Tried the deck out and made some adjustments to it. As I felt it was too much Mech based. I prefer to keep it around the key card, Augmented Porcupine. Also, I missed some draw. See my adjusted decklist below.
Awesome, great idea. If I may suggest a couple of things:
Decks to add:
- Casino Mage. Possibly add Enchanted Cauldron, or similar cards.
- Open the waygate Mage.
- Elemental Mage.
- Shuffle Rogue (with the spiders, bears ect.).
- Evolve Shaman.
- Elemental Shaman.
- Spitefull Summoner Druid.
- Taunt Druid.
- Corrupt Priest.
- Cube lock Warlock.
- Augmented Porcupine Hunter
- Any class with the old Wispers C'thun.
To just name a few :).
What I personally always try to do each expansion, is to make decks around the lesser used Epic cards. As a lot of them are often quite unique, but don't really fit in any meta deck.
Other:
- To add this compendium as a button to the main HS site page, or make it easy to find in the menu. As I couldn't find it there, and needed to return to the main page post to open it again.
I do agree that the deck doesn't have many great match-ups in the current meta. Maybe swapping out Runic Carvings for a tech card would help? I've been playing the deck a lot at diamond 10/5, and my winrate is almost 50%.
This combo might be a bit hard to play frequently. But the Stealer + Plot Twist = Swap full hand = High chance to get and play Ilusionist for health instead of mana = Play Ilusionist and lose 3 health = Your're now able to spam all (at least 5) big threats you have in your hand for free (preferably strong battlycry or deathrattle minions) combo seems quite easy to realise. You only need to survive till turn 6 of 5 with the coin.
I have a question; with the new update installed, I gained some rewards for 'the great victory' achievement. I'm at 5000+ wins. It showed me I gained multiple golden commons, rares, epics and even 8 golden legendaries. But when I check in my collection, it doesn't show. Is this a known issue?
Honestly, I wouldn't add Warsong Envoy to the list if you want to play Overlord Saurfang as well. As it's really not a card you want to resurrect with it. I would keep Overlord Runthak, as it provides a lot of value. Also, Cleave could be a nice addiction to the deck, as it helps regain the board in the early stages.
For Rogue, Xaril, Poisoned Mind might be a good idea as the class legendary. It would fit nicely in combo oriented decks, due to the low-cost spells she adds to your hand. Would be a nice fit for Rogues core set of cards.
Yes, with powercreep I indeed meant a strong meta deck. Because of no new inflow, and no nerfs are made, the same decks always stay strong. Hence the idea of class rotations. And of course some are better against each other, than others. But that is also why I came up with the idea of a weekly rotation, to keep the meta continuously fresh and innovative. (When there are no nerfs, or inflow from other cards).
What I think is a good idea for the HS Classic mode, is the rotation of classes. For example every week three classes can be played with, out of nine. And then the following week another three. This could be a class that was also playable the week before, but it doesn't have to be. These should then be chosen randomly each week.
In this way the Classic meta stays 'new' every week, because of the select availability of classes each week. Thus, the powercreep decks not being continuously playable.
Murgurgle Prime is basically a dead draw as in any deck that runs this, it'll likely be an 8 mana 6/3 with Divine Shield and nothing else. This could've worked as a balance of the card to prevent it from being too OP with a chance to get bad Primes, but it'll feel really bad to get a card and not be able to use it.
Why would the Murloc prime be a dead draw from Envoy Rustwix? A 6/3 and 4 random Murlocs with divine shield is quite nice, even in Warlock. A class which tends to have slower match-ups overall. Might not be the best prime to see shuffled in your deck, but still...
First of all, love the idea.

Good one! I swapped Medivh for Loatheb, as he was often just way to slow to play.

You've outdone yourself this time. 10 (!) deck variants in one article. Kudos.
The sword, worn by Mysterious Challenger during TGT, was long lost. Until now...
Well done OOC team. Appreciate all of the hard work.

Although I do get your arguments as well.

Awesome, thanks for sharing!
Great showcase, again! Is it maybe possible to also do this for off-meta wild decks, or to include some? As I love wild.
Love this new series!
