Regardless of its power, Red Herring is 10/10 for flavor.

The easiest way to do this, including on Heroic, is with beasts. The Hunting Party treasure kills Ahune's adds as they're summoned. It doesn't get any faster. All you need is someone with Hunting Party and Lady Anacondra (who herself is eligible in a beast build). Her task 7 treasure makes it even easier but isn't required. It's a budget friendly option too: Blinkie, Anacondra, and Trigore are all rare, Mukla and Krush are epic. You can even toss Tavish in there (hunting Party is on his table) as long as you're disciplined enough not to use his Explosive Trap.

Wow, that speed change on Dopplegangster is really incredible! It opens the floodgates so wide to abilities like... uh... no, that's defensive... no, that's speed 3... no, that starts on cooldown...

    ...so, Grom.

And Pirates if you're using Edwin's Black Flag (although I prefer Even Shares in the vast majority of cases). And shadow abilities if you're bold enough to use Vol'jin against these punks. And Cookie, I guess? And Naga if you get the Secrets of the Naga treasure-- just kidding it's still broken, kek.

    So, Grom!

Yeah, Doppelgangsters can *still* go directly to heck.

    My thoughts on the tasks:

    1. No problem. Not much to say.
    2. Complete Yeti Hunter Ranel Bounty with at least 2 Night Elves In Winterspring.
      • No problem. A basic nature comp with Malf and Anacondra gets the job done easy peasy.
    3. Destroy Snowclaw in Winterspring without destroying any Frostbite Totems.
      • Fast, heavy-hitting fighters for the win. Xyrella/Samuro/Scabbs seems the budget option.
    4. Complete Ahune the Frostlord Bounty without using any Fire abilities in Winterspring.
      • All the times I've cleared this, including on heroic, I have never used fire abilities. That's because a beast comp with the Hunting Party treasure is both hilarious and hilarious effective.
    5. Complete Heroic Siren of the Deep Bounty with at least 2 Naga in Darkshore.
      • A step up in difficulty, perhaps, given that Naga are newer?
    6. Complete Heroic Coren Direbrew Bounty with only Casters in Blackrock Mountain.
      • I think this one looks scarier than it is. Most of the damage in the Direbrew fight is from the adds, not Coren himself, and the adds are protectors an all-caster team will eat. I like most people's chances here. The climb will be much harder than the boss.
    7. Use Yogg-Saron's Oh My Yogg ability and win a fight.
      • Cookie and his fishies say Hi.
    8. Complete Heroic Avalanchan battle with all your Mercs alive in Winterspring.
      • This is probably the hard part for most people. I bet Alexstrasza and the new, improved Dragonqueen's Gambit might have fun with this. Or maybe some counter-freezing stuff with a Frost comp. Hm.
    9. Complete Heroic Coral Elemental Bounty with at least 3 Naga in The Sunken City.
      • It's actually ideal to do this fight with Naga, because Tidemistress Athissa owns this. You use Warlord Parjesh to eat some of the fishies' attacks and kill them over a round or two. Then, you hit Coral with Tidemistress' second ability, that recurs damage after an attack. Coral gets caught in an infinite loop of attacks because each time it attacks it takes damage, attacking again... but you're getting hit for 2 or maybe 7 damage per attack, so you're easily winning the exchange. Athissa is a hero.
    10. Heal and Deal 50 damage in one battle using Yogg-Saron.
      • Cookie and his fishies say Hi.

If you were wondering who "Decimator Olgra" was...

    ...that's Mankrik's wife.

A similar thing happened to me, actually! I usually don't climb to Legend, I get to D5 and call it a month. I started running Mur-lock for achievement purposes, accidentally found myself at Diamond 2, and say, "Well, gosh, I guess I'll do the thing".

Interesting that you recommend Black Flag on Edwin. I've been getting oodles of mileage out of Even Shares-- it's the only sustain the comp really gets. I also strongly suggest you give Dreadblades a try on Vanessa. It transforms her into a scaling, synergistic Xyrella.

I'm not too troubled by either of those, frankly. Control Warrior is good but there are decks that wallop it, and we want it to be pretty good to keep Curse Warlock in check. Cariel doesn't need adjustment because there's a neutral counterplay card with Tradable that's universally available. I think Standard is in a good place overall, actually.

In case anyone was tempted to try and see if it was fixed: I was, too, so I tried it this morning! Nope, still broken.

Heh, was about to come here to report the same thing. Alas! Pirates are good now and yet they do nothing!

I tried to do it in a more conventional way than just abusing Cookie, by trying to use the Yeti in Wintergrasp, except then I had to turn people into ice blocks because that's what happens when they die even when they're attacking the Yeti, except I had to manage when the jerk was going to attack which ones all while keeping Y'shaarj himself alive and--

Let's just say that abusing Cookie is definitely the easier way to do this.

I completed it without completing it. On completion of my first battle after getting assigned the task, the task told me it was completed. I wasn't even in Winterspring.

I guess I'll accept this bug in my favor, although I'm still salty about Baine's Chain Heal healing for zero.

Yes, if the duplication move were slower you could get some damage on them first, have them be cloned at lower health, and clean them up. But 90+? Seriously?

Do not pass Go. Do not collect $200.

Seriously, screw these guys. They are the absolute ruination of run after run for me, on Normal and Heroic.

Perhaps not the ideal place to ask this question, but... my Baine Bloodhoof's Chain Heal is "healing" for zero. For a few usages it was healing for one health per tick, now I get the animation and the chaining effect but no healing. Is anyone else seeing this?

Also, the "Secrets of the Naga" treasure is either incredibly bugged or has incredibly misleading text. When I choose it as a treasure, it only affects one of my naga-- and when they take damage, it jumps to a different naga, or a different merc altogether if I have no other naga, only it doesn't do anything if it jumps to a non-naga and just sorta... dissipates? It's weird.

Also also, the game sometimes forgets the order it's supposed to do things in if there's a combo involved, or if one of the involved mercs has taunt, or sometimes if I changed the order of my moves, or sometimes just because.

It's been a bit of a rough patch, is what I'm saying.

Give them a chance. I was historically unimpressed with Pirates too, but the Trigore patch gave a HUGE buff to the VanCleefs and to Sneed. Edwin was already the best thing about the build, but with Kingpin's Bounty on a one-turn cooldown now he can use Even Shares for great party sustain. Vanessa's reworked Burgle Barrage, especially with the Dreadblades equipment, allows her to function like a punchy, scaling Xyrella, protecting friendly attackers by stealing enemy attack. (If you're still building your Vanessa, ignore all abilities and equipment besides Burgle Barrage and Dreadblades.) She's especially nice for a build like pirates that attacks so much. Eudora is good and can pull some shenanigans; Smite is fine and goes bonkers against enemy AoE; Hooktusk tries too hard but, along with Patches, is an attacker in the Caster role, which slots right in. The build can do stuff, is what I'm saying.

Mercenaries bug: Tyrael's "Bench" treasure, Divine Intervention, doesn't work. Tyrael just keeps his holy keister on the bench as your mercs get munched. Sadness.

Took me 113 packs to get the three legendary mercenaries. In case we needed more confirmation that the Mercenaries pack economy stinks and that holding the packs for content releases is the way to go.

Fathom-lord Karathress was a boss in Serpentshrine Cavern during WoW's Burning Crusade expansion. It was a council-style fight where he had several adds helping him, and got bonus abilities as those adds died.

I swear you are speaking this into existence.

I mean, you'd need both copies of Moonbeam, Malygos, and not much else (one Innervate and/or having played Guff) for 24 damage right there, and Druid can tutor Malygos at will with Coldtooth Mine. The gameplan probably isn't much different than standard Ramp Druid, except that instead of burying people under a wall of stats, you make pew-pew noises and kill them outright from hand. Uh oh, this might be happening...
