looking for art for the weekly card design competition, I stumbled upon an upcoming CCG: Rise of the Overlords. The art I'm refering to has been posted 4 years ago, but the devs are showcasing new cards on twitter every now and then so the game should still be alive.
The information the homepage provides are interesting enough to warrant a thread imho:
- the goal of the game is it to destroy the enemy overlord. In contrast to HS, overlords are taking part in the battle, they're basically super strong minions.
- the battlefield isn't merely interactive, but actually part of the game. There's one with a stream of lava across the board. If a minion falls into it, it gets damaged badly or even destroyed. Other battlefields have holes minions can fall through.
- there's no mana but actions per turn. Those can be used to play cards, move units or attack - this reminded me of Legends of Andor, a cooperative tabletop game.
This might be worth keeping an eye on!

Just thought I'd share for those that have not seen yet.
Source: https://us.forums.blizzard.com/en/hearthstone/t/update-on-scholar-jaina-and-horseman-uther/42044
We wanted to update everyone regarding our new hero skins, particularly Scholar Jaina and Horseman Uther. We are planning to add unique voice lines, start of game voice lines, and a couple other special voice lines to both Scholar Jaina and Horseman Uther in a future patch. We’ve taken feedback on board regarding emotes for those and upcoming hero skins. The next skin, which will be released shortly, has new emotes for all 6 regular board interactions and a few other commonly played lines as well. There will be hero skins in the next expansions associated with their corresponding Book of Heroes chapters that will not have unique lines at launch, but we plan to add them as soon as VO recording allows. Stay tuned for updates here.
Adding context as to how we got here: We started out with the idea of adding skins for our classic heroes that allowed us to get more options for visual customization into the hands of our players at a much quicker than normal pace. We’re confident in the idea behind these skins and they’re already seeing a lot of use within the game. However, we missed here on painting a clear picture of the difference between these skins and the alternate heroes we’ve done in the past, that include all sorts of unique audio and visual effects. That’s something we should have gotten across better and want to ensure that we address in the future.
