Wild Shadow Priest v.1

Like many people, when I saw this card I was incredibly excited. After maining one in WoW for years as well as playing versions of the deck since Classic Hearthstone,I have longed for Shadow Priest to make a return in some form so that the archetype could be developed further. Velen/Vargoth/Mind Blast decks are fun and all, but I wanted to see new and different ideas being explored now that spell schools are a thing. Sure enough, the card reveals and theorycrafting streams yesterday showcased a new core of Shadow Priest support that got me excited enough to try theorycrafting something new. While I’m sure smarter people than myself will make very optimized lists in standard and in wild in the weeks to come, this is the list I will be tooling around with next week as a starting point. 

The deck follows up on the Leper Gnome, Shadowed Spirit, Kobold Sandtrooper and Rally! sort of deck that was briefly making the rounds during Darkmoon Races and Barrens. The only difference is that the damage you lose out on without Rally! in the deck is made up for with things like Void Shard, Shadowcloth Needle and Voidtouched Attendant. I have no idea how well this will all work together, so next week should be a real fun time! Hoping to get some games under my belt and edit as I go-hoping to eventually fit Raise Dead into the deck as well.

If all goes well, I will edit and write a real guide next week sometime. I love this archetype so I will continue to play it no matter how badly it performs! If anyone tries something similar out or has better ideas (which I’m sure you will) let me know. Shadow Priests gotta stick together.
