Judging by no gameplay-time, or beta access to any streamer, I'm gonna say that it's not ready yet. They probably facing a lot of unstability in game, or worse, game-breaking bugs. It's a huge new mode with more than 30 chars and a lot of progresses.
Releasing it to the masses in this state will only make the already-bad impression into a worse state of publicity. More worse than asking to buy bundles for something that's not working properly even though it's "free to play".

So should I complain when there's no control meta able to survive anymore? I think I should. I mean, what's the point in printing cards like Kresh, Lord of Turtling, etc if it's not gonna be very useful in the meta.
Would be better of if they don't use packs/lootboxes as income source. If they intended to make this like all mobile games, just sell coins directly. or unique characters. But they did still chose the lootbox which I think is bad for at first impression, since it totally makes the game sounds pay to win.
Why not let us test the game, and then later sell the bundle? If the game is good, players at least have reason to buy it. But to sell the bundle like this immediately make a very clear statement to the player that they want money first, goodies later. Also, people who want to spent it have to wait like a month before knowing exactly what they bought? That is bad marketing.
Personally, I doubt this mode would be popular, but since they make it part of Hearthstone, they have reason to believe that some players can be persuaded to like it.
Lastly, why must this mode instead of the mode that players have asked for years? Tournament mode for example. They have proved that they can make a new mode no matter hard by focusing people and resources into it, why not do it for Tournament first? Fact like this makes me questions their purpose of making games. Is it for them or us the players? They could've made some income by selling tickets to play tournament.
The new game mode feels rushed. I still prefer if they put their whole resources to build tournament mode, or custom mode, or even a fix for social side from the platform, where it's easier to communicate and interact with each other, instead of making this mode where no one asks before.
It's like they're doing the things they like, but never the things we want or need. (regarding the modes)

I'm too hyperly aggresive for about 15 minutes in that last round just trying my best and too excited when my opponent conceded. The feeling was unforgetable. But afterwards I feel weak and powerless when it passed..
So, there's a lot of uncertainty regarding this. One thing got me curious, if BG has been very polished since it came out, won't a big overhaul ruin it? (Chances are it will). Why change an already good mode into something different (if the overhaul means what I think it means)?
EDIT. Part of me imagining they need some new ways to monetize the already good mode. I think cosmetics only doesn't really give them that much profit. So, they need to 'overhaul' some of it.
Me personally, I think I can just remove the 'beta' tag once BG get a massive update and stable enough.
As for the Win 5 games of ranked play mode weekly quest, I just played Questline Druid in Wild 5 times which really kicks the asses out of the other rampant Questline combo decks (solid 69% winrate) and be done with the ladder until the new weekly quests arrive again. Of course, this is still not a Control deck, but it does feel somewhat enjoyable to stomp the current meta decks very efficiently for the 3000 XP (with 20% XP boost). Perhaps you could try to do the same as I did.
So, here I am with Lv.20 still, I tried my best at summoning any incentives to play Hearthstone again to no avail. What makes it worse is that I don't want to follow the trend and play Aggro or combo (I still prefer Control deck to this point), to the point where winning 5 ranked felt impossible last week. Maybe I'll fail at it again this week.
So yeah. I'm not gonna play any more Hearthstone until they change the game to favor all kind of deck. It's not much to ask is it not?
If it's gonna be random, won't there be some players who would get unfamiliar class to play with? I know for certain there are players who never use certain classes in Hearthstone, so to adjust themselves playing that class would take a bit of time (and losses). But the xp bonus is nice.

There has been a few instances where I would just fuck it all and uninstall Hearthstone. Fucking DCs and animation lag even tho I had GTX 1660TI.

Well, to go back to the topic, I face a lot of Warlock lately, Diamond 9. Shaman Elemental too, but mostly Quest Darkglare SoS Warlock.
