73% winrate diamond to legend - Top perfoming card HL hunter
- Highlander Hunter
- Wild
- Ranked
So I used my usual approach by making a highlander deck which includes cards based on winrate when drawn. Which worked pretty well for midrange type of deck such as Highlander Hunter.
Also no Transfer Student isn't here for meme, he is actually good and third best card in highlander hunter by stats...
But other than that yeah I didn't include much synergy cards because if you include only top performing cards, there is not enough synergy for them.
Only exception of synergy part are secrets, they are not in top 30, but Phase Stalker is so good you just kinda have to run him plus couple of secrets. Also secret "winrate when drawn" is misleading anyway because you want to never draw them and cheat them out instead.
Second exception is Kill Command. While yeah not that many beasts in deck (one plain one actually) but enough of beast generation to be worth, and using it for just 3 damage isn't end of the world. Also there is enough dragons to run some Dragons, maybe even replacing Kill Command with Frizz Kindleroost but I didn't do that, so posting list that I actually played.
Mulligan
Just keep 1 and 2 drop minions (don't keep any of the cheap spells except maybe Corrosive Breath against Demon Hunters)
Keeping Animal Companion or Primordial Explorer or one Weapon might be ok too especially if you already have 1-2
Against slower deck keeping Rotnest Drake and Dinotamer Brann might be ok
Against Priest and Druid Maiev Shadowsong might be a good keep if you do have early drops already
Matchups
Demon Hunter
Against demon hunter it is important to keep board control and don't get too much damage to your own face, while racing them a bit...

Here is a close one, where it came to saving my face as much as possible mattering:
https://hsreplay.net/replay/fEkj48PYXLycxHPEsUefyZ
Druid
Try to kill them as fast as possible, you are the aggressor, key card here is Maiev Shadowsong keep her for lethal push to get through taunt (or to just dormant the [Hearthstone Card (Mountseller) Not Found] when in pinch)

https://hsreplay.net/replay/PEqoCVxbYGP4SM6g5QZaVj
Hunter
Mirror comes down to curving out and having better tempo than your opponent. And look out for those Dinotamer Brannand Zephrys the Great lethal potentials...

https://hsreplay.net/replay/RBLYV4WDm9wTmJXSpRiTZW
Mage
Against you are aggressor, make sure they don't survive to turn 11. Don't go too wide though, it is mage afterall. Better to play 1 big minion then couple of small ones.
Look how close it is if the survive for 9 turns:

You would prefer something like this instead:

Paladin
Against Pure paladin just. Keep tempo, go face whenever you can afford it, and hope it works out:
https://hsreplay.net/replay/UWpCeQSxErPpUCv5Wu9Jo5
Against Murloc paladin. Make sure they can't stick murlocs:
https://hsreplay.net/replay/yAEBxEDYBiujvweURKH54f
(Or sometimes they just give you Finley: https://hsreplay.net/replay/ro8XBikMxA7hyZkontRHR9 Make sure to pick a defensive hero power when that happens and they are in for some misery)
Priest
Quest Priest. Well held up on damage to face until you can do more than 5 in a turn at least (usually it is when Imprisoned Felmaw wakes up if you had it in mulligan)
https://hsreplay.net/replay/R9DGPAVRdBcw65kWSjo9jX
Galakrond Priest. Again be aggressive and lookout for those Zephrys the Great and Dinotamer Brann lethals (and maybe even Nagrand Slam):

https://hsreplay.net/replay/EbVmbFx9RNibuPXPjSW3YH
Rogue
They can't really heal. So just kill them before they start cheating too much:
https://hsreplay.net/replay/2WJcGgjQcYvgy5A3chtPDZ
Shaman
Control board and (including killing totems) but try to go face enough at the same time too...
https://hsreplay.net/replay/4LLbqiYLyVxxC2M7UPbi96
I only have Galakrond Shaman match, I never faced totem shaman, but until they play galakrond cards or very aggressive cards/quest, totems are prime targets, you don't want to be caught of guard with 2/4s taking some disgusting trades
Warlock
Quest Warlock. They heal a lot, but it is still possible to aggro them down.
https://hsreplay.net/replay/ds7UnyQg7V7waJpEiC2PfU
Zoo. Whoever gets to control the board wins:
https://hsreplay.net/replay/ugFfcwDyyqrQkcLsskVswc
Galakrond warlock is similar idea to zoo. But it is way harder to do. So I have only a loss against the only one I faced. Hopefully you can learn from what went wrong:

Warrior
Somehow didn't face any. But you are favored. Just play minions that are bigger than what their removal can deal with.
