I'm not looking for any extra compensation or making a list of demands.. I think a lot of people take it a bit far but this is the internet. I've been around since Kobolds and Catacombs and I'll say this new system does feel a lot less rewarding. I usually do a pre order and an occasional mid season bundle. This time around I chose to go for the bonus experience on the rewards track. As someone who only has time to complete dailies it feels like I'm getting less in return and having to spend the extra money to get there, and that's a problem.
I would like to see them re-implement the 10g per 3 wins. There should also be a lot more gold / dust / pack rewards on the level track. 3 daily quests before would on average get you 200 gold and you could do whatever you wanted with that at no extra cost. Now my options feel restricted and my rewards feel picked for me. I won't continue to spend on this game in the next year if that's how restrictive they're going to be with reward systems when the premium is so high.
It feels like new years title will have more symbolism than just association with the expansion theming. "Hearthstone 2.0" would be nice. Think in-game stat tracking for constructed play, increased deck count. Battlegrounds is still in beta, and there's no clear way of monetizing it yet, for such a popular format they will have to come up with some incentives for people there. I wouldn't be surprised if the new expansion came with some sort of Battlegrounds perk on top of the regular things.
For Heroic Galakrond I used a variation of rez priest deck. Slotted in a shadowform, mindblasts, and Alexstraza. Ended up surviving him into fatigue and kept a taunt wall breathing. Gave him the mind blast for the final blow.
I just reread the quote and it looks like the drops are totally random for the first 15 days. So you could watch 9 hours and not receive one. However the last 3 days are timed drops. So you're guaranteed at least one after 3 hours and 6 hours.
If you're getting burned by big mechs frequently tech in some counters. Plenty of Neutral silence available, or other single minion removal depending on your class.
Not a Lock deck but I've been having fun with lifesteal buff pally. Lots of pally cards have synergy now with restoring health to your hero, so you can take some early damage, then lay down some big lifesteal minions pretty quickly to overtake the board.
Core set makes rotation time so much more exciting! Should bring a super fresh meta I hope.
I guess it depends on how easy it is to draw the card? Should be good for rogue maybe?

The Platinum color looks a little rough IMO. They should give it a little bit more shine if it's one step above gold.

Great recap, and fun read! Thank you!

Thanks Flux. Love the site and your quick responses with the community. So glad you decided to pursue and create out of cards.
I'm guessing the patch is not live yet on mobile? I'm not seeing new quests / arena ticket or anything new.

My favorite Uldum moment was hitting rank 5 for the first time in my hearthstone career. I've been playing since K&C but usually not competitively.

Great idea. Always love seeing golden cards on the board even if they're on the other side of the table.
