Bad news for PS Plus subscribers: The service is about to become quite a bit more expensive starting September 6th. This applies to 12-month subscriptions, while monthly and 3-month ones stay unaffected. The news comes from the blog post about next month's Essential games (which we have a dedicated article for). If you're an existing subscriber, you can extend the sub for the old price until November 6th.

Here's the new prices:

  • 79.99 USD | 71,99 Euro | 59.99 GBP | 6,800 Yen (up from 59.99 USD or equivalent)
  • 134.99 USD | 125,99 Euro | 99.99 GBP | 11,700 Yen (up from 99.99 USD or equivalent)
  • 159.99 USD | 151,99 Euro | 119.99 GBP | 13,900 Yen (up from 119.99 USD or equivalent)

All in all, the price increase is quite steep, but it's still the best bang for the buck if you want to take advantage of the service. Compared to Xbox Game Pass, PS+ Extra will now be slightly more expensive than both the base GP versions (PC and Console), but PS+ Premium will stay cheaper than GP Ultimate.
