Having looked at my pack tracker, I find I've opened 78 packs without a legendary.  (And 12 epics which is also below average.)

This is possible because it's across different sets and 3 regions.

But it's still pretty bad luck - but that's Hearthstone.

Al'ar is just a card I wanted to try feel free to replace it.

So I usually wait far too long until I craft those great legendaries I never open. Tomorrow though I’m thinking of making an exception, and craft those I really want and hope to open those good ones you want to have but not craft. 
I’m thinking of Maiev Shadowsong (good neutral + old WC3 fave), Kayn Sunfury (probably key finisher for Illidan) and Kargath Bladefist (just too good to pass). 
What  to you think of these?

Do we have any information about Illidans upgraded heropowers form cards like Justicar Trueheart, Genn Greymane or Baku the Mooneater?

The coin is there to counter the disadvantage of going second. However in it's current state it is not an equalizer, but an (unfair) advantage for the player who goes second.

My proposal is to have the coin you get from going second ONLY give you one mana crystal. It shouldn't count as a spell /  card and will not work as a combo enabler.

Coins generated later in the game can work as normal.

We're kind of in a down-time between Reveal Season and a new expansion coming out, so while we wait for Tuesday I thought I'd ask a question: what are your favorite Hearthstone cards by rarity? This came up in a conversation with my father, and turns out going through the list was harder than I expected.

To start things off, here are mine:

• Basic - Frostbolt. 
• Common - Jade Spirit. I've had a lot of fun playing Jade decks; I like their inevitable nature, growing bigger threats.
• Rare - Stonehill Defender. Taunt is my favorite Keyword, and he's a staple of Quest Taunt Warrior (my favorite deck).
• Epic - Scion of Ruin. Dragons are my favorite minion type, and summoning three guys with Rush is great.
• Legendary - Fire Plume's Heart. It's got to be; sorry, Frost Lich Jaina. You know I love you too.

I assume all cards are fair game here, although you're welcome to do Standard-only if you want.

I started playing HS after the nerf to Raza so never had to deal with this deck in a big way before.

I played 7 games on the wild ladder today at Bronze 10 and 6 of those games were this deck and I lost every game. Granted I was playing non-tier 1 decks like Spell Hunter & Quest Burgle Rogue, but still every game played out the same and I got completely destroyed.

For those who played it prenerf what worked? My only thought was bring back Bomb Warrior and just shuffle bombs like mad but aside from that (which is obviously inconsistent based on draws) I’m kind of at a loss. Any help would be appreciated - as much as I love the new ladder system quite frankly this was the single least fun day I’ve ever had with this game so if this is what Wild looks like now then I’ll just dust my Wild cards and jump back to standard.

Hey guys, i've really enjoyed the year of the dragon overall and want to know what you think. 

1. What have been your favorite decks to climb or just play from each expansion meta? 
2. What rotating cards from YotR are you going to miss most?
3. Favorite YotD cards not necessarily for power?

All of the year of the dragon cards will still be around in standard for the next year, but between raven cards rotating/nerfs/power level of future expansions a lot of them won't see the kind of play they have.  So year of the dragon has had it's own unique meta.

My personal experience:

Witchwood/Year of the Raven was where I began hearthstone, so this year felt unique to me because it was the first one where every card being played was one I knew from it's release.  

In Rise of Shadows my favorite deck for the ladder was bomb warrior.  Both booms were nutty, and having a "control" deck that also could play as a sloppy midrange beat em up was really fun.  I'm definitely in the minority but I even miss the warrior mirrors.  Playing bomb vs control and bomb mirror was so ridiculous and its not something you really saw after the end of the RoS meta.  My favorite card from that expansion was Muckmorpher.  I really liked those two minutes where big shaman was a thing.  

In Saviors of Uldum, and for the entire year of the dragon, my favorite deck was quest shaman.  Now bludgeoned to death by nerfs (unjustly so imo), it used to be a super fun deck to play.  Ridiculous value engine, interesting tempo lines, lots of rng effects like discovers and mutates to try to hedge, deck was nutty.  Unfortunately the Wild cards event put an early end on my enjoyment of the deck because evolve made the deck broken and the center of the meta.  About a week into the event I took the longest break i've ever taken from HS until it was over because the game was unplayable to me.  

I also loved quest druid, and my favorite card from Uldum is Oasis Surger.  I love elementals, the art, and the nutty power level.  This deck is still very good nowadays and a go to climbing deck.

Descent of Dragons was a pretty huge spike in power, Pushing and rebuilding a lot of the other decks from the meta while adding Galakrond and another reason to play highlander.  I loved Galakrond Shaman for the brief amount of time it was almost balanced between the two waves of nerfs but it was short lived because now the deck is fairly weak.  I was really bummed how they handled Shaman this expansion, but it's still been quite enjoyable and a pretty decent meta with a lot of variety and not as much polarization.  I've enjoyed highlander hunter, aggro hunter, highlander rogue, and quest druid.  DoD added my favorite card from the expansion to quest druid, Ysera, Unleashed.  Card is nuts.  Mad flavor and closes out games in style.

I won't type too much more in case the thread flops but I really want to know other peoples experiences and feelings with the expansions.

Hear me out... Demon Hunter has very few spells right now. That means Arcane Dynamo has a large chance of pulling Inner Demon. So, Kael'thas Sunstrider - Twin Slice, Second Slice, Inner Demon, Twin Slice, Second Slice, Inner Demon, Blur, Blur, Inner Demon, Consume Magic, draw into Mana Burn, Inner Demon. Do it with Warglaives of Azzinoth, and not even a Voidlord will stop you. That's 36 or more damage.

I am aware this is a meme. I am aware that Mages become Immune, Druids have 30K armor, and Warlocks have a board full of taunts on turn 5. I am aware you need 11 cards to do this. But, I think making this dream happen is the perfect excuse for me to dip into Wild. I just wanna punch a Priest in the face, with no way for them to stop it.

Any brave souls out there who want to join me?

When someone attacks and kills the blocking creature with a spell before the ally attacks, the attacking creature then doesn't hit the enemy nexus, is this a bug or it's intended for some unknown reason?

What are some of your favorite and slightly unexpected combos?

Mine would be Zed and Single Combat. When attacking his clone is very useful for Single Combat, it's equivalent to 3 (usually) attack buff, and can actually bypass shield and (usually) frostbite.

And from a fluff perspective, it's funny that Lucianis a good combo with the Dead Isles.

For the rest of you, welcome! Here's why the title.

Runeterra, card economy is supremely valuable. Any card that gives you the card advantage is supremely valuable. Ruination is that on steroids.

It's never a bad draw. Ever. Either you're already winning on the battlefield in which case you're good. If you're not, it's a complete wipe of the board. And unless the opponent has been playing slow (giving just more opportunity for the ruination deck to draw said card) you'll kill pretty much everything they have.

The two exceptions are if the opponent has managed to pummel your nexus down and is playing a Piltover direct damage deck it stops an opponent dead. Since there aren't spell decks in Runeterra. (Yes, there are ones that focus more on spells but they're all still also creature focused.) Or if they have Deny the (literally) one card in the entire game that counters it. 

It only costs 9. That's by sixth turn. And unless the opponent is playing a facedeck you'll get there.

Also, it's shadow isles, easy to put together a deck that is literally meant to throw away it's own units (or automatically get them back on death.)

I'm all for balancing things, I just can't think of any way to make Ruination not stupidly overpowered. Making it cost 13 would help, but it'd still be a soft "I win" button.

I set up a Fireside Gathering and just finished my pack opening... and WOW is was a really great one! Probably my best one ever (I play since Beta).

I got both bundles, so there was a total of 145 packs.

Has anyone started a Fireside Gathering to open their packs yet?  I tried it but I couldn't open the packs.   I read that all gatherings are private now but you can still get Nemsy.    I can't establish my tavern yet so i'm guessing I have to wait until after it's over to do that and then I should get Nemsy?  I stupidly made it last 8 hours lol.  Oh well.

Figured I'd be honest in the title.

After playing almost nothing but expeditions over the last 2 weeks, I've come to the conclusion on two things.

1) Elusive is broken when able to be spammed.  Nothing new to the forums, it's a counter intuitive mechanic that forces people to either draft elusives in their trials, or to draft more removal spells than normal.  It doesn't help that removal spells also double as champion removal, and what you get is people building decks with (not joking) 6x Mystic shots (and no, ezreal didnt generate them either, yes that person drafted 6 mystic shots)

2) Shrooms are FAR too easy to stack.  I've seen people spam shrooms in non-teemo decks and win purely through attrition.  Throw in the fact that if you manage to hit with an upgraded teemo JUST ONE, you're pretty much guaranteed to lose to that Teemo deck.

There's just no coming back from a deck of 22 cards, that have 50 shrooms.  It's just WAY too easy to stack shrooms in decks.  The number of shrooms on the cards needs to be reduced.

• The Mushroom Burst card that inserts 5  shrooms ---> Changed to 4 Shrooms.
• The Mushroom Peddler card that inserts 3 shrooms when you cast a spell needs to either have his stats nerfed or his effect nerfed.  A 3/3 with a spell effect like that is far too strong, especially in decks that can stack shrooms or have a goal to stack shrooms.  He either needs to be a 2/2 (or possibly 2/3) or the effect needs to be Insert 1 shroom instead of 3 (and he can keep his 3/3 stats, but even then I think that's still broken)
• The Chump Wump card that gives you two mushroom bursts in hand.  A  4 cost 4/3 that gives you two mushroom bursts, that synergize with the aforementioned peddler.  Granted a 4/3 for 3 is sub-par starts so I think his stats are fine, but he should only create ONE single mushroom burst, not two in hand.

In short,  in expeditions where you can't guarantee removal, lifesteal, challenger, or elusive cards, it's just far too easy for shroom decks to be abused.   I literally am getting PTSD from teemo all over again (back when I played League) just thinking about the shroom spam and how annoying it is.   Just like in league, it's not a great tactic usually (i.e.. constructed) but it's such an annoying strategy that it boils down to player reactions.  

Someone plays the correct burst spells and destroys a minion, or survives my minion's damage.  That's skill,  and play/counterplay options like that in Runeterra is fantastic.  Definitely a better interactive play style than Hearthstone.  But affecting players cards has been always will be a "feels bad man" moment.  Inserting shrooms that you can't do ANYTHING about, even if they are delayed is a horrible balance decision.  It's most likely balanced in constructed, cause I don't see a ton of teemo/shroom spammers there.  But in expeditions It's decidedly an unfair situation...which brings me back to my title.

Either teemo/shrooms need to get reworked, or special balancing needs to occur for expeditions given that Legends of Runeterra is more finely tuned to snowballing out of control than other current card games.  /end rant.
