  • Actually a pretty good card for all kinds of DH decks. Aggro/tempo DH appreciates being able to clear opposing minions while also playing minions, and Kurtrus Ashfallen with the outcast effect helps a lot. Control/Soul/Midrange DH also appreciate being able to remove some minions. Kurtrus Ashfallen is a strong DH card, which will see lots of play.

  • I BET were going to see some more Fallen Hero kinda cards. I wouldn't even be surprised to see a 0 mana "your hero power deals 1 more damage this turn" spell printed. (Would be pretty safe now, considering Mana Cyclone rotates.) Reckless Apprentice without hero power boosts is also strong enough, and IT GOES FACE with the battlecry! Most people play Ras Frostwhisper just to deal 1 dmg to all enemies, and Reckless Apprentice does that for -1 mana, and isn't a legendary meaning you can include 2 copies of it. Sure Ras Frostwhisper scales with spell damage, but Reckless Apprentice has hero power synergy and it's VITAL in decks with Mordresh Fire Eye, which is Mages new "ultimate" remove (almost) everything card.

I honestly don't see any reason why this wouldn't see play.

  • CALLED IT! i KNEW Mage was going to have hero power syngergy like in Rastahkans arena when i saw Fallen Hero and Coldarra Drake in the core set! (also said that prediction in the Core set Guide/card ratings.)

Mordresh Fire Eye seems like a really powerfull Jan'alai, the Dragonhawk/Pyroblast/Highkeeper Ra hybrid. And with Fallen Hero, Coldarra Drake and Reckless Apprentice it might be pretty easy to get the effect off. This battlecry also really helps mage out because were losing The Amazing Reno. But it's also kinda sad that Arcane Amplifier rotates. But still, i can't wait to include this in some kind of Hero power mage deck in wild. Maybe it will see play in EVEN mage as well? I was so dissapointed when Jan'alai, the Dragonhawk didnt see that much play because she wasn't supported that well, i certainly hope Mordresh Fire Eye will get some more support to make sure it's decent, and i hope i can play Jan'alai, the Dragonhawk in wild more often. I love playing hero power mage! :)

  • Hmm, potentially worse Petting Zoo, and paladin secrets often are REALLY bad. But with the return of Avenge and the fact that there probably printing some new paladin secrets, it might become really good. Wait the "They transform back when they die" part makes it a LOT harder to deal with it actually. Kill one, it transforms back and now you have to be scared that the one you killed turned into Avenge or Oh My Yogg!. That's scary. IF Secret Paladin gets REALLY pushed, then i'm probably happy Mysterious Challenger isn't in standard. But on the other side, Secret Palladin might become a real thing again in Wild..

I'm kinda excited for Secret paladin, not gonna lie. BUT i certainly do hope that were gonna see a Eater of Secrets reprint. :)

  • INCREDIBLE card for control decks, it guarantees that you draw your highest cost spell which is really good. Okay let me just list the highest cost spells for each class so far.

DH: Cycle of Hatred/Expendable Performers/Fel Guardians. Seems like DH can only run it so far alongside some token synergy.

Druid: Survival of the Fittest. That's a scary card for Clown Druid...

Hunter: Nagrand Slam, Guardian Animals/Jewel of N'Zoth. I think Primordial Protector might get used in Deathrattle Hunter to guarantee draw Jewel of N'Zoth and maybe Nagrand Slam might finally see play in some kind of midrange deck? Seems surprisingly good.

Mage: Grand Finale/Deep Freeze, Flamestrike/Mask of C'Thun. Probably will see play in some kind of control mage deck.

Paladin: Libram of Hope and Commencement. These are the best targets for it, but one is a libram and will be discounted. But it's still a Libram of Wisdom on command. Commencement only fits in Big Paladin, which might get better thanks to Primordial Protector. (As long as you don't draw it with Commencement.)

Priest: Idol of Y'Shaarj and Soul Mirror. I'm guessing Priest probably doesn't want Primordial Protector together with Idol of Y'Shaarj in one deck. Soul Mirror is a 1 off because it's a legendary, so that's not good enough to make Primordial Protector worth it. But priest will probably get some big removal spell i hope.

Rogue: Sprint. Yeh rogue won't run it unless they get a really expansive spell that's good.

Shaman: Tidal Wave. Just like in the animation, and also shamans highest cost spell after the rotation.

Warlock: Twisting Nether and Deck of Chaos tutor. Seems pretty solid, Deck of Chaos decks needed some way to actually draw Deck of Chaos so this might help. On command drawing Twisting Nether is also really solid, but i'm not sure if that's good enough.

Warrior: Commencement and Brawl. Well seems like it's probably going to see play in Big Warrior, just like Big Paladin. Tutorring Brawl isn't good enough, so it won't see play otherwise.

Of course we don't know all the cards in the set yet, so this list can obviously change depending on what kind of cards get revealed. At least we do get a bit of insight in what it can do already.

  • Old Kazakus is an incredibly strong card that makes it a must-include in highlander decks, and now it's back with golems instead of spells. It's also interesting that Kazakus, Golem Shaper now has a Prince Keleseth/Prince Valanar/Prince Taldaram effect. Not gonna lie Kazakus, Golem Shaper already seems pretty good, despite the fact that we don't know what all the effects are.

The downside of Kazakus, Golem Shaper is that you can't have any other 4 cost cards in your deck, which could be a big downside actually. So far the best 4 cost cards in standard (After rotation) are: Baron Rivendare, Blessing of Kings, Cabal Acolyte, Circus Amalgam, Consecration, Fireball, Fire Breather, Il'gynoth, Kargath Bladefist, Kayn Sunfury, Marrowslicer, Overgrowth, Shardshatter Mystic, Ring Toss, Sword Eater, Tomb Pillager, Tidal Surge and Truesilver Champion. That are a lot of really good cards, which you can't really use if you want to play Kazakus, Golem Shaper. Kazakus, Golem Shaper has an very powerfull effect, but it does come at quite a big cost.

Actually Paladin is the class that will probably hardly ever play it, because they can't really afford to lose Truesilver Champion, Consecration and Blessing of Kings. The only reason Paladin might play it is only for the late game after they drawed their other 4 cost cards. (kinda like most very draw heavy decks run/used to run Zephrys the Great) The classes that probably does make room for it are Priest, Shaman and maybe mage?

  • These lists looks fun! Always loved Immortal Prelate Paladin decks. Certainly will try them all out in a bit! Interesting to see Moonfang included into a deck! (And Sir Finley of the Sands is often so underrated, he can often win games on it's own.)

The only card i don't have Wickerflame Burnbristle, so i'll include The Last Kaleidosaur instead for some more fun! :)

Alright, Anyfin Can Happen Paladin is saved! Nice. Stonetusk Boar isn't losing charge and will be super strong alongside The Caverns Below... NOOO!!..

I'm really happy that Bluegill Warrior didn't get it's charge removed, but i'm sad that Stonetusk Boar keeps charge. Stonetusk Boar is i.m.o. too problematic because it's always 1 good card away from being able to become oppresive or to give rise to a really unfun strategy. Bluegill Warrior kinda has the same thing going on, but because it costs 1 more mana it's probably a bit harder to try use in the same kind of combos as Stonetusk Boar.

Btw, for those probably screaming: "But it's in wild now, those combos won't be that strong after they print 1 synergistic card!", well look back at what pre-nerf Hysteria did to Wretched Tiller. That "one card" turned a bad 1 drop that pretty much never saw play, into a really unfun combo piece.

Even after everything i just said, i'm happy they listened to the community. That feels pretty good, and it feels even better considering the fact that most of the complaining came from the Wild community! Normally they ignore Wild and it's community a lot, but the fact that they listened now is amazing!

Hysteria was a turn 6/7 OTK that had twice of deck.

Caverns cant even comapre to that At all. Its way slower, weaker and inconsistent.

    ANd EXTREME vurnablity to aggro

Okay maybe i didn't write it down that well, but with the Wretched Tiller example, i meant that Stonetusk Boar is in a similar position as Wretched Tiller was before Hysteria got printed. All Stonetusk Boar needs is 1 super strong card in order to create a Wretched Tiller level of unfun deck to play against. I only tried to rever to Stonetusk Boars combo/OTK potential. I never ment to compare The Caverns Below rogue to the Wretched Tiller OTK deck, because those are 2 VERY different types of decks. (Even though there both weak to hyper aggro, which is basicly the wild meta right now.) I just tried saying that Stonetusk Boar is also a strong inclusion in The Caverns Below rogue in order to squish in some more damage.

  • I certainly hope it isn't a typo! Nitroboost Poison is too good and way too easy to corrupt. At 2 it will still be really strong, after all a similar card: Tinker's Sharpsword Oil still sees play to this day and that costs 4 mana, so why shouldn't Nitroboost Poison see play at only 2 mana? For those who for some Yogg forsaken reason didn't stockpile copies of Nitroboost Poison yet, save some so you can get a bunch of dust.

  • Changes i like:

Undertaker Strong card back then, but i don't think it will be that oppresive today.

Saronite Chain Gang: "How long can this go on?" Well it took long enough, but it's finally reverted. Shudderwock Shaman can now use it instead of Doppelgangster. Saronite Chain Gang also really helps the decks ability to survive the early game.

Dragonqueen Alexstrasza: Great change, and not THAT many highlander decks in wild even used her before. Now they certainly can for a big stat dump, and it wouldn't even be that broken. Why? Because the Wild meta is full of boring uninteractive decks like Secret Mage, Raza Priest and ODD Paladin that often win the game before turn 9.

Bad Luck Albatross: Great buff, might be a really good inclusion for a lot of decks against Raza Priest. Oh and it might be decent against Secret mage, because they don't want to draw 1/1s.

Change i dislike: Archivist Elysiana: WOW. Just wow.. She got MURDERED by this change. The only deck in wild that ever used her was ODD Warrior, and now they can't use her anymore. Okay now she MIGHT be usable in MAYBE a few other control decks, and she can be bounced and replayed... BUT if she doesn't find a new home, then they liturally removed her from the only deck she was playable in.. This change just seems like an HUGE gamble, considering she requires a REALLY strong control deck, while the Wild meta is hyper aggro with lots of uninteractive decks like Secret Mage and Highlander Priest. I REALLY like Archivist Elysiana and wish i could play her more, but this change feels way too risky to me. I sincerely hope that FitB gives us some more tools for wild control decks.

  • This may look weak, but always be careful around it, because this.. thing.. is a cold blooded killer. "aww it's so cute" is the last thing you think before it absolutely destroys you. Anyone who watched some of GrosGhiles videos knows the truth about this murderous thing.

Okay, enough joking around. Murloc Tinyfin is actually going to be a staple card. Because it's probably going in E.T.C., God of Metal OTK Warrior in order to get some more free rush minions together with Animated Broomstick. And considering the meta is PROBABLY going to slow down, this deck might become better.

  • It was completely unplayable until Stealth Rogue showed up, and now it's amazing. Really shows that even the worst cards can become good as long as they get good support. (Come on Blizz give us some OP Freeze shaman stuff. xD)

  • Meh, only good for heal zoolock in wild which isn't good. Oh and i guess arena?

  • AMAZING CHANGE. I'm so glad those sons of a *Yoggs* finally did it! Stonetusk Boar was often very problematic and allowed for way too many cheaty things. This nerf should have been like 7 years ago. And now that we see that The Caverns Below got unnerfed i'm only more happy with this nerf. No R.I.P for Stonetusk Boar, rather R.I.H. (Rest In Hell.)

  • Pen Flinger completely powercrept her, so she won't see play. Okay it will see play in arena, if someone didn't get a better ping option.

  • Maybe it sees play in aggro druid? Meh i don't think so..? It never saw play before, so i dunno if something like a Mark of the Wild buff will be good enough to make it playable? I feel like Token druid prefers things like Enchanted Raven

  • Solid for mech decks. But that said, there aren't many mech in standard right now. So this could hint towards some more mech support in the future? Could be cool.

  • Just here to make sure First Day of School doesn't get too good. Won't see play.

  • Solid minion, still sees play occasionally? (At least in Wild, i think?) Decent minion.
