Runeterra Gauntlet Game Mode Starts This Friday

Published 5 years, 5 months ago by (Updated 5 years, 4 months ago)

Starting this Friday (June 26) we will be able to participate in the weekly Gauntlet mode for Legends of Runeterra. It will run Friday - Monday each week and offer various rewards and bonus XP. You'll submit a deck, following the current format, and fight your way to 7 wins. The first Gauntlet will be Standard decks and next week will be a Singleton event, allowing only one copy of each card in your deck. What format would you like to see next?

  • Just completed my first Gauntlet.

Quick review -  it was like playing normal ranked. A bit less XP for winning and loosing each match (100 xp for win, 50xp for loose) and you get bonus XP for wins (which caps at 1100 at 7 wins, if I remember correctly). There are 2 rewards, both are player icons, first one is for taking part and second one is for winning all 7 matches. The icon for winning looks great imo.

You can play Gauntlet multiple times for free.

It is promising - with new rules each week it might be cool mode, where you can "do something else" besides normal game mode.

  • Excited! This first one will be cool just for testing the waters, but it's going to get interesting when they start the special rules.

  • I appreciate any and all content they put on the game, but as i mainly play against bots to do the dailies i don't see myself making much use of this one

  • So this is just expedition but you bring your own deck instead of making one as you go.

Looks like.  My question is: can you attempt multiple runs, or is it one-and-done?  And if multiple runs: will each be free or will there be a cost circa expeditions and HS Brawlnasiums.

      • I'm not sure if there's a cost associated with it. They've haven't mentioned it anywhere if there is. They also didn't say anything about multiple runs.
