Let’s Take a Look at the Ban List for Yu-Gi-Oh Master Duel’s Upcoming EX-Zero Festival

Konami announced the EX-Zero Festival for Master Duel earlier today, and we've got a breakdown of the forbidden and limited list for the event. As usual, we'll only focus on the cards that are banned specifically for this event, and we won't bring attention to the regular ban list (though some cards are further limited compared to the norm).

While looking over the forbidden cards, keep in mind that ALL Fusion, Synchro, Xyz, and Link Monsters are banned from the Festival. The list has the usual suspects taken care of, with D.D. Dynamite and most self-harm cards completely banned.

Of note this time around is that both Eldlich and True Draco are pretty much untouched, which has never happened in such an event. On the other hand, Timelords, which are usually simply limited, now have some of their most powerful monsters banned. It'll be interesting to see how the Festival's meta looks.

Lots more spells here than in the Forbidden section, mostly ones that impede your opponent's game plan in some way. There's also a single card that's been Semi-Limited for the Festival, it's at the end of this section.

  • Did someone say Monarchs?

    Because I'm hearing Monarchs.

    • Yeah, if The Monarchs Erupt wasn't limited it would be a lot scarier tho. Just gotta practice drawing Pantheism of the Monarchs every game, ez.

      • Pretty much. I haven't played MD, and subsequently my Monarch deck, since one of the first festivals they held.
And even then, I don't think I had much non Monarch related support/tech. Might need to find an update.
