We got an announcement for a sequel to one of the greatest RPGs set in the medieval era - Kingdome Come: Deliverance or KCD for shot!

I am extremely excited because I loved playing the first game and even more so since the studio, Warhorse, and the game world are from a little country in central Europe, Czech Republic, which I call home. And the fact that this game got so popular all over the world is a testament to its quality. It really does hit different if you can recognize the places in the game you are playing and some of those you have actually been in real life too. Quite an experience.

The game is set to be released towards the end of the year on PC, PS5 and XBOX Series X|S.

What Is Kingdom Come: Deliverance?

For those of you who never heard of this franchise, it is an open world action RPG - think Skyrim without the fantasy aspect - set in medieval Europe.

You are Henry, son of a blacksmith to a local lord and as you go about your day, enemy raiding party attacks your village, butchers your family and burns everything down. You barely manage to espace, and your journey begins. There are a LOT of twists and turns where you discover what is happening in Bohemia at the time, civil war being imminent and how will Henry fit into all that.

I'm not going to spoil more, if you want to play the game now is the best time to get into it since they are running a discount on steam from 30 bucks to just 7! What a steal!

Kingdome Come: Deliverance 2 Game Reveal + Announcement Trailer

Most Important Notes From the Game Reveal Video

  • Tom McKay (Henry) and Luke Dale (Sir Hans) are presenting the first in-depth look into the Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2 (KCD2). An action-RPG set in a realistic world of late middle ages Central Europe, Bohemia.
  • KCD2 follows the story of Henry from the first game and continues and builds upon the events that transpired.
  • But the game is written in such a way that players who never played first game can jump right in.
  • KCD2 is what the team wanted to do from the start (KCD1), but didn't have enough resources at the time. KCD1 with its popularity proved that what they were putting out there works, and now they can build upon that success and go bigger.
  • KCD1 had roughly 3 hours of cut scenes, KCD2 will have more than 5 hours.
  • The world of KCD2 is 2x bigger compared to KCD1.
  • Main story is longer and "much more epic". KCD1 was about introducing the main character, Henry, start of his journey and issues with small nobility and their lands and villages. KCD2 is going to tell stories about problems of kings.
  • Henry is a "young guy" so that gives him, and the player, a variety of ways to build him as a character.
  • New type of weapons - crossbows and some early medieval firearms!
  • You can solve problems in many ways, be it combat, conversation or stealing.
  • Your appearance will have an impact on the game, for example if you are going to be drunk and naked people will comment on that and you will be able to reply to their comments on that subject.
  • There will be different map locations, one such location is based on an actual place called Bohemian Paradise. It is a rocky and foresty national park in Czech Republic. Next new location is Kuttenberg, the city where silver was mined in middle ages, it will be the focal point of the story.
  • The team tried to go for something new with how they made this big medieval city. Not going for the dark, muddy style as we often see in these type of games, but lush colorful rich city which Kuttenberg was in that time.
  • They made sure that wondering around the countryside was an experience in of itself and hid many secrets all around for players to find.
  • Music is big part of the game. Jan Valta was composer for the first game and is for the second as well. Symphonic orchestra in combination with church choir.
