It seemed like dungeon/arena hybrid from Hearthstone at first look. Seems funny also. I always loved Dungeon runs and playing them even after completed them. And also I spend most of my time of Hearthstone in arenas.
Seems like I will play all of my expeditions in Runeterra too. Seemed fun to play. I will look at it deeply tomorrow.
Someone might not like the limit of them but I liked it kind of a. It seemed like it is balancing the card ownage of people. I mean, We know that they will limit the buyable wildcards with real money. I feel like this expedition limits are also about making collection. And also I feel like they don't spare players as Arena players, Constructed players etc. They seemed like they want players to play every modes.
Seems pretty f2p friendly, but also time intensive. 7(-14?) games with slightly weaker decks/longer games will probably take quite some time.
My guess would be that it'll be high value per expedition, but maybe not the fastest way of acquiring rewards? Not sure.
Anyway, looks fun af.
Kinda weird that they have put a limit on the expeditions per week
The 3 expeditions that you pay for (and have rewards) = 6 runs to get 7 wins before 2 consecutive losses. It's 2 runs per expedition.
After the 3 paid expedition, you can keep drafting and playing for free, but there are no rewards for those runs.
6 runs a week is about all i can do. I'm expecting the games of mid-range, low power, drafted decks to be longer than constructed games.
Short clarification. You can continue playing with rewards... but with lower rewards. It wasn't clearly stated in the video, but look again at 4:30 (4 minutes 30 seconds), above the "Open Play" button. I quote:
"or continue playing as many trials as you'd like for free (but with limited rewards)".
Good spot. I'm pleased about that, because I fear 'no reward' games leads to early concedes . As well as only going for 'high-roll' drafts.
With 'limited rewards' for free runs will help mitigate this issue.
I thought so too, but it may be as a way to encourage you to explore other formats instead of farming Expeditions. I can't say for sure.
