The hit indie drug-dealing game, Schedule 1, has received yet another update this April this time around focusing primarily on bug fixes but also bringing in a couple of new features that are quite nice to have.
Let's see what's new in Schedule 1 in Patch v0.3.4f8.
Employee Inventories
If you've ever run into a problem where your employees stop working when they should be, sometimes this is due to their inventory being in limbo; Having an item that isn't currently usable would stop actions from being taken.
The previous workaround was closing your game and manually deleting the contents of your employee's save data file, not exactly an easy task for everyone so its great to see Tyler, the game's creator, found an in-game way of allowing us to fix the issue should it occur.
Simply select "I need to access your inventory" on their dialog options.
Save File Optimization
Schedule 1's original save data format was, well, a mess if we're being honest. Every entity in the game, whether thats your friend playing in your save, an employee at one of your pieces of real estate, or the new OG Daddy Kush 69 that you just created, had its own file. Due to this, the time to save the game in later stages of the game was considerably longer than it needed to be on some devices due to lots of file IO on the system.
Tyler also stated in the patch notes that this was prone to bugs and having many files was also increasing the time to sync data with Steam Cloud, both of which don't sound fun.
The fix? Schedule 1's save data now gets consolidated into fewer files, with different types of entities getting to share a file now. This includes your mixes, vending machines, ATMs, store pallets, and dead drops.
Chemists & Botanists Feeling Less Buggy, Mick Shows Up
If you ever encountered a Cauldron or Drying Rack to become unusable, today is your lucky day! Fixes have gone in place which correct an issue where a Chemist or Botanist could break these objects in the world.
Speaking of bugs, Mick not appearing at the Pawn Shop, which was added in the previous patch and allows you to sell your unneeded items for a bit of money, has had schedule tweaks to make sure he shows up for work. If we're putting in the steps to run around and deliver, the least Mick could do was show up to buy our old skateboards.
What's Next for Schedule 1
A new property and a new purchasable jukebox is coming in next week's game update. What do you think the property will be?
