We are sad to announce that Akira Toriyama, best known as the creator of Dragon Ball, has passed away on March 1st at the age on 68. In an official post on the Dragon Ball website (linked below), it's revealed that the cause of death was subdural hematoma.
While Dragon Ball is his most well-known work of art, he's also been the character artist on several video games, including classics like Chrono Trigger and the Dragon Quest series. The video game Sand Land, that he supervised and which is based on another series that he created, is set to release later this year, on April 25th.
Rest in peace, Mr. Toriyama.

RIP Legend
An absolute titan in the industry! His work is some of the most recognizable and shows the huge impact Japan has had on North American youth culture in the 90s, popularizing anime (and to a degree manga). Every day Dragon Ball could be found on tv and you bet I was glued to it.
I'm looking forward to the April launch of the Sand Land game.
May he rest in peace.
Shocked and saddened. One of the few Japanese artist whos style is truly unique, almost a perfect cross between anime and western designs.
Hopefully his legacy is respected and finally allow some closure to his work.
May he rest in peace. He really changed my life in more than one way...
