MARVEL SNAP's July season has started, and it's Rise of the Phoenix! The new season brings with it a new Season Pass for players to purchase and complete to get a new card and exclusive cosmetics. It also brought a rank reset for all players, so it's time to start climbin' again.
From the Ashes
Quote From MARVEL SNAP Rise of the Phoenix, the hottest season of MARVEL SNAP, is about to take flight! This Season Pass is inspired by and features one of the Multiverse's oldest and most formidable cosmic entities—Phoenix Force. Additional new cards you can expect to see include Jean Grey, Legion, Mirage, and Echo. We also have some fire variants, new locations, and more!
The Season is broken into five week-long chapters, with Chapter Missions to complete for Season Pass XP. To start us off, Chapter 1: "Cosmic Stirrings," has its first three Missions unlocked.
Rise of the Phoenix Season will end at 8 PM PT on Monday, July 31 (2 AM UTC on Tuesday, 1 August).
Developer Update
Ben Brode and Yong Woo team up to take on a spicy challenge while talking about everything new coming to MARVEL SNAP in July.
Spotlight Caches will be coming to MARVEL SNAP sometime later this month - likely with the monthly patch (which we guess will be on Tuesday, July 18).
Phoenix Force, Go!
On Reveal: Revive one of your destroyed cards and merge with it. That card can move each turn.
Rise of the Phoenix Season Pass card, Phoenix Force, is a 5 Cost card with 6 Power and "On Reveal: Revive one of your destroyed cards and merge with it. That card can move each turn." It can be picked up by purchasing the Premium Season Pass. If you don't buy the Premium Pass, it will be added to Series 5 following this Season, where you can earn it on the Collection Ladder or pick it up from the Token Shop for 6000 Collector's Tokens.
Quote From MARVEL SNAP Dear SNAPPERS,
We have identified an unusual interaction when specifically merging Phoenix Force with Titania. The sequence in which Titania merges with Phoenix Force and then moves twice may lead to temporary connection issues, and in some cases players may be unable to log into the game or search for a match for up to half an hour.
The MARVEL SNAP team is working diligently to resolve this issue and will keep you updated on the situation. In the meantime, we recommend avoiding this specific combination of cards! Your patience and understanding is greatly appreciated — Stay tuned, and keep SNAPPING!
Last Season's Season Pass card, Ghost-Spider, is now exclusive to Series 5.
The Premium Season Pass's exclusive cosmetics:
- Variants for Phoenix Force, Colossus, and Magik
- Phoenix Force, Colossus, and Magik Avatars
- A card back
- Two Titles
New Cards:
- Jean Grey: [3/3]; "Ongoing: Players must play their first card here each turn. (if possible)"
- Legion: [5/8]; "On Reveal: Replace each other location with this one."
- Echo: [1/2]; "After your opponent plays an Ongoing card here, remove its abilities."
- Mirage: [2/2]; "On Reveal: Copy the lowest-Cost card in your opponent's hand into your hand. Give it +2 Power."
Rise of the Phoenix New Locations:
- White Hot Room: First to fill this gets +3 Max Energy.
- Lake Hellas: 1-Cost cards here have +2 Power.
Ranked Rewards
Speaking of ranks, it's time to get up that ladder once again. A quick reminder for how resets work after the change from last season:
Quote From Molly There's been a slight modification to season rank reset.
**Reset Rule**
*For each new season, we'll perform the following reset:*
🔸 Deduct 30 ranks from player’s last rank in the previous season
🔸 Round down to the closest integer divisible by 5
🔸 Add 3 bonus ranks
For example, if you were at Rank 66, you should be starting at Rank 38 (if you were at Rank 64, you'll start at 33). Players won't drop below Iron (Rank 10). Below are the ranked rewards for Rise of the Phoenix season. You'll have to play ten games to earn the ranked rewards you've already unlocked post-reset.
Rank | Reward |
Iron (10) | 200 Credits |
Bronze (20) | 40 Random Boosters |
Silver (30) | 250 Credits |
Gold (40) | "Willing Host, Hit Me Up Phoenix" Title |
Platinum (50) | 400 Credits |

Omega (80) | Phoenix Force Avatar |
Galactic (90) | 500 Gold |
Infinite (100) | Infinite Echo Cardback |
