  • Kripparrian takes the stage! Chris Wilson where you at?
  • The keynote is starting off with a video to look at the past of Path of Exile.
  • There's Chris Wilson!
  • Since 2019 when they originally debuted Path of Exile 2, they have been working "tirelessly" on the game.
  • They have tried to go above and beyond with this year's ExileCon.
  • Attendees are getting an exclusive hideout in their swag bag.
  • Jonathon Rogers and Mark Roberts are now on the stage to talk about Path of Exile 2.
  • There are over 100 developers on Path of Exile 2.
  • Path of Exile 2 was originally announced as a simple expansion to PoE. This is no longer the case.
  • They made the decision to make separate games when they realized it was getting so large. There was no reason to get rid of the original game people loved.
  • All microtransactions are shared between the games, with a few exceptions where the content isn't in the original game (like bear shape shifting).
  • Classes: Witch, Ranger, Duelist, Shadow, Templar, Marauder, Warrior, Huntress, Sorceress, Mercenary, Monk, Druid.
  • 100 distinct environments.
  • 600 monsters.
  • 100 bosses.
  • 1500 passive skills.
  • 36 ascendancy classes.
  • 240 active skills
  • 700 equipment types.
  • They are showcasing gameplay from Act III in the Jungle Depths.
    • Jungle has taken over the Vaal city.
  • Many of the new abilities that were added didn't make sense for the old classes. This is why we got new classes.
  • Every area of the campaign has a boss with unique mechanics.
  • Melee has a much different feel. Almost all melee abilities have some form of movement.
  • Monk is a specialist in movement.
  • Killing Palm is an ability that will kill monsters that have low enough health (seen by a blue orb on top of the monster's head).
  • Falling Thunder creates a small lightning AoE but if you have power charges it becomes a pack clearer with more projectiles.
    • If you use the ability slightly away from the target, it has a bit of extra movement built in to make it work smooth.
  • Alva is still around!
  • You can call on NPCs instead of having to go back to town all the time for assistance.
  • Every character can dodge roll by hitting spacebar. No cooldown. No limitations. It also has pathfinding so you don't get stuck.
  • All crowd control mechanics have meters which build up on bosses so you can eventually hit them with the cc.
  • If you die in Path of Exile 2 you have to start the boss over from the beginning - no more cheesing bosses.

    • Spirit is a new resource that you use for aura abilities and how many minions you can summon.
    • Items and passives can give you more spirit to let you have more auras.
    • Scepters in your secondary weapon slot have lots of spirit.
  • All staffs come with a base ability that you can use.
  • Mana Tempest creates a circle of power - drains your mana but your skills are larger and do more damage.
  • Uncut gems drop instead of skill gems
  • Right lick on an uncut gem to pick what skill it is.
  • The gems are pre-leveled to the area it dropped in.
  • Meta gems are skills that can have other skills socketed into them.
  • Trigger gems need to fill up in order to trigger. This is indicated by buffs in the top left corner of your screen.
  • Weapon swapping in PoE 2 isn't as awkward as PoE 1.
    • Choose which weapons are used per skill in your skills interface.
    • You will then automatically switch weapons.
  • Weapon set-specific skill points are added so your passives change based on your skills being cast.
