Meta-wise, armor tech is pretty unnecessary. It's actually a liability when it occupies the place of a Chief Inspector or a Plague of Murlocs.

With the addition of Platebreaker, Malygos Shaman now can hold its footing against the big armor classes. My variation includes one Piper for drawing into this card (or one of your other combo pieces if possible) but other variations may include Mana Tide Totems, Barnes, Hemet or other ways to help draw through your deck.

Aye, I remember times when I would really appreciate Platebreaker, but as you've stated, nowadays the meta just ain't really that armor heavy, though who knows, maybe we'll witness a fall of Secret Mages one beautiful day!
