It all started revealing cards moderate, pointedly on par, and even shy, and now it's frankly bombs everywhere
Regis is so much better than Kripp
This set looks exciting! I'm looking forward to the new deck archetypes that come from this expansion
My thoughts on the last set reveal:
- Dhunters got deathrattle synergy...only lacking the actual deathrattles. They keep getting cards like Razorboar which summons deathrattles but that's as far as it goes. Only two deathrattles are standouts, Darkspear Berserker and Burning Blade Acolyte. One is too slow, and the other's deathrattle is detrimental. Like really? I guess we're waiting till the midset again eh. Its a farce how even druid got a decent deathrattle minion this time round, but not the class that actually needs it.
- Celestial Alignment will at some point be the most disgusting card to ever be printed for druid.
- The priest cards are decent now, so there's that. But still can't draw for shit and now galakrond is out they cant generate more minions, so as predicted: you clear the priest board ONCE, and that's game over.
- There's some really spicy elementals that might just bring back midrange shaman. For all intends and purposes, Lilypad Lurker is basically Vilespine Slayer with only the smallest caveat. There might not be enough elementals in standard to make it consistent, but we'll see.
- Wildfire is literally insane. If control mage makes a comeback, this is just backbreaking. Wonder why the hell is priest denied the Mind Shatter upgrade when they happily proceed to then give this to mage (Unless the second copy of wildfire literally just refreshes the hp)
- We got rid of Eviscerate, only to see something that is basically that in Wicked Stab (Rank 1) come straight back. Is team5 literally toying with us?
Mage, paladin, and druid looking really good. Almost a good leap away from the most unfortunate class this time round, demon hunters. Looking forward to the release already.
I would imagine that this card is a lot of the reason for the situation with Mind Shatter.
Mage isn't Priest, and Priest isn't Mage, and a card that makes them both the same with regard to hero power is pretty poor design. The existence of one is almost certainly the reason for the non-existence of the other, not a reason it should exist.
The devs said during the stream that they wanted to try something different when they gave DH deathrattle support. The cards are purposely designed in such a way that they chain together, to make them more sticky I guess. We will have to see how that will plays out in the meta.
All those "at the start of your turn" cards are such wasted potential. Could have easily been at the end and be ok, why man :(
Lol, yeah that's what I thought too. Doesn't help that they have ridiculously small health and can be easily traded favorably by just about any minion 2 drop and above.
That expansion got some really nice anti-aggro cards. Namely Death's Head Cultist and Gold Road Grunt. Also is it just me or is Far Watch Post absolutely crazy against any non-aggro decks?
Death's Head Cultist vs Silverback Patriarch. Beast tag so expensive :D
Far Watch Post can also really mess up decks like Token Druid, and can be played super early.
All cards are here now!
It's been exciting to see some of these hinted ideas coming together. There's so much potential in Druid and Mage!
OMG Xyrella portrait so nice.
That portrait looks amazing. Was planning on getting the tavern pass this time around and this helps seal it.
Liv needs to be on these streams here on out. She has been the best Team5 member since Brode.
Regis was also a great pick. I didn't mind Kibler but nice to see a new face. Would be happy if these is our team this year for reveal streams.
I agree, she just needs to show up a few more times to become a little less stiff, but she has great energy, and I think she can fill in the space that Kosak and Ben left!
I hope I see more of her and Regis on card reveals in the future :)
I didn't actually got the chance to watch it but I can see now I have to, because usually after these final reveal stream, all I get is just bile from the community. The fact that there isn't any now means something really big has changed.
Hear, hear!
Agreed, Liv was brilliant. She was funny, efficient, and knew exactly when a new card appeared. I.e. everything these streams need.
Agreed, the dynamic between Liv and Regis was great. Regis has a great energy. Also the commentary over the hunter spell that bore a resemblance was pretty funny.
