Is Shadow Priest still any good at higher ranks? I'm at gold 5 because I'm a Wild main and haven't touched Standard in a while, but it works well enough for me there.
Yeah, shadow priest works fine in both formats. It's around tier 2 in standard I'd imagine.
Yeah, this seems like a fun idea to push class diversity.
The f2p whinging is moot as they are not negatively impacted by it in any way.
I also don't understand why people care about star inflation. Rank doesn't matter anyway except high legend, for tournament qualification purposes, where stars don't exist to begin with.
Lol that Wild Rogue list is clearly fake, Sprint hasn't been used since HS launched 🤣
Pillager rogue was already played last expansion though. Popularized by a Chinese player. It's just never been good so I don't see how it's changed now...
Cut the devolves (useless in 2021) for the Ice FishingToxfin and Firemancer Flurgl package. Which is basically mandatory in shaman decks nowadays.
As others have noted, Bolner isn't in your list.
Not wanting to craft Loatheb and Aya is weird given that the former is insane paired with Shudderwock and the latter is mandatory for jade decks that aren't druid, but whatever.
Hex, stonehill and bog slosher should probably go.
I'm almost exclusively playing Wild and it looks like the meta is healing there. Shortly after release everybody was playing QL Warlock, now the ladder is full of hyper Aggro decks, we're even having our own version of Shadowpriest. The logical next step would be the return of Control lists that counter the aggro fiesta and voilà: we're back at rock-paper-scissors with Secret Mages laughing their asses off because they just don't care.
Right, so what have we, once again, learned about these extremely premature nerf takes everyone?
Questline hunter is one of the most overrated decks in standard, aka gigabad and warrior is barely playable. Vastly overshadowed by other quests such as mage (overplayed), warlock (quest nerf candidate #1) and rogue (quest nerf candidate #2).
Maybe they want to communicate, but the upper management told them to stay quiet. You can't expect them to not follow orders. So we can't blame Hearthstone about this because we don't know what's going on. It's not their decision.
One other reason is the feedback they would get for everything they say, especially at this moments. Toxicity and Disputes comments would hinder the important announcement. You can't evade things like this. So staying quiet is possibly the best solution.
?
I never directed this at the HS team. This was aimed at all of Blizzard. Whether they refuse to talk themselves or told everyone else to keep quiet.
Also, still not addressing Oh my Yogg! while adding a new secret with the miniset just to make playing around those things even harder.
How would you even go about nerfing OMY though? Make it so it only triggers on 3 mana or lower spells so it doesn't act as a counterspell for high cost spells?
I usually visit this place once a day. (More if work is slow.) Generally reading the news for HS and LoR and checking the forums to see if there's any threads about those two games that interest me.
I don't post as much as I used to since most of the discussions I like to partake in are meta-related. I'm a filthy netdecking metaslave so card creations and such don't interest me all that much. And there aren't that many threads about the former over here.
Sure the forums can be a little slow at times. But then I look at this site's predecessor and see people whine about metas a day after balance changes were released and generally the most dumbest of takes and opinions and am once again reminded that it's better for my mental health to stay here.
I don't know why they nerfed Spring Water because "we're aiming to lower the frequency of extreme turns where Refreshing Spring Water draws cards and gains you mana in the process." but left Incanter's Flow untouched, when Incanter's Flow can still achieve the same effect.
They clearly stated that if they'd nerf flow, spell mage would take a massive dive in winrate, bordering unplayability. They didn't want to go that far.
Also lol @whoever said warlock has the best control tools. The deck is absolute dumpster-tier still.
I messed up the decklist, and can't seem to properly link it. But yes, I am already running those two cards. https://outof.cards/hearthstone/decks/26581-reno-priest-tech
There's not really a magic card or trick to winning that matchup, I'm afraid. There's a reason it is favored into nearly every deck at all levels of play, including Reno priest. Best you can do is disrupt and clear their board as much and often as possiblr
I don't know the exact answer to your question I'm afraid. But I can tell you that I have diamond Ragnaros and do not have Elite Tauren Chieftain or Gelbin Mekkatorque.
Can we like lock this thread or something already. It's basically becoming a yearly cycle at this point where Kaladin shows up, asks for a deck, and then starts dismissing every single tier 1 deck as 'terrible', 'godawful', etc. because he can't win with them.
But it's definitely not him, no no. His opponents are just always super lucky to always be topdecking the perfect answer and always having god hands. It's a broken record at this point.
I am legitimately asking for help and clearly frustrated at the outcome thus far.
Before you dismiss my comments as exaggerations or refusing to take responsibility for my losses........why don't you spectate a game or two of mine?
1. Have you ever considered that switching the deck after every other loss or so may actually hurt you more than it helps?
2. Considering the amount of games you've supposedly played, based on your posts in this thread, it's virtually impossible that every single of those losses is solely because you're extremely unlucky. I'd rather not waste my time watching replays of someone who's clearly not willing to listen and/or improve themselves.

I'd love to get a grip of Rush Warrior. I have most of the cards and it's really fun to play, but the few times I've taken it to ladder I've lost. I'd love to get some pro tips from you guys to settle on a list and play it correctly. I don't have E.T.C. or Whatley, but I might craft Playmaker.
I've always enjoyed the rush warrior archetype so I was glad to see this iteration started doing well. I gave it a shot this weekend and definitely wasn't disappointed.
If you're looking for a good guide I'd recommend the one made by NoHandsGamer (https://youtu.be/WlLYVodFfoA) in which he covers general playstyle, mulligans and showcases gameplay against different decks.
As for replacements; ETC is covered in the video. I'd say Whatley is one of your better draw engines but if you really want you can replace him with something like a Battle Rage. Considering all your rush cards give you the initiative you'll almost always be able to make favorable trades and should be able to get some good draws out of it. Playmaker seems pretty key though. It's one of your snowballing threats and therefore very important.
Alternatively, you could wait two more days and see what kind of build viciousSyndicate come up with.
This really isn't a hot take as it's pretty known among the better players that paladin is the deck with the oppressive win-rate. Mage's winrate is 'just' tier 1 but ridiculously overplayed for some reason.
The reason why it's a problem is exactly as you described. Because it has a card that boosts its winrate to toxic levels if played early, much like Keleseth. Nothing wrong with the deck being strong, if it's got counters, which it does, and doesn't generally rely so heavily on drawing a single card.
And then there's the fact that people are turned away from the game simply because once every three games they'll face a mage. Even if the deck isn't the strongest, the fact that it has made standard this boring while we're only a week in isn't healthy for the game. We've had a similar scenario with Barnes in wild a few years ago. The deck's nerf is justified, even if it's not a meta tyrant.

Iunno about that one chief...

Biggest upside for me is that secret mage got some (hard) counters, in the form of odd hunter especially.
Absolutely blessed, screw everyone who still plays that cookie cutter deck after god knows how many years it's been around.
...then what should cards which you build the majority of your deck around, be?
Right, so what have we, once again, learned about these extremely premature nerf takes everyone?

Neither makes sense to me.
Look, I completely understand that pointing random fingers is nonsensical because no one here knows who the actual culprit would be.
What I don't understand is why Blizzard choose the radio silence option. Especially for one of their better-running games at this moment.
Call me naive but how could this approach possibly be better than at least saying something.
At least from my professional experience the worst thing one can do is not communicate. Which is exactly what they're doing right now...

You're running Mindrender Illucia, I hope?
That's really your best shot at winning that matchup. Play her when you can play some of their buffed minions and maybe waste a Conviction.

Control warlock has a 38% winrate versus secret paladin? How does it beat them?
