Goddamit Kibler, don't make me like you even more than I already do!

Dragon daddy got dragon sized balls. Nice to see he won't just ignore Blizz's decision on this.

I'm seriously considering not pre-ordering it this time. I've been barely playing HS nowadays due to annoying/boring meta. Plus I've been having a lot more fun with mtga. I haven't gotten salty at all when playing it, even when there are so many cancerous mono red decks out there.

I don't think I'll ever stop playing HS completely, but I've gotten wary of pre-ordering when the game has gotten so stale for me. It doesn't feel worth it.

Yeah HS got even less played for me lately. Obligatory quests and done. I've been enjoying MTG a lot more and never getting salty with it, it's amazing. Poor HS, I might even not buy any pre-orders this time around. :(

How competitive is competitive?  For instance, with Hearthstone you could learn the basics and pilot almost any deck from the lowest rankings to say Rank 10, before you really needed to start thinking about investing in cards.  Is this at all true of MTGA?

It really depends. You'll see a lot of mono red aggro decks in ladder, but if you have even a somewhat amateurish white weenie deck that blocks some creatures and gains life, they give up.

Likely the "safe" bet to climbing ladder would be an Esper control, but even they get hosed by Mana flood or getting Mana screwed. If your deck can be consistent, you can climb.

I've been trying to win some ladder games with a BW Vampires deck. I can't win everything, but it feels good when I do. I'm getting to slowly climb it, though I'm still at gold 4.

When I finish getting some wins though I enjoy playing a BG undergrowth deck. That one feels satisfying to win with :D

I'm somewhat glad I've been able to get a few ranks on ladder with secret mech pally, but does every single opponent has to play mech Hunter? Feels like it's the only one I ever get to face.

Couldn't it also achieve the same as mind blast, given that you have effects such as Embrace the Shadow? With less mana, though you need the healing to damage activator.

It can only target your own face, not your opponent's. So no

Ah dang, I didn't read that part correctly, thanks. I should get some sleep.

I can already feel the PTSD when I see a Big Priest using this. Like they needed more ressurects.

Been playing a bit more MTGA lately and coming back to HS I can say with complete certainty there is a huge problem with the game, and that problem is called "Standard Casual Mode."  I should not be able to know a player's exact 30 card decklist (most of the time) just by what their class is.   If we are going to operate with the understanding that Casual allows anything to be played, then Hearthstone needs more diversity.

    edit:

Also it's high time we rotated Divine Spirit/Inner Fire.  "You didn't clear the board every single turn" shouldn't mean "You died to a 5/5 while at full heath."

Truth be told, I'm only doing my HS quests in casual and leaving the game. MTGA can be a LOT more fun and varied. Even if I don't always win, you find a far bigger diversity of decks there

This has nothing to do with anything, but Kaladin has finally joined us on the new salt thread!

Just wanna say hi, as many others have done. Can't wait to see the site grow and the salt flow!

In comparison to hearthpwn, I gotta say I like the style here better. It might sound silly, but the expansion and class symbols being simpler and stylized make them so much better to look at.

I've been enjoying it a lot and swapping it with HS a lot lately. There's a lot of freedom in decks you want to build (as mtg has always been) and there's a ton of game modes. I wish HS could consider some of the modes they have, such as traditional ranking (with 2 best out of 3 games) and so on.

Is it just me or is everyone and their mother playing hunter lately? I came back from a vacation with my family and all I get is mech hunters. How bad have these new changes been?
