Moonbeam is Arcane Blast that goes face...
I know this is the wrong page, kind of, but there was a small tease for Mercs today.
Baine Bloodhoof, Tauren protector; Captain Hooktusk, pirate caster; and Yrel, Draenei fighter, were all revealed in the discord.
I think they're supposed to do more teases tomorrow and Monday
Spirit of the Tides - Probably never played. The last thing an aggressive druid needs is to skip curve just so this card can elevate itself once.
Herald of Nature - Team5 removes Savage Roar, prints Arbor Up. Then they remove arbor up and print this card. At least we can be thankful for small mercies that this card grants a 1/2 instead of 2/1.
And finally Moonbeam, perhaps one of the best cards for druid. Its combo potential, and it allows druids to play that same degenerate ramp druid except now you can't interact with it. Probably something for the future, because druid in standard is currently so deep in shit it cant hold its head up. But I've a feeling this card will be insane at some point in the next year. Perhaps not even that far in the future. On its own right now, its just exactly what I need for a burn druid up in duels.
spirit of the tides doesnt elevate itself just once. its a perma effect
What's the purpose of Moonbeam?
I guess it's a good early removal spell if you can't run Living roots because of Jerry Rig Carpenter, but other than that it seems redundant unless we somehow get Spell Damage Druid back (and at that point it'S probably a degenerate OTK and nobody needs that)
Spirit is useless, Uldum Quest doesn't exist anymore and you're not gonna play an effective vanilla 3-mana 3/4
Herald looks interesting though? Should be easy to activate and it's a really massive buff if you have the board for it. Perhaps a Nature/Naga/Beast Durid hyrbid appears?
Like....there are plenty of decks around that don't do much for the first 3 turns. You can Living Roots + something on turn 2 and have a massive board on turn 3.
I swear you are speaking this into existence.
I mean, you'd need both copies of Moonbeam, Malygos, and not much else (one Innervate and/or having played Guff) for 24 damage right there, and Druid can tutor Malygos at will with Coldtooth Mine. The gameplan probably isn't much different than standard Ramp Druid, except that instead of burying people under a wall of stats, you make pew-pew noises and kill them outright from hand. Uh oh, this might be happening...
I wonder if Malygos is still viable to be used with that new spell, 1 mana 12 damage.
