So you've installed Warcraft Rumble, and/or you're curious about the game and how it plays. Look no further! We're here to break it all down and get you started: with our help, you'll be unleashing powerful armies upon your enemies in no time! Be sure to visit the other guides, as well, to get the full overview for maximum preparation. Some of this is explained in-game, of course, but much of it is not, leading players to confusion and frustration when they don't know everything they need to make informed decisions and be successful.

If you're looking for even more information, perhaps you'll find it in one of the other guides listed below:

Money Makes the World Go 'Round

Warcraft Rumble uses various forms of currency to unlock things for your profile, buy new minis, and/or upgrade them further. To see all the currency currently available to you, you can look to the top-right when inside the Store, Army screen, or Map screen. Pressing on the presented number will make a small drop-down window appear, which looks like this:

You'll see there are seven total currencies to keep track of. Eight if you count each mini's star total (which we'll get into in a minute); that's a lot! Thankfully, things become much simpler when you group them based on what they're for: this breaks them down to Sigils, Shop currencies, and Upgrade currencies.

Sigils

Sigils are the red dragon tokens on the top-left of the above picture. They are earned when you complete a level for the first time, or when you defeat them again later as Heroic levels. If you were to press on the Sigil number, you'll see they have their own menu which looks like this:

As you gain Sigils, you'll unlock new aspects of the game for your profile: Leaders which head your armies, gameplay features like the G.R.I.D. (the Shop) or Quests, the Talent system to upgrade your minis, and Guild access for social functions. At time of writing there are 160 total Sigils to unlock, although you can obtain rewards up to 150.

Shop Currencies

Once you've unlocked the shop, you'll be able to buy minis and additional resources either with the in-game currencies or real money. Most purchases require Coins, which are the gold eagle tokens: this is the lifeblood of your profile, so be smart with your expenditures! You earn Coins via completing certain levels, from Arclight Surges (missions with a special twist), or from buying them outright; unless you decide to be a "whale" and regularly contribute your money to the funding of capitalistic endeavors, it will take time to accrue a lot of Coins beyond the early days of your Rumble experience. Many a new player has blown their Coins on buying everything and anything in front of them, only to find they have to now wait or pony up for more. But I digress...

The shop is explained in detail in the guide on Navigating the Menus. The other currency left to talk about are the Big Red Buttons, but they're easy to understand: when you don't like what the GRID/shop is offering, you can use one of your Big Red Buttons to nuke the table and recycle what's being offered. BRBs are earned from completing an Arclight Surge, or they're given out on rare occasions from the shop's freebie bonus, which refreshes every four hours after using it.

In the example above, I used the Big Red Button to reset the GRID: I didn't like what was available (the first screenshot), so I completely reset it (the second pic). If I had another BRB I could do it again, but alas I only had the one; that's not a big deal, though, because the Harpies mini in the top-left were exactly what I was looking for!

Upgrade Currencies

So you're ready to upgrade a mini's Rarity, eh? Then you'll need some materials to complete the process! The remaining currencies are used to do just that; they are: Arclight Energy, Cores, and Stars (not shown in the picture at the top). You need a combination of all of them to upgrade a mini from Common to Uncommon, Rare, Epic, or Legendary, often in greater amounts as you progress.

Arclight Energy

Arclight Energy (or just "Energy") is noted by the blue lightning symbol. You earn Energy from completing Dungeons or from purchasing it with Coins. You'll need 500 Energy to boost a mini from Common (white) to Uncommon (green), 2000 for Rare (blue), 8000 for Epic (purple), and 20,000 for Legendary (gold).

Cores

Cores are only necessary beyond the Uncommon tier of Rarity, and are unique for each upgrade tier. You need Rare Cores to upgrade a mini to Rare, an Epic Core to reach Epic, etc. You earn them by completing Heroic areas, buying them from the shop, or rarely through daily rewards.

Stars

Stars come from repurchasing the same mini over and over again in the GRID, or rarely when you receive a duplicate from the Sigil menu or daily rewards. You must acquire Stars for each mini, and they only work for that mini alone: if I want to upgrade the Baron Rivendare Leader-mini, I must find and/or purchase more copies of Baron Rivendare. It takes 3 Stars to reach Uncommon, 10 for Rare, and 25 each for Epic and Legendary.

When you're about to upgrade a mini, you need to head to their Upgrade screen, found when you press "Info" on a particular mini or Leader. What you'll find looks something like this:

In the above example, my Harpies want to upgrade from Rare to Epic: this will earn them another Bonus Level and a Talent slot! In order to do this, they need 8000 Energy, 25 Harpies Stars, and 1 Epic Core. I have the Energy and the Core, but not enough Stars, so they'll have to wait for me to acquire more copies of the Harpies from the GRID or elsewhere.

And there you have it! With this knowledge, you'll be able to discern the mysteries of the universe...or at least, the mysteries of Warcraft Rumble's currency systems.
