United in Stormwind is finally here! Hearthstone's new expansion is finally available and, with that, a new Duels meta is going to emerge. For the sake of completion, the current deckbuilding pool has been changed, given that now you can choose cards from the following sets:
- (NEW) United in Stormwind
- Wailing Caverns Mini-Set
- Forged in the Barrens
- The Darkmoon Races Mini-Set
- Madness at the Darkmoon Faire
- Scholomance Academy
- (NEW) Kobolds & Catacombs
- Journey to Un’Goro
- One Night in Karazan
- Whispers of the Old Gods
- Curse of Naxxramas
- Legacy (Basic/Classic)
- Core
In particular, the addition of Kobolds & Catacombs means that many of the powerful cards from that set will very likely make the cut into currently existing archetypes or push new ones to playability. While pros need more time to completely understand the new meta, some players were already able to get in some 12 win runs which gives us a general idea of what is going to be good in the next few weeks. As always, here's a collection of 12 win starting decks across different classes featuring either United in Stormwind or Kobolds & Catacombs tools. Enjoy!
If you've had 12 win luck in Duels since the expansion launched, be sure to add them to our site via the deckbuilder and share them in the comments below!
Chrome575's 12 Win Quest Demon Hunter
Final Showdown hasn't received much praise from the constructed pros, but this one is definitely an interesting way to exploit Demonslayer Kurtrus. In fact, the cost reduction from both the Questline's steps and reward will make your cards so cheap that you'll be able to easily spam them in combination with Outlander for a huge damage output throughout multiple turns.
Fireshaper and Oops, All Spells! seem to be two of the best Passive Treasures for this build, given that you already run no minions and spells are much easier to discount (Rhonin's Scrying Orb, Khadgar's Scrying Orb and Orb of Revelation are clear examples of what we're implying).
Passive Treasures Chosen
First pool - Fireshaper
Second pool - Oops, All Spells!
Coud's 12 Win Token Druid
Token Druid received a solid buff in Vibrant Squirrel and Sow the Soil, which improved an already well performing deck. But that's not all: Composting synergizes perfectly with the wide boards you're able to create, allowing you to not run out of resources too quickly, with is definitely a big upside for an aggressive archetype. Meek Mastery, one of the new Passive Treasures, looks like a valuable choice for Token Druid, given that most of the "egg" minions you already want to run (Runic Egg, Nerubian Egg, Haunted Creeper) are Neutrals so we would not mind a cost reduction and a stats buff with no real downside!
Even though it might appear quite the strange inclusion, Crossroads Watch Post is a very clever tech choice by Coud in order to counter Priest's spell-heavy lists (see below for an example) - if you have one in your collection, try it yourselves!
Passive Treasures Chosen
First pool - Meek Mastery
Second pool - Mummy Magic
TeamAmerica's 12 Win Questline Mage
Quest Mage, but not Open the Waygate: this time we're talking about United in Stormwind's Sorcerer's Gambit. Although many of you may be familiar with this spell because of its popularity on ladder, we think there's potential for it in Duels as well. None less than TeamAmerica brought this archetype all the way to 12 wins. Both the signature Hero Power and Treasure are quite unique:
- Secret Studies is an efficient card draw engine; most secrets have a Spell School (Explosive Runes is Fire, Ice Barrier and Oasis Ally are Frost, Counterspell and Mirror Entity are Arcane), a synergy which will definitely speed up your Quest completion.
- Britz Blazebucket is a little harder to justify, but my personal guess is that you kind of need some form of board presence in a deck that runs mostly spells outside of just a couple minions (in this case Wand Thief and Ras Frostwhisper, being the latter an incredible tool once you're able to play Arcanist Dawngrasp).
Passive Treasures Chosen
First pool - Arcane Flux
Second pool - Orb of Revelation
Goodboy's 12 Win Miracle Shadow Priest
United in Stormwind gave Mindrender Illucia a handful of good cards to play with: Void Shard, Twilight Deceptor and Voidtouched Attendant have potential to see play in the game mode. The latter, in particular, seems to be the most intriguing (and very likely broken) addition to Miracle Priest, since it will turn each Mind Tether hit into a Voidform ping: combine it with Fireshaper and you'll blast your opponents out of the game in no time
Here's a YouTube video (from 7 wins to 12 wins) that shows how far you can go with this new version of Miracle Priest.
Passive Treasures Chosen
First pool - Divine Illumination (Fireshaper would be the best though)
Second pool - Orb of Revelation (Khadgar's Scrying Orb is also fine)
Stormwind Elemental Shaman
Before United in Stormwind's release, Elemental Shaman was one of Duels' strongest decks: doesn't matter what Passives you got offered, you were usually able to obtain a nice score. However, we recently received even more Elemental support, so it's time to go back to the drawing board and include both Canal Slogger and Granite Forgeborn (which, obviously, are too good to be left out) in our starting decks.
As obvious, Elementals really benefit from Battlecry Passives, so try to find the good old All Together Now, Rally the Troops or Battle Totem and you should be good to go.
Passive Treasures Suggested
First pool - All Together Now
Second pool - Rally the Troops
krzHS' 12 Win Tempo Rogue
Differently from all the decks above, this list does not contain any United in Stormwind cards, but Kobolds & Catacombs' Cavern Shinyfinder represents a very relevant addition for Infiltrator Lilian, because now Rogue may start thinking about combining Deadly Weapons 101 with Kingsbane while being able to consistently tutor the latter.
Passive Treasures Chosen
First pool - All Together Now
Second pool - Rally the Troops

This Quest Demon Hunter is really good! I made 12 wins and lost only 1 match.
But instead of Fireshaper I got Robes of Shrinking. It has awesome synergy with this deck card draw.
Also I got good card buckets with at least 1 card drawing others, this played an important role.
That questline Demon Hunter deck is very different and a lot of fun! The sword upgrading enough to complete a step of the questline itself is very useful.
Nice, was going to try Duels after climbing ranked a little, since I wanted to try the quests in it, thanks!
Also took Goodboy's list above to 12 wins today. Voidtouched Attendant is insanely good, especially with Fireshaper. One game against an all spells DH I took him from 37 to zero using just two Bag of Coins and two Silences. I'd almost cut all other creatures and add Insight to maximize my chances of drawing her.
Yea I agree with Voidtouched Attendant very good with Mind Tether and Psyfiend. Also got a Bag of Coins haha, and also got the stormwind achievement so if you can't win with shadow priest, least we can complete the achievement in duels
Well that was an extremely good result: well played
I used this deck to get to 11 wins in Heroic Duels. Passives were Mysterious Tome and Oops! All Spells. Games were over incredibly fast, my 8, 9, 10, and 11th wins were all over by turn 5 or 6. Hero power was Survival Training and starting treasure was Slate's Syringe. Also, as a PSA, be aware that if a Priest with Mind Tether steals/copies your Aimed Shot their hero power keeps the +2 bonus permanently.
I guess you used the first Hero Power?
Yes. Survival Training with Slate's Syringe.
