JC_06Z33's Shyvana + J4 Frejlord

This Shyvana + Jarvan IV deck from redditor u/JC_06Z33 is surprisingly effective!

Shyvana is in a great spot right now. That buff to her was HUGE. I took a J4/Shy deck from G4 to P1 over the past week before getting annoyed by so much aggro and switching to hit Diamond.

She synergizes really well with both Cataclysm and Aegis, because she gets +1/+1 (or +2/+2 and her fleeting strike if leveled) even on defense, helping her to effective heal every round in some games. Take Heart is sleeper OP for her and Dragons because even if they keep good health up from Fury, they'll always be damaged. Liutenant and Protege are also often damaged from challenge. And all of those damaged units, Cataclysms, and Aegis's help J4 level. And between her and J4, late game you'll have tons of free strikes to keep their board down. The main things it can't deal with are Frostbite, Burn, and big bodies like Reputation decks that you can't attack into safely. Sadly, there is a lot of that the higher you get. But it's a very fun and consistent deck for Gold through Plat and normals.

Your mulligan should be focused on getting one of your 2-drops and Shyvana; if you have a dragon (or the researcher) you can also consider keeping a chow. You do want to make greater effort to protect Shyv and level her in this deck than other dragon decks, but at the same time never over-commit. This deck runs 16 spells and they are all combat tricks and/or ally interactions, so maintaining board is important.
