Riot isnt playing around are they now?
They also have the animated series coming out in the future which will help people like me that knows absolutely nothing about league of legends lore to get into it. I played runeterra and was on and off about it but in the end I think I liked it, but I think I would enjoy it more if I knew about the characters in the cards I was playing. One of the main reasons I love Hearthstone is because I see a new card and think "I know that dude!" or like when Kadger was released - "What the hell... hes only a 2/2! com'on!"
I can't wait to see what riot has up their sleeves the get my full attention. They sure have the money to do so heh D:
Super hyped for their anime and I expect we'll try and cover it in some way if there is anything interesting / new that comes out of it.
Since is shows Targon, Shurima, Ixtal, and Bilgewater this could be a spoiler for the next regions they will be releasing.
as far as i know (I left playing LoL 2-3 years ago) pirate champions like Miss Fortune, Gankplank and champions related with sea like Fizz are from Bilgewater. What I mean is it is a well-known region. They will probably release that region earlier because the champions that I mentioned are so popular ones.
Interesting... I wonder if there will be a strong push towards establishing solid lore in LoL (I may be out of the loop, but I was under the impression it was pretty cursory on lore, focusing more on gameplay)
They have been actually (re)building the lore extensively over the past few years. Redoing the original lore that characters had to one that would tie them all together in a unified universe and timeline. It was pretty random when LoL launched just to give characters some flavor, but wasnt rly thought out in depth much. That is not true today.
They've spent the past few years really diving into getting the League of Legends lore fleshed out!
With them working on lots of new games, its no real surprise they wanted to make sure everything in the realm would have a solid base to work from. You might be interested in checking out the Universe site where they have stories, biographies of characters, and a ton more. I should link this in the original post.

Thx! I will take a look... last time I checked (maybe 2 years ago?), they had connections but no unifying sense of lore or structure... it's great to hear they've put in some work to make it more rich and concrete!
