I think this card has much more value than [card]First Day of School[/card]. Very good substitute when you don't draw the ramp early game.

Juicy situational damage spells for mage, love the design and that it scales so nicely with spell damage 

It's not terrible, good off a discover from [card]Carrion Studies[/card] and well worth it if played on turn 5
