Hmm.. Unfortunatly i don't think he will see play. Even with the buff your often not really using him as a taunt minion, but rather 6 damage to FACE. Even if the meta slows down because of the Core set, i don't think he would see play because why would you want to spend 8 mana to remove at most …
Quote From dapperdog Quote From Brandon Seems good now, but it does have to compete against [card]Self-sharpening sword[/card]. Unfortunatly i don't think [card]Assassin's Blade[/card] will see play, unless [card]Self-sharpening Sword[/card] gets nerfed.
Don't bet on it. Assassin's blade has a 10 damage total output compared to SSS which incidentally has the same damage …

luckily Self-Sharpening Sword will almost certainly be nerfed
I certainly hope it does. :)
AMAZING Rogue card, always has been always will be. [card]Backstab[/card] is super iconic and flavorful for rogue. Glad to see it still in standard.
One of the best rogue cards. Glad to see this powerhouse return. Strong combo starter and considering the fact that the [card]Jandice Barov[/card] pool is even better thanks to lots of bad 5 drops rotating, the [card]Shadowstep[/card] [card]Jandice Barov[/card] combo gets even stronger. Super strong card.
Hmmm it seems bad considering a lot of early game removals deal 3 damage these days, BUT [card]Bladed Cultist[/card] alongside a 1 drop on turn 2 seems really good in aggro decks. And it also seems strong alongside a [card]Coin[/card] on turn 1. Worst case scenario it's just a 1 mana 1/2 that activates a combo of one of your …
Glad to see it still in standard. [card]Deadly Poison[/card] is an iconic rogue card and really shows you that rogue is also all about weapons.
Perfect card, it perfectly portraits rogues identity and i'm so happy they buffed it so it works in mirror matches. It always had great flavor and it still sees frequent play in wild. Strong and fun card!
Strong buff for aggro rogue, Weapon rogue and Stealth Rogue. Strong card for the rogue core set.
Hmm.. i'm skeptical about this. It seems bad on first glance, but now that [card]Sap[/card] is gone this might act as a "replacement" as long as you have a minion on board. Which is pretty easy considering rogue has a lot of stealth minions right now. Alright.. i'm willing to give this card a chance, hope it doesn't dissapoint.
Seems solid, coins are amazing in rogue and it has good stats. I didn't play HS when this was around, but i heard it was used a lot. Like must include level strong. So i'm interested in seeing how good it will be in standard after all this time.
Solid buff, [card]Assassinate[/card] was always to expansive and now it actually is usable... kinda. [card]Malevolent Strike[/card] and [card]Coerce[/card] are still beter removals, but at least [card]Assassinate[/card] can now "compete". RIP [card]Walk the Plank[/card] though, and [card]Vilespine Slayer[/card] is no longer a full on upgrade anymore.
Aggro rogue still uses this surprisingly, and still makes [card]Wandmaker[/card] good. I.m.o. you know rogue is extremely strong if they can easely afford to run this card.
Staple combo card and i'm happy to see "heh, disquised toast" still in standard!

Interesting. Now we MIGHT see the classic [card]Preparation[/card] [card]Sprint[/card] combo again, BUT it does have to compete against the powerhouse that is [card]Secret Passage[/card]. But i feel like [card]Sprint[/card] might see more play in slower rogue decks that don't want to "lose" their hand for a turn.
Good 'ol [card]Preparation[/card]. One of rogue's best combo activator and mana cheat cards. Rogue without prep is unimaginable, so i'm glad it's still in the core set.
Wow it doesn't die to taking 1 damage randomly anymore! Good thing that 2 dmg AOE spells don't excist in the early game! that would be terrible!
Okay sarcasm aside, it's still bad and i forgot it existed. Stealth rogue probably doesn't want it unless they REALLY need a way to remove stuff now that [card]Sap[/card] is gone.
Never really saw play before i think, but compared to [card]Radiance[/card] it is a great upgrade. You probably will get this from random generation.
Hmm.. might still see play? Probably in some kind of control/value priest. Those decks will be a lot weaker because of Galakrond rotating, but it's still playable. Aggro/tempo priest probably doesn't want it, they rather include better statted 1 drops.
