The big news today is that the final Legends of Runeterra expansion for Set 3, Cosmic Creation, has finally been announced! But what will this new expansion include? Let's recap what we've learned from previous announcements and some of the dev team's previous statements on social media:
- A release date of Wednesday, December 16 going live at approximately 11am PST
- 40 new cards total
- Noxus, Targon, and P&Z should each receive 1 new champion and 9 non-champion cards -- likely 1 new Epic, 3 new Rares, and 5 new Commons. (P&Z's new epic will be Mechanized Mimic)
- Additionally, one of P&Z's non-champion cards will be a landmark removal ability
- Bilgewater should receive 2 non-champion cards -- most likely 1 Epic and 1 Rare
- Demacia should receive 2 non-champion cards -- most likely 1 Epic landmark and 1 Rare landmark removal ability
- Freljord should receive 2 non-champion cards -- most likely 1 Epic and 1 Rare, one of which is a landmark removal ability
- Ionia should receive 2 non-champion cards -- most likely 1 Epic landmark and 1 Common
- Shadow Isles should receive 2 non-champion cards -- most likely 1 Epic and 1 Common
- Epic landmarks for Ionia and Demacia
- Landmark removal for Freljord, Demacia, and P&Z
- A new keyword, Augment: When you play a created card, grant me +1|+0
What we suspect:
- We have a pretty good idea who the remaining champions will be
- The P&Z champion will feature the new Augment keyword
- The Targon and Noxus champions will have high synergy between them a la Soraka + Tahm Kench or Miss Fortune + Quinn
- Possibly new synergies for The University of Piltover and Noxkraya Arena
- Possibly more Nightfall cards outside of Targon

Some spoiler-ish thoughts on champions and archetypes, assuming the datamined leaks are true:
Were finally getting Viktor, Riven and Zoe.
I expect Vik to have something like Add random junk to your hand and augment but what do you think the others are gonna get?
Since Riot tend to create champions who are meant to work together, and based on the leaked voice lines, I think Riven is gonna create blade fragments like Draven Spinning Axe. As for Zoe she will probably have an effect related to invoke, they both have synergy with the new augment Keyword. Or maybe she will have both daybreak and nightfall effect like Eclipse Dragon, she is the aspect of twilight after all.
