You might've missed this in Tuesday's patch notes, but today, the Hearthstone team is treating us a dev update video discussing said patch. We don't anticipate any critical information past what we already know, but we're bound to get a few fun nuggets of information about the class sets and how they came to be.
Notes
The video was recorded on May 15, meaning that the balance patch on Tuesday has no bearing on what's being talked about.
Dev update videos are going to happen more often.
They have confirmed that no new class is releasing this year.
Death Knight is the class that is getting a second class set, a decision made to accommodate the Rune system.
Treant Token Druid was the original plan for the Druid class set. They changed this when the deck was already powerful and didn't want to support a deck that's already prevalent.
Dragon Soul, Shattered was designed for the main Cataclysm set, but was moved when there wasn't any room for it.
They are working on a system to reduce the amount of "Double-Hearld" deck in dual-class Arena.
The next expansion is a "prison break" expansion. Given the Violet Hold theming in the leak from yesterday, it seems more likely that the leak is legitimate.
