Since Palworld is also a survival game, food is important both for the player and for Pals. Different types of foods give various amount of nutrition which fills the satiety bar and some even Pals' sanity bar and/or give additional bonuses.

It is not something you can really ignore because as yours or your Pals' satiety drops and you become Hungry, you will receive a nasty stat penalties and once the satiety drops to zero Starvation sets in and your Health starts to deplete until it reaches 1 HP. So disregarding frequent meals will make you much weaker and vulnerable in combat.

But before we get into the nitty-gritty of becoming the best farmer in the Palpagos Islands, let me just tell you one simple truth: All you need to feed your entire base and yourself is a single Berry Plantation. That's really it. Anything else is just extra, but we love extra, don't we? So here we go.

How To Grow Your Own Food? Plantations!

First structure that produces food you will have access to is going to be a plantation. You will need Pals with work assignments in Planting, Watering, Gathering and Transporting to automate the process. You can always do all the steps yourself, but it will take a significant amount of time, so it is better to delegate.

Becoming a Rancher

Other way to get your own food products is to build a Ranch, accessible at Tech Level 5. Requires 50x Wood, 20x Stone and 30x Fiber to build.

A lot of Pals can be assigned to the Ranch and depending on the Pal you'll get different yields off them. You can get different materials and even gold and spheres, not just food.

How To Stop Pals Getting Stuck Transporting Products From Plantations?

This happens relatively often. Your Pals water down the plantation, food grows and it gets harvested ... but then lot of Pals with Transporting work assignment get stuck on top of the plantation not being able to move the harvested products into the Feed Box or Refrigerator.

This plagued me for a long time until a redditor jasn3 gave me a weird, but ultimately great, advice - build a carpet underneath the plantation! Voila, problem solved! Pals didn't get stuck on plantation since.
